I visited 24 Hour Fitness yesterday and witnessed an incident that left me feeling uncomfortable…read moreand possibly unsafe. An older customer directed racist language and derogatory comments toward another member, and the situation escalated quickly. At one point, I felt that the older man's behavior became threatening, by saying what he would do to the black guy after he responded to him for speaking down to him. When the black guy said your mama, after being called a slur, I was sure things were way past fixing. The interaction felt hostile rather than respectful or appropriate for a gym environment. When the other member stood up and responded, the older man left to speak with management. From what I observed, it appeared management may have taken the older man's side without fully understanding what was happening. I've also seen this same customer act rudely toward others in the past, particularly around personal space and how he interacts with members waiting for or using equipment. I'm reporting this because threats and racist conduct have no place in a fitness facility. I have experienced it also but I hope management takes complaints seriously, investigates thoroughly, and ensures members feel safe.

What truly deserves five stars is the customer service I received from Jenna. I spoke with her over the phone, and she went out of her way to help me adjust my membership so I wasn't paying for extra things I didn't need. She was patient, clear, and genuinely focused on helping me out. It's rare to get that level of care, especially over the phone, and she made the whole process easy. Big shoutout to Jenna--she's the reason this review is 5 stars.

Giving a shout out to all the amazing Pilates Instructors at LA Fitness: Angela, Danae, Mia,…read moreChelsea, Fatma & Irene. I haven't taken classes with the weekday mornings' instructors but I'm sure they are really good too! They teach classes where students are at different fitness levels and attitudes too lol. The instructors do an amazing job of correcting your form, providing modifications (always ask if something starts to hurt), and they also push you harder, especially if they have seen you in previous classes. My twin sister was in town and joined me last minute to a class with Angela! She's amazing, tough and nice enough to take a picture with us! My twin loved the class so much that she's looking into joining her local LA Fitness. My favorite part is the stretching leg circles & frog with the ropes at the end of class. I definitely come to class for "me" time and to shut the noise of work and the world.

Their isnt a lunchtime class or afternoon on weekends. So I have to go to 4s Ranch location. The sales pitch is a 1 star. I already knew I was going to come here. I just wanted them to work with me, instead they ended up making me rethink it. I almost said forget it. Their was a lot of "I have $20 voucher but I'm waiting to give to the next person if you dont claim it in an hour" then the next call was, "if you go somewhere else, its just going to cost you $300, so you might as well sign up now" I really dont like BS sales pitches, especially if im telling you I want to join just work with me. Luckily, a sales rep from another location signed me up no problem. The facility is clean, has lots of options and have had no issue since.

This is the trainer. I would not recommend taking a class with him as he instructs the same way he acts: poorly.

24 HOUR FITNESS @ UTC LA JOLLA…read more Parking is available on the first floor of the Genesee Avenue parking garage. If you're visiting with the 5-day free pass, I highly recommend entering through this entrance because it can be a little confusing to find the gym since it's located underneath the UTC mall. One great perk is that 24 Hour Fitness validates an additional two hours of parking on top of UTC's free one-hour parking, giving you a total of three hours to work out and even do a little shopping afterward. This was actually my first time ever visiting a 24 Hour Fitness. Since I live so close to UTC, I've always wanted to check it out, especially because it's open 24 hours. I originally signed up for the free 5-day trial, but after taking a quick tour, the salesperson was incredibly friendly and even gave me $15 off the regular membership price. That made it an easy decision to sign up. I'm a pretty low-maintenance gym person, so all I really care about is having a clean, spacious gym with plenty of equipment, and this location definitely delivers. There are lots of free weights, machines, and plenty of equipment for both upper and lower body workouts. I also love that they offer cycling classes and are adding Pilates classes soon, which is a huge bonus. My only real complaint is that it can get very crowded during peak hours, especially in the mornings and evenings. Luckily, I work remotely, so I have the flexibility to go during off-peak times when it's much less busy. If you have a flexible schedule, I think you'll have a much better experience. Another feature I really enjoy is the recovery amenities. They have both a sauna and a steam room, which are perfect after a tough workout. My membership only costs $47 a month, which is honestly much cheaper than some of the smaller boutique gyms I've belonged to before. It also includes a guest buddy pass, making it easy to bring a friend along. Overall, I've had a great experience with this 24 Hour Fitness. While it can get crowded during busy times, the spacious facility, wide variety of equipment, group fitness classes, recovery amenities, convenient location, and affordable membership make it a gym I would definitely recommend trying.

