Super clean gym with great air conditioning and ventilation. Clean, private bathrooms, two with showers. Very friendly, helpful staff. I feel very safe there no matter what time of day or night I go--members can only enter with a FOB and the door remains closed and locked at all times. Smaller than other big-name gyms, but I really like it that way because of the cleanliness, security, and super comfortable workout environment there. The equipment is great, the staff is super friendly, and the gym is rarely overcrowded, which makes the membership worth it. However, I really wish Anytime Fitness Poway would reconsider the cleaning products and fragrances being used throughout the gym. When you walk in, you are immediately hit with an overwhelming mix of strong cleaning chemicals and synthetic fragrances. Between the cleaning products, heavily fragranced wipes, and products like Febreze, the smell is difficult to ignore, especially when you're breathing heavily during a workout. I completely understand that a gym needs to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. However, it is 2026, and there are so many effective fragrance-free and lower-toxicity alternatives available. There is also a growing body of research and legitimate health concerns surrounding unnecessary exposure to all these chemicals found in fragranced cleaning products. These chemicals have raised concerns regarding reproductive health, hormone disruption, and cancer risk. What I find especially ironic is seeing "Healthy 24/7" on the walls while being surrounded by such strong synthetic fragrances. People come to the gym because they are trying to improve their health, so creating a cleaner indoor environment seems like it should be part of that mission too. I've also noticed cleaning staff wearing masks while using these products, which makes me even more concerned about what employees and members are regularly breathing in. Please consider switching to fragrance-free, safer cleaning alternatives and eliminating products like Febreze from the gym. "Fragrance" on an ingredient label can represent numerous toxic ingredients, and many people are sensitive to strongly scented products even beyond concerns about these chemicals. Again, the equipment, staff, and lack of overcrowding are all huge positives. I just hope Anytime Fitness will take indoor air quality and unnecessary fragrance exposure as seriously as the other aspects of creating a healthy environment, for both members and employees. read more

I am definitely the last person you'd expect to see at the gym lol, but here's to making healthier decisions for ourselves, right? I like coming here because it's never really crowded and I'm able to get in and get out as I please. Even when I come in around peak hours, i'm still able to find a station to workout at. The gym itself is small, yes, but it has all of the essentials you need. There are also no locker rooms or sauna rooms at this location, but you do get a private bathroom (which honestly works for me cause I like my privacy). The staff at this location are great (they get a 5/5 alone for that). Everyone's super friendly and easy to work with/ talk to. Whenever I have questions and I'm there during the staffed hours, I never felt like I was being an inconvenience. If you're looking for a gym that isn't your typical intimidating and crowded gym like 24 or LA, give this gym a try! Plus it's open 24 hours! Less machine varieties compare to fitness 24, LA fitness, ect... Staff 5 out of 5! Amanda the manager is amazing and very personable. There's not one day she does not greet the guest. The gym equipment works for me. This place has everything I need to get a good workout in. However, the only reason this place doesn't get a 5 out of 5 is because it can get packed very fast. There isn't as much space as I'm used to seeing at other anytime fitnesses. The ramona anytime has 2 levels same as the one in San Marcos. By far my favorite gym yet! It's been about five years since I'd stepped foot in a gym just because of life, but I finally decided it was time to work off my quarantine weight. My wife goes to a private gym already but she reached out to Anytime online for the both of us since it's pretty close. Shortly after, she received an email from Amanda the GM who invited us in. Amanda gave us a very thorough your before we sat in her office to discuss options. I was very happy with the interaction and it was a no pressure discussion. We ended up enrolling on the spot and I went back later that night for my first workout at Anytime. I really enjoy the layout, the fact that it's not overly crowded and the fact that it doesn't smell like dirty socks. Best gym in town! I used to have a membership with 24 hour, I was overpaying and the gym was always packed. I setup an appointment with Amanda and she helped me get everything situated in under 15 minutes and was clear on all of the costs. Gave me a really good price for the membership and gave me a one on one tour upon signing up. The staff keep it tidy and clean all the time. Other members are pretty nice as well which makes it a friendly workout environment. I don't think I will ever get an another gym membership anywhere else. read more

