I ordered 1 small hot coffee black and 1 small hot coffee with milk and sugar, both came black and luke warm. No stirrer, no napkins. The bagels with bacon egg and cheese were squishy but ok. The girl at the counter was mumbling some cursives under her breath, clearly unhappy and spreading no cheer. I'll be going to dunkin where at least their attitude is pleasant. read more

This place is the best. The donuts are fresh, flavorful, coffee is just right, not gourmet, great Lowell coffee. I could not see how anyone can go to Dunkins, after going here. I've been many times... my kids love the donuts and the apple fritters. We often get one or two dozen apple fritters when we need to bring a desert somewhere to share. I sometimes ask to have the fritters cut in half, this has never been a problem. Yesterday it was. The very unpleasant young girl behind the counter rolled her eyes and exhaled (it was like asking an15 year old to clean her room). She cut them. Then, before she handed me the box, she spoke to an older lady that seemed to be the manager. The manager said "We cut these before? We don't do that". They treated me like I was stealing from them, it was 5pm and there was only two customers there. Very, very bad customer service. When a customer asks to cut the donuts, smile and cut them! Go to a sub shop, ask to have the sub cut in four, no problem, please come again. Ask the pizza guy to cut the pie into 16 pieces, no problem, please come again. But when you ask the kid at Top Donut, you get treated terribly. Not what I have come to expect from this place... the short guy who is usually there is very nice to everyone. read more

Great coffee, great price great staff! Coffee is much better than D&D. They have a great selection of flavored coffees. Their breakfast egg sandwiches actually resemble eggs. The place is spotless and they actually ask you not to tip. The tax is included in the price of a coffee, so if your coffee cost $1.75, you expect a quarter in change back from your two dollars(who doesn't love quarters). The Top Donut on Aiken St is a little larger than the one on Bridge St, so they have a better selection of pastries. Their idea of 1 sugar is actually 1 sugar, so you may need a couple of tries before you you know the right amount if you have been get your coffe from D&D. The traffic in and out of the Aiken St location can be tricky, but it's worth it. read more

I was happy to find the rare filled maple donuts here. No one in my family thought these were great. My teeth felt weirdly sticky, grimy. This has never happened before to me with any other donuts. The taste is OK. It doesn't seem as easy to digest. The donut I had felt heavy. I really feel bad that there are no tips allowed. I think reasoning that employees might disparage nontippers is not a very good reason. It seems sad. employee morale seems a little low. I had an iced coffee. It was not that great. My son thought it was weird that the employee helping us kept looking at the TV like she was mesmerized. She was not impatient or rude but it is still offputting. read more

I was craving a decent bagel and some coffee so I was excited to see this new (to me) coffee place along the road. It's not bad, but it's not great and certainly not memorable. The staff behind the counter were pleasant enough although I felt like they were yelling at us by how loudly they would ask questions. It was a little unsettling. The list of coffee flavors is definitely interesting- we tried banana and toasted marshmallow. Both tasted pretty good. We ordered an egg and cheese on a bagel and it honestly was not that good. They didn't toast the bagel and they somehow managed to burn the egg. I also didn't care for their cash only policy. I saw a run down ATM in the corner behind the door, but I don't think I would have felt comfortable using it if I didn't have cash on me. To their credit, there is a sign on the door that informs you well before you go inside and order that it is cash only. I'd go back but it wouldn't be the first place on my list in the Lowell area. read more

Very good breakfast pastries and donuts. For the price and size of items, you can't beat it! Coffee is not the best but it is not bad either. Top Donut has the BEST glazed donuts in the area. They are perfect yeast-risen, chewy, round delights of sweet goodness. Yum!

I walked in expecting a great coffee and sausage egg and cheese based off of things i heard from friends. This was by far the worst experience in a coffee shop i have had so far in my life. I walked in and ordered a large iced caramel black and a sausage egg and cheese. The counter girl said they had no caramel left so I asked for french vanilla instead. A minute later she came back with what seemed to be a large milk with a splash of coffee, but i just decided to take it as is, and the counter girl said my sausage egg and cheese will be out in a minute. I decide to sit down close to the counter so once my sandwich was ready I could go right up and get it. While waiting, Itake a few sips of my coffee and I realized that there was enough sugar in my coffee to give a cocaine addict a heart attack. Disgusted by my coffee, I put it aside and sat on my phone for a few minutes waiting for them to call me over for my sandwich. Shortly after this, it hit me that I had been waiting a little long for my sandwhich when only 2 other customers came and ordered after but got their food before me. This is when I decided to go ask when my sandwich would be ready, and when I asked they thought I was lying and the same girl who took my order checked the register recipts to make sure I wasnt lying. After 2 minutes of this exchange, they finally decide to make my sandwich, which i got in less than a minute, which was the first upside of being there so far. This satisfaction didn't last long since there was no egg, just sausage and cheese. As disappointing as this experience was I would have to say the worst part of this experience would be the attitude and customer service of the employees 0/10, if you're looking for coffee that is slightly better than theirs, I would highly recommend bleach. sticking with starbucks! read more

Best Dunut Shop EVER! Seriously. I use to live in Lowell I visit often. Every time I go to Lowell i stop and get an iced and i get a large hot black to take home and have the next morning. If I lived in Lowell I would just have my direct deposit go right to them, I would be there 2/3 times a day. I have always been a dunks girl until recently. I live right off bridge st so there's a dunks and top donut about 100 feet from my house. I have been very disappointed by dunks lately and decided to give top donut a try. WOW! I was blown away by their banana ice coffee and I was a little hungry I love peace and they have a peace muffin sooo moist it just makes my morning. The staff is friendly and quick. Very clean and well put together. Only thing I would change is them to be able to take cards I think it would put them ahead of dunks. read more

We got Boston Cream, chocolate cruller, some sort of apple doughnut pastry, and an old fashioned sort of chocolate frosted. They were all so delicious. I can't speak for the coffee but I do like their doughnuts. They make their own doughnuts/pastries each day and they are much better than Dunkin's lies they call doughnuts. I LOVE their apple fritters! The service is fast and efficient and much more pleasant than neanderthals you typically get at Dunkins. The are cheaper than Dunkins too. Cash only which is a pain but they do have an ATM right inside the store. read more

I have never had their coffee but I heard it's bad. The donuts however are the best I've had since I was a kid. Always made fresh on premises and tastes it. If you prefer Dunky's trucked in frozen donuts when they sit outside for 3 hours then you wont like Top Donut. Don't not try these donuts before you die or you'll be sorry. read more

Everything is superb. They give very generous proportions, especially for the price. For example, they give 2 eggs on all croissant sandwiches, as opposed to places such as Dunkin Donuts which give one. Coffee is delicious and smooth. If you do get flavoring, personally I get mocha, there is no syrup stuck to the bottom of your cup, it is all blended seamlessly. For they man who complained about the cash only policy, they do in fact have an ATM in their store for that exact purpose. i will really miss this place when i leave for college. read more