Renovation? You Mean Rearranging?…read more I've been a member of this gym for almost 5 years, and honestly, it feels like it has gone downhill despite all the promises. For months we were told broken equipment would not be repaired because a major renovation was coming. Fair enough. Except now the "renovation" is supposedly complete, and I'm struggling to figure out what was actually renovated. Rearranging equipment is not a renovation. The cardio machines were moved and now many of them are literally sitting underneath the TVs, making the layout awkward and poorly thought out. The cycling room had the bikes removed and placed outside the room, while the space appears to have been filled with concrete and construction debris. The solution for ventilation in the expanded weight area seems to be one giant fan expected to cool the entire room. We were also told the outside turf area was being turned into a pickleball court. First of all, who is playing pickleball at a 24-hour gym 24/7? Second, there is no visible sign that an actual pickleball court is being constructed. The area is just blocked off so members can't use it anymore. It feels random, pointless, and honestly very weird. The cleanliness has become one of the biggest concerns. The water fountains are disgusting. There is visible rust, mineral buildup, dust, and grime around the drinking areas. These are not just cosmetic issues anymore; they feel like a health concern. Looking at them makes you question whether they are being maintained at all. The gym also seems to have given up on broken equipment. I think they've even run out of "Out of Order" signs because machines stay broken for so long without any real indication of whether they are being repaired or replaced. What's most frustrating is that they held a "Grand Reopening" last week. Grand reopening for what exactly? The construction area still looks unfinished, equipment is still broken, the water fountains look like they belong in an abandoned building, and the overall experience has not improved. Their slogan is "24 Hour Fitness - Do More." Maybe it's time they took their own advice.

I've been coming to Fitness4ward for over a year, and it's been a life changer. I started coming…read morehere because I'd had a lot of medical procedures that left my health in shambles. I checked out other gyms, but this was definitely the best because: 1. An emphasis on strength and conditioning. I wanted more than just cardio, cardio, cardio. It was going to take more than just cardio to get my health back. I needed a well-rounded program that would build muscle and endurance. 2. Training quality. A lot of gyms have you just follow an app and speed through circuits, but I wanted actual people who could teach me correct form and give me personalized, real feedback. If I was going to follow an app, I could honestly just do that at home with an app from my phone, and it would be a fraction of the price with similar quality. The coaches at Fitness4ward are excellent, and a lot of the older members are extremely knowledgeable and happy to help too. 3. Pricing. It's actually a better deal per workout when compared to most chain gyms. If you want to work out consistently more than just twice a week, this gym is very affordable. (I come around 3 to 4 times a week.) I got my health back thanks to this gym. Before, I couldn't even walk my dogs for ten minutes without facing severe physical consequences for the rest of the day. Not only have I recovered my health, but I've fallen in love with working out in and of itself. It's surprising and exhilarating to push your body and mind out of your comfort zone and have it reach new limits that you thought were possible for everyone but yourself. And don't be intimidated by the program or the more experienced members! I never felt like anyone was judging me when I was brand new and couldn't even do three push ups. I'm still not the best even now, but I don't feel intimidated or judged. Everyone is at different levels and has a different story My husband is coming out with me now too, and we are both grateful to have a great gym where we can improve and maintain our health

And the owner responded that if I want a "Cheaper" option there are other gyms I could go to. Was hugely disappointed as the same thing he mentioned on second day that time I did not even ask anything. I ended up not continuing, disappointed with the quality of treatment I received on trial days. I said maybe because the set of exercises was good. If you don't mind the way you are answered and treated and main objective is to workout go for it.
