We are just thrilled with the service we received when we went to Top Dog Grooming. We have taken our puppy Marley to 2 different places and we very disappointed. They only did a light trim when we wanted a her hair cut and she would be there for several hours. We took Marley in today and Penny listened to what we wanted. I have had a lot of dogs over my lifetime and have never taken any of them to a groomer.i was a little nervous. I have a westie and when i got her, she had severe allergies and pulled out a lot of her hair. It has grown back so she needed a clip. I am very picky about how I wanted her to look. I showed the groomer a photo of what I wanted just to make sure we both knew what I was looking for. So I was very disappointed when I got home and really l looked at the clipping job. It looked like they split her down the middle and 2 separate people clipped her. The pricing was comparable to petsmart but I will not be taking her back to get her groomed here. read more

Penny is AMAZING! She did such a great job with my big dog that is kind of skiddish. Just make sure you bring cash to tip the groomer. They cannot add it to and debit or credit card transactions. read more

I got my 9 year old Shih Tzu done here and the women who did him was not that great. Some of his nails were filed too much and the raw part was exposed and she didn't get all small little knots on his stomach. She also shaved him super short when I didn't ask her to. I wasn't that specific on how short I wanted her to go, so that last part is whatever. When I picked my dog up I asked her "Oh you couldn't get all of these?" and pointed to the 10 -15 tiny hair knots on his lower stomach. She just said, "Oh I thought I did! I'll get those for you!" and she took him back and shaved him really quick. There was still like 5 knots though... I've never had this issue before so maybe she needs glasses? read more

I am sorry to leave this review as we have been bringing our dogs here for over 15 years, but this place has been going down hill since the owner sadly passed and today was the final straw. The staff has become increasingly rude and actually turned us away on two occasions for a nail trim, even though they always say nail trims are walk ins, no appointment needed. It wouldn't have been as bad, but the two women working during the week that turned us away were rude and asked me how could I possibly expect them to work on a dog like mine. I have two very sweet labs, which are calm and do not resist when they get their nails done. Yesterday, I brought the dogs in and after bringing them home found that ones paw had been clipped and was bleeding. I called top dog today to speak with them about what happened and their response was "Maybe you should stay with the dogs when they get their nails done because you have complained a couple of times now (I assume in reference to when I complained about the rude staff to the manager). I cannot believe they would treat a customer like this. Judging from the other reviews, I am not the only one experiencing this change in the service provided by top dog. After today's conversation with them I will no longer be bringing my dogs here or recommending this place to anyone else. read more

I brought my dog in on Saturday 6/18 to be groomed. He is a special needs dog with hip problems and needs frequent breaks when being shaved. A typical visit would take between 4-6 hours. We specifically requested that he get breaks while being groomed and we were reassured he would be okay and they could accommodate him as they have many senior dogs with similar issues. We expected him to be there for at least 4 hours, from a prior visit and their estimation, however after only 2 1/2 hours they called to say he was ready. When we got him home he had a huge gash on his leg from he clippers and his ears were filthy. Furthermore he couldn't move his neck to the left. We called to see if there were any issues during his visit and were told no. We proceeded to take him to the vet where we learn he had likely strained and bruised his neck perhaps from being made to stand for so long while being attached to the table? Who knows because no one at the groomers seemed to know why he was acting this way. This is so disappointing and unacceptable. Now my dog has pain medication and cannot move his neck. I will never return to your facility or recommend you to any of my dog loving friends. read more

Top Dog is AMAZING!! I have a ten year old shitzu named Ted who has hair that grows really fast and mattes easily. I've been going there for years now and every time the groomers are so sweet to him and he leaves looking like a completely different dog. He has a pep to his step and seems so happy. Also, they will accept walk in's for nail trims, etc. Not to mention the prices are so much more affordable than the popular corporate options. I would recommend Top Dog to anyone!! We are full-time RVers so we need to take our dog to a new groomer every few months. Top Dog was excellent with our very nervous Bichon. Our little Bichon was a rescue from a puppy mill and we have had her only eight months. She does not like strangers and can nip when she gets frighten. Top Dog new this ahead of time but took her anyway. They did an excellent job of handling her and she came back looking beautiful. I hope we can find another groomer down the road as good as Top Dog. read more

I have a large, double-coated spitz breed. His coat is by no means an easy job, and he typically requires 4 hours of work. Their prices reasonable, but the quality of the work is highly dependent on who you get. I don't remember the names of the groomers unfortunately. The young man who is also the manager has always done a pretty good job on my dog's coat. There is a young woman there who is really awful at her job and at customer service. I picked my dog up after one appointment and he had several mats left in his coat. I pointed them out to her and she admitted to not finishing the job because she didn't have enough time. I asked her why she was still charging me the full amount for an incomplete job and she shrugged her shoulders and looked away. She didn't even offer to set up another appointment to finish the work. The second time she groomed my dog (and I had specifically requested that it not be her), again he had mats left in his fur AND she cut the back of my dog's anus with the clippers (my dog's vet agreed that that was the likely mechanism of how he was injured). If you have a dog with a straightforward coat, this place will probably be just fine, but if you have a breed that requires more attention to detail, I'd look elsewhere. read more
