So, my daughter needed a haircut. She's a teenager and has been wanting a certain trending cut that lots of high school girls have. Since I'm a single mom, I can't afford an expensive haircuts for her. I looked online for salons in my city and based on Bogart's website and the prices listed, I chose to schedule an appointment for my daughter with the woman who answered the phone when I called, Mimi. The salon is on the smaller side, but looks clean and is comfortable. When we arrived, Mimi was very friendly. She offered a facial with the shops facialist who happened to be in the salon at the time, and I politely declined. My daughter showed Mimi pictures of the hairstyle she wanted, but Mimi refused to do the haircut as requested since she said my daughter was too beautiful for the cut. I told her my mother always let me have my hair however I wanted and I let my daughter do the same. That went in one ear and out the other. When the haircut was finished, I got up to pay and she says "That will be $90". My jaw dropped! I said "Your websites says $20 for girls and boys under 15!" She tells me that the website doesn't say that (it does). I point out that the sign on the front desk says children under 15 cost $25 for haircuts. She had tried to upsell me a leave in product and I declined, so I couldn't understand where the price was coming from. She told me that they don't have "children's cut prices". I told her i didn't even have $90 on me. I had $77. She said I could pay the rest later. I feel like I was scammed. I will never not ask the total price for something before hand again. The worst part is my daughter is unhappy with her haircut because the hairstylist wouldn't do what she wanted. read more

I had my hair done by Mimi alongside her amazing assistance Nancy today, and they did a heck of a job!! But, they didn't just give me a beautiful hair make-over, they also made me feel at-home by welcoming me warmly and providing me with very good customer service throughout my visit, I was even having conversations with her friendly clients! Meyo at Bogarts is a true artist. if you are looking for a truly good, quality manicurist in Moorpark, or even the surrounding cities, look no more. She truly understands the art of doing nails. Her personality shines as she takes time to completely make you feel comfortable. Meyo is the type of manicurist worth traveling for. I was so sick of going to nail salons and feeling like i was on an assembly line. You won't have to worry about the constant upgrades of a typical nail salon, "you want calluses removed", you want extra massage". Or even having to twist your body in two directions so two techs can work on you to get you out faster. Meyo gives a good, quality work and is dedicated to making you feel relaxed. I grew up in Moorpark so Ive been a customer off and on for almost 10 years (since I was about 20) Eva has been doing my hair cut and colors all that time, as well as my mothers and old boyfriend. Whats funny is she has even kept her records of my visits over the years so she can always reference what we have done in the past. Ive seen many hair stylists come and go at this place but there are a core few that are just fantastic and know their stuff. Eva is one of them and every time I take a trip to another hair spot to save time or cash, I regret it. But im always happy here because its like visiting an old friend. The Salon is a bit small and they have remodeled a few times but I like that it is hip yet still has that small town feel to it. read more

She did a great job- taking off just enough to give me the body I needed but keeping the length. I am new to Moorpark and had been to this salon with a friend. I loved the energy and decided to try the salon now that I moved to the area. I am not a huge YELP person but I HAD to give a review. Mimi was absolutely magic. I have never looked this great. I have paid major bucks to try to get my hair to look this good before and she did it effortlessly! Lita greeted me and helped me and was amazing as well...I had extensions put in and they are the most natural I have ever had. I had them once before but it was not a great experience so I have hesitated to ever do it again. I went to a very exclusive salon to have them put in before and they have nothing on MiMi! Mimi is a hair GURU! It's been about 2 weeks since I had my hair recolored and it still looks amazing like I just walked of the salon! She is not just a stylist she is a master expert colorists and really knows her stuff! Being that my hair had about 3 inches of gray, and old color on the ends, she was patient and listened to what I wanted and she was very honest in her suggestions to me and did not overpromise on the delivery. I brought myself & daughter in to get our hair done by Mimi. Absolutely LOVED it! She cut and styled my 12 y/o's hair and it came out beautiful. Cut & blow dry for her was $45. I can't find anything less than $60 for a child. It's ridiculous, but Mimi was great! I got a hair cut, roots, highlights & blow dry for $ 145. NEVER have I found it this cheap. We were literally there for about 2 1/2 hours. I can't believe how fast that was. It's exactly what I wanted. Mimi was very personable and kind. Mimi is simply put " an artist." Her high lights are impeccable, even with the darkest color she will get beautiful blonde highlights with no brassy tones, and that IS not easy! There is no one out there that has given me such beautiful color. Her haircuts are also spot on. She can work with thick ,coarse , abundant hair and give you advice on the best haircuts for your type of hair. I've lived in Texas, Florida, and now California and she is the best.
