Updating my review since the hair stylist that I used to frequent no longer works here. I still trust this hair salon more than others so I continue to come back even though it is a little bit of a drive for me. I went to another hair salon for awhile because they seemed more professional but they messed up my hair so bad multiple times that I stopped going. I came back here because they have never messed up my haircut. Just a warning though, this place gets busy on weekends and around 4 or 5 PM when people are starting to get off work. I came on a Saturday morning and waited over an hour for a haircut. I don't think they're too busy on weekday afternoon so I'd go here during a lunch break if you want a haircut. I'd also bring a mask just in case, this hair salon is not the cleanest place. read more

I have been a regular customer and this recent visit was the last and final time I will bring my daughter to this shop for a haircut. First: It is quite pricey for only a trim and no add-ons, no special requests, and no hair-washing ($25). Second: the staff here do not sanitize between customers. There is still hair all over the floor surrounding the chair from previous customers and we have to step over or on the hair to get in the chair. I am very concerned about how the scissors, combs/brushes, and especially the razors are not cleaned between clients. All clients seem to use the same drape cloth, which is really disgusting if you're thinking about letting your child use the same one. Any parents considering to bring their child for a haircut, please think twice before exposing your children to an unsanitary establishment. read more

The hours on Yelp says they're open, but when I arrived, They refused me service saying they are closing 1 hour before posted times .The Owner is saying this is an old owners Yelp page but the number listed on the Yelp is correct! Really great haircut for my husband and toddler son! Clean and friendly establishment. Hair stylists always cut the way you ask them to. My husband is particular with his hair and always returns to Nhi or Jenny. Most importantly, they are patient and gentle with cutting my son's hair. Solid hair salon! I ask Kathy not to line me up and give me a high fade. She lined me up, gave me a taper, along with a bad attitude. She knows she did this on purpose cause She didn't give me a mirror for me to look at my haircut. I'm always polite and leave a generous +45% tip. I won't be returning here again. read more

Good haircuts every time. They wash your hair as well. Consistent with haircuts and cost is reasonable. About $17 for haircuts before tip. Sometimes there's a wait but it doesn't take too long. Barely any cell service though here. read more

It seems like if you aren't family or a friend of the hairstylists you will get skipped in line and you will have to wait a long time. The hairstylists' friends just walk in, and they get immediate service even without an appointment. (You can hear the conversation between them where the friend asks if the hairstylists can take them without an appointment.) Their sign-in sheet is a joke since the order is not even followed. If you sign up for a certain stylist and that stylist wants to help another person, the stylist will just tell you that they too busy for you and that another stylist can take you, but they tell you this after you have waited for a while. It's the worst customer service. On top of all this, they raised their prices! I definitely will not be back! read more

They just lost a returning customer. I signed in and asked for Rin, they allow requesting your preferred stylist. I waited about 30 minutes. Someone else calls my name and I let her know I'm waiting for Rin. She turns and speaks to him in their native language and turns to me to apologize but he can't service me because it's busy. I was next to be called on his list, but he took in a father whose son got his cut. Rin kept looking at me to see my reaction for taking the father, who didn't sign in, because I was next. I looked at him back to let him know I'm still waiting, but didn't say anything about taking someone else who wasn't signed in, no big deal to me. But after all that time and to be patient about having someone taken before me, to be told he's too busy was just wrong, horrible service. read more

They're always late, and when you come back, the lobby is full and it takes an hour or more to get a haircut. Well where do I start. I took my son here to get a haircut, 1st they were not using the sign in sheet (which was weird), but there was 5 people on one side of the waiting room and 4 on the other side. Not knowing who was next or waiting for a particular barber it was confusing. Finally everyone who was before my son was done and 3 new people came in at that time. When it was my son's turn the lady said she had to do other people 1st and if I would wait for the only other barber ??? When those other people came in they didn't have an appointment and even asked how many people were ahead and waiting. The system of who they want to take and who is waiting for someone is ridiculous. So after a 45 min wait, we will never be back. We will stick to paying more for a real haircut at Images 2. To top it off they did not want to cut anymore hair, so they told people who were walking in they were closing early today and locked the door. read more

I had gotten mediocre hair cuts a few times in the past few months- they weren't the best but was ok for the price... then the last cut they got a line (3-4 customers) and Kathy rushed my hair cut, didn't listen when I asked her for adjustments and called The other stylist (I think his name is Rick) 3 or 4x to come in during my haircut, delaying further. Then this week I came in, waited in line for 30 minutes, when my turn came up Kathy sat me in a chair, then decided she wanted to help out other customers first who had arrived far after I was there, and asked me to leave. Not very much like Yelp to rate a haircut place, but I have to give Top Cuts major props. My barber there is Maria, who is an adorable, patient, and highly skilled professional. For $9, I always feel bad so I usually tip at least 50%. The first time I went in, she spent about an hour making sure everything was perfect. Then, she got my hairstyle down (fade and taper), and now every time is in-and-out. Additional tip for Asian males with fade/taper cuts, Maria is definitely trustworthy! read more

I have gone to this barbershop several times. They accept walk in's and very affordable prices I have had a positive experience. Last night things took a turn for the worst. I'm Nigerian. So I understand my name is hard to pronounce so I knew when the hair stylist paused I knew it was me. So I got up and went to the chair. Then she proceeded to say why are you here? Why don't you go to your people to cut your hair? I said I'm not from here and I didn't know there was a barbershop down the street. Then she continued to say is it because it is too expensive? I said no it's not too expensive. I get a haircut every 6 weeks. I can afford 40 dollars. Then she continued to say. I am scared to cut your hair. I am timid. We don't typically cut your peoples kind of hair. Trust me I was tempted several times to get out that seat. It took everything in my power not to just go off but again I thought about the stereotype associated with being an African American man. So I didnt do that. It still very unfortunate and sad that we as African American people in 2022 are still dealing with racism and prejudice at this level. We are still not welcome in certain places. I've been coming here for a couple of years now. The staff here is always nice. Even though Rin usually cuts my hair, I have no problem going to the other ladies as well. I was having trouble finding a decent place that didn't cost an arm and a leg in Elk Grove and I finally found one. I can't speak on them being able to do full on salon type cuts, but If you get a basic hair (fade with trim on the top), give this place a try. read more

My son's haircut turned out just okay. The guy cutting his hair obviously had no patience for a four year old that likes to talk and move more than an adult would. He seemed to rush through the cut, and I had to ask him to fix the fade before we left. I might try this spot again, because the price was right and because someone recommended it to me, but I don't think I'll have the guy cut my son's hair again. read more

Cathy cut my hair and at first I was pleased, but then she took out the clippers and shaved my neck. I was surprised and disappointed! I suppose she is not used to cutting women's hair!
