Ok so I went back to top dawg after a year. I decided to give it another chance. Life's all about second chances. Well, tonight did not disappoint. It was a great dinner. Friday night at 6:30, boom sat right down, no wait. And the waitress was really good. Drink never got empty and she was checking up on us the whole time. We ordered some loaded potato skins that were pretty good. Came out quick. Then I ordered a double tavern bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. The onion rings were fantastic. And then burger was HUGE! Way to much. I should've ordered the single. But it was good. I am so stuffed. We will definitely be going back soon. So check this place out and give it a try. read more

Went for lunch today and was excited to try since it is a beautiful place. Way overpriced for microwaved canned green beans and two sad little golf ball sized "Krab" cakes. They seem to use Mrs. Paul's fish triangles as a fish & chip entree. My father had the Country Fried Chicken and it was basically pressed frozen chicken patties with some strange gravy. The chips and salsa were stale chips from a bag with what tasted like canned salsa. The only thing that tasted fresh was the coleslaw and BLT salad. Very poor quality food for a $50.00 lunch bill with my kids and parents. Everything is basically frozen and dropped in a fryer or nuked in the microwave. The order at the hostess stand lunch plan is a joke, bad idea that seems to be a tactic to not having to hire quality servers. No one checked on us throughout the meal even though the sad sack manager was walking around aimlessly. I did get a nice free Tog Dawg Tavern to go cup. read more

I thought I'd give this a whirl since it's near where I live. Given the name, I was looking forward to an interesting southern twist on hot dogs. I was a little nervous with reading the reviews on here but i knew i had to try for myself! Not only was the service top notch but the wings were delicious! Our server Paige was extremely friendly and was always making sure things were good and if we needed anything. Also Matt from the bar showing us all the different beer options they had. They must have read their previous reviews and made sure to fix everything that was wrong. Hands down i will definitely be back! I went once closer to when it had first opened, and it wasn't that great. But recently we tried it again, and I gotta say, they've really upped their game here. I encourage others who had the same experience to try it again. They have a great drink menu, and the food was pretty darn good. I ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and mac n' cheese and ate every single bite. It was delicious and I was surprised. The service was great. Great environment but bad service and equally bad food. Everything tastes like it was frozen for too long. You could seriously get better food from a fast food restraint nearby. We've been there twice and both times it took 30+ minutes to get even water. This isn't the kind of place I go to to spend 2 hours at for a meal...I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

The facility is first class. The bar and the outdoor seating are especially nice. It's an excellent sports bar. The hostess's were all very nice. We had to wait about 25-30 minutes, but the staff was pleasant and courteous. The cost is on the expensive end of sports bar food. The food seems to be average or slightly below average. We had the chips and salsa appetizer. It was sub-par and the salsa tasted like it was straight from a can of store bought salsa with the chips being straight out of a bag. I had the flat bread pizza which was mediocre. It was luke warm and fairly bland. The Cajun chicken on top of the pizza was tough. Overall, it was very bland and I would not order it again. My friend had a grilled chicken salad. She said it was average and that the chicken was tough and tasted microwaved. However, it did come in a neat "crooked" bowl. The wait staff messed up our bill by first running my credit card with only half the cost of the meal and then running the entire bill. While trying to figure out what they had done, the managers seemed a little annoyed with the whole thing and acted like I had made a mistake. All I had done was given them a credit card to pay for dinner. All this being said, I think this place will be a success because there is nothing around this area. It was packed during dinner time, although when I was seated I did notice about 4-5 open booths while people were being made to wait. Sometimes location trumps the quality of food and a restaurant will be a financial success, at least until something better comes along. If you're in the mood for a nice sports bar with mediocre food, then this is the place for you. read more

Always a great place until tonight. The waitress reached over my fiancee s plate twice, but the topper was when she was cleaning of the table and her ARM PIT is touching the rim of my drink. Needless to say I didn't finish my drink or meal. Money wasted. This was the first bad experience but it's one I'll never forget. Sick and she didn't even check on us except to get money. Recently, I went to Top Dawg, the first time I went was during the car show and Megan was our server on the patio. She was very attentive and kept my water glass full. The second time I went, I sat at the bar with Ashley. She told me the lunch specials and even when she got very busy she still checked on me multiple times. If you go to Top Dawg, I recommend sitting with either one of these ladies. :) Keep up the good work! read more

I haven't been to Top Dawg Tavern much in the past, but after this visit, I think I'll be coming back with some friends more often. The staff was super friendly as soon as we walked in the door and got us seated quickly. I really appreciate the effort they took in asking us about our plans for the weekend and just engaging in simple conversation. This place has the best make your own salads which rival any upscale restaurant. I'm not a hot dawg fan, but theirs are all beef & really tasty. Try some of those onion rings too. A yummy heart attach waiting for us! read more

The wife and I were here again tonight and yet another good meal with good service. She had the Crispy Chicken Salad and I had the Cajun Tilapia. Huge salad and the fish was seasoned perfectly. We love the Blue Cheese Slaw. read more

I like the outdoor covered patio. My husband and I got the soft pretzels and were impressed. I built my own salad and loved it. Hubby got the chicken bbq nachos and loved them. They could add some additional menu items. They do have a good draft beer selection. read more

I enjoy Top Dawg for it's Patio and service first, the menu seems to be a little lacking. The build your own salads are great-but I would love to see some other healthy alternatives. A veggie burger would round out the menu for those of us that don't want salad every day. read more

This place is awesome. I have tried at least five different things off the menu and they were all delicious. Our waitress Megan was incredible she was very nice. Tentative and cater to our every need with a smile. With service like that I will continue to go again and again. If you've never been there before this is a must try you won't be disappointed. From the looks of the reviews I guess I should have ordered curbside, because after our service experience I will never be going back to top dawg anytime soon. I know everyone is having a hard time in the service industry, but when I take my family out for a celebratory dinner and spend $75 to receive shit service I feel the need to at least warn others not to waste their money. CHICK FIL A HAS BETTER SERVICE THEN THIS PLACE! With two kids and a late dinner, I can list a laundry list of things that weren't done right. No silverware, no plates for appetizers, no drink refills because the waitress was too busy eating her own dinner in the dining area. Manager could care less, had the audacity to try to cover for the waitress as to why all our drinks were empty prior to our dinner coming out. No offer to comp our appetizer or anything! Food was hot, but not great. Fish, like other reviews said, fried, overdone, frozen fish, soggy vegetables, and the fried green tomatoes were the worst! Who puts potato skin toppings on a fried green tomatoe? Guess sports bars that are out of everything do! That's worth a mention as well, out of sweet tea, dr. Pepper, onion rings, potato skins I could go on. Just pathetic. They need new management and service staff before I ever go back in that place! read more

We stopped here for a late night bite on 9/7 on the way home from the GA game. There was live music on the patio, so we decided to sit out there...HUGE mistake. As soon as our food came out, we saw GIANT roaches ambushing the whole patio. One of them ended up on the table beside us and the group of guys jumped up and went inside. A waitress came out to bring the guys their food, we told her they went inside because of all the roaches (which were visible bc they were EVERYWHERE), and she said "well I'm not gonna chase them all over the restaurant." We again told her that a roach landed on their table and that they were crawling on the wall into the open window by the bar, and that we would be heading inside too. No apology, no nothing. Once we were inside, we had no appetite due to the Sasquatch roaches. We never got refills, had to flag someone down for silverware and our check, the food was less than mediocre, and everyone acted as if the roaches were frequent visitors and no big deal. When we went to Top Dawg we were hoping that it would be a great place to eat since we are limited on restaurants in Winder, but this was far from it! Lunches are served more as a fast food restaurant (which we learned at the end of our meal) so the drink station and trash cans are in the front where guests are waiting for tables. During our dinner we watched the bus boys carry dirty plates through the restaurant to the front and then watched them empty the trash cans and carry the bags back through the restaurant to the kitchen area while we ate. We even got to see them carry 2 buckets full of ice to fill the drink station. It was a very poor designing! The menu is okay but has no descriptions at all so when you order something you really don't know what is coming on it. I got the cajun chicken flat bread pizza and had I known that it was going to be loaded with spinach I would not have ordered it. My husband was nice enough to trade me his grilled chicken sandwich, but after 1 bite of the sandwich I realized that I would rather not eat! The chicken had no seasoning on it and tasted like it had been cooked in the microwave. There was no sauce on it so you got a microwaved chicken, brown shredded lettuce, and 1 tomato, good thing it came on garlic texas toast so at least you had that flavor. We could have gotten past the poor design for good food, but since that didn't happen either we def would NEVER go back (even if the food was free). Such a disappointment!!! read more

Sorry to say that things at Top Dawg while not terrible could be better and are not improving. Service is slow - always has been. Food is ok. Don't often order a drink but on a whim splurged with a Long Island Iced Tea only to be shocked at the $12.50 price for 1 drink. Have never paid that anywhere even for top shelf. Last week we were surprised that they have added live music - on a Wednesday evening starting at 6:00. Way too early. Don't know what the music schedule is by day and don't plan to find out. There are limited low tables (there are too may high tops) and all the low tables are right in front of the music. So much for conversation. For the price I was expecting something special; to my dismay, it was mediocre at best. Granted the burger was pretty good. Everything else was run-of-the-mill, pre-packaged, pre-jarred, and pre-canned. The french fries are low quality, frozen, bagged, shoestring style; half were so hard that they cut the roof of the mouth. Salsa tasted like store bought Tostitos and the bar-b-q sauce tasted like KC Masterpiece. The chicken nuggets also tasted frozen and bagged; there was more breading than chicken. Honestly, it seems to be another make-a-quick-buck food joint. For the price, the food needs to be fresh and prepared daily. I would compare it to the low quality, cookie cutter, box houses that dominated the 90's. It's about making as much money as possible offering sub par quality rather than creating a legacy. read more

I was very happy to find this place. I would give the food 3 stars. The menu is a little strange but we tried the pot roast, wings and a burger and all were fine. In the future I will probably stick to salads and wings. But the service was very good and it was just a charming place. The patio and bar area are great. When a drunken customer began to harass us and interrupt our meal the staff took care of it promptly. Great beverage selection. We will be back. read more

If there was a negative 5 I would give this fake burger place. I was a bit suspicious when our orders arrived in just 3 minutes after ordering. When I bit into my burger the truth was known. It was a precooked Patty then microwaved to order. There is no other way for food to be so hot all the way thru like that unless it was microwaved. I have cooked for many years and it is a crime to call this food. The worse place on earth. To say the food sucks would be a compliment. The Place is very nice and staff is OK. Oh BTW hair in the food. Oops! OK that happens sometimes but not a good impression. Won't be back ever! Good luck Top Dawn you'll need it.