My husband and I got our membership together. We were told it was for a year and then we'd be able to cancel. We moved about two hours away so when the year hit, we called several times, until about a week later somebody finally answered and said "you were paying month to month. I could've sent the papers for you to cancel anytime" so we fill out the papers for the 30 cancellation notice FOR US BOTH!! I filled them out for us both and sent them both back. I even called to make sure that they received them and they were done correctly. Fast forward to 7 months after we cancelled and my husband checks his bank statement to see we are still being charged. So we called and ask about it and the worker had said "we don't even have anything here that would cost that amount but I can have a manager call you on Monday" here we are on Monday being told that only my husbands membership was canceled, not mine. The place is friendly and welcoming, and a great staff that is *on it* when it comes to monitoring and caring for the sanitization and cleanliness of the gym--- especially now in these times! I've been here for a little over a year and can easily say this is one of the best gyms you will ever go to. Not only that, but it is the best Anytime Fitness you will ever go to. I've been to other locations in and out of California, and the Poway location is by far the best one. Don't judge this gym on its size. EQUIPMENT: All of their equipment is in good or like-new condition. I love that the equipment for the freestyle room is fully stocked. They have bands, weights, balls, kettlebells that go up to 60lbs, and more! I love that the weight area has a variety of attachments, like an ankle strap (a lot of gyms don't!). They also have a filtered water fountain near the bathrooms (2 bathrooms per gender, 1 each having a spacious shower) CLEANLINESS: This location is always very clean. I feel that both staff and members care about maintaining a clean and hygienic gym. CROWDEDNESS: Not really an issue. There's only been a few times where i felt it was too busy for me. I like that everyone here is nice and there's a sense of community amongst the members. You can ask "can I use this when you're done?" without fear of getting an attitude lol. I feel that that the members here are serious about their fitness goals. Why is that important? When hitting goals, it's important to be around like-minded people! I hate going to gyms where I see girls with a full face of makeup on just sitting on the machines, or guys walking around just to check out girls. None of that happens here. I also like that this gym has members of all ages, sizes, and ethnicities. STAFF: The staff is the best part about this gym. The manager Amanda is very nice and professional. Has everything you need for a complete workout... the equipment looks brand new, free weights up to more than anyone needs, benches, machines, racks, kettle bells, etc. Everyone is super friendly, the gym is incredibly clean, and easy parking as well. Starbucks and health shops are a 20 second walk away. Great location and equipment, really couldn't ask for more. A couple of the reviews seem a bit off, clearly some are generally negative in anything they come across (see almost half of their other reviews are 1's), have far too much time on their hands, or ignore basic stuff that every other business has in place. I joined this gym as a last resort because my normal gym shut down during the pandemic. The gym is clean which is nice, but it's WAY overpriced for what you get; it's small with limited equipment. As I said, I really had no choice. I committed to 6 months to get the lower (still pricey) monthly rate. When I went to cancel about 10 days before the end of my 6-month term, I find out that their "policy", which is in the fine print, is to notify them 30 days in advance before cancelling. This is the most ridiculous policy I've ever seen at a gym, and we all know it's meant to gouge another month's premium from exiting customers; zero functional purpose for its existence. When I asked the General Manager why this policy exists, she didn't answer except that I signed the agreement and need to pay up. Beware of the the scam. read more

All the staff members at this gym are awesome and so very helpful and kind. My mother and I have been members of this gym for several years. Amanda, Holli and TJ are so kind and so sweet to my 93-year-old mother that goes to this gym at least 5 times a week, (more than I do, Ha Ha). They treat her with so much respect. This gym is always clean and so very well organized. The equipment is always cleaned and in great shape. My mother and I both feel so much at home at this gym and just love it. I signed up for a membership at this gym years ago, about 2 months into having the membership, my mom went into hospice and I had to move to Joshua tree to take care of her. I told them the situation and was told they could freeze my account for 3 months. 2 months into my account being frozen I contacted them again and told them that move out to Joshua tree was going to be indefinite. They told me since there was no gym in that area they could cancel my membership for me. A few years later, now I have a charged off account on my credit for $1400.00. I went here because I had just visited one of these locations in Havasu, AZ while on vacation and LOVED it! Everything about it. The gym was nice and big, super nice people, easy access, no red tape. So I was excited to get home and check out the one right by my house. Complete opposite. Horrible customer service. The guy I talked to about joining had no answers for me and then didn't call back like he said he would. I tried calling again, same guy, no answers, no call back. I've been going here for a while and had no complaints, I didn't talk to anyone here only one guy to say hi and the managers when I needed help. I'm giving one star because I got a call from Amanda and she said she received Multiple complaints from members about me taking long showers and Making loud phone calls. What I don't understand is how are going to tell me to go out side when I have phone calls when the only thing I use is the rest room anyhow every time I asked where in there policy does it say no phone calls, she avoided the question Threatening me saying if you can't follow our rules, then they will deny me access to the facility. She also use that same threat because she didn't like the tone i was talking to her in while over the phone to shut me up i guess. I absolutely love Anytime Fitness! Amanda the general manager, is very hospitable, kind and welcoming. The gym is extremely clean and everyone wears masks at all times. There is a great amount of lifting equipment, free weights and cardio machines. The showers are very clean and include complimentary shampoo, conditioner and soap. When you join you can get a free hour with a personal trainer which is an awesome perk! I am so happy to be a member at Anytime Fitness and would highly recommend this gym. Watch out for the unauthorized charges in addition to the monthly fee. I get banged for an additional $20 on my credit card and I have no idea what it's for nor has anybody bothered to explain it to me or ask me for authorization. Members also like to take snoozes and check their cell phones on the equipment--usually the one YOU want to use. Bad manners, bad etiquette. Equally irritating is the $1 a month promotions they send you after you've committed for a year or two at $33 plus per month. L.A. As someone who's been to many gyms around the San Diego area, Anytime Fitness is my favorite gym so far. They have all the equipment you need for weight training and cardio exercises which are all well maintained and cleaned throughout the day. My favorite part is that it's quiet and not crowded even during peak hours, between 5pm - 8pm. Also, the members are mindful of re-racking their weights which is nice. Their membership price may be on the pricier side but with how well maintained the gym is, it's all worth it. Recommend 100%! read more

We all look to online reviews for information about what businesses do right and how well they do it. Equally important, in my opinion, is how well a business handles their mistakes. I was a member at this location for about 3-4 years, and I generally agree with other favorable reviews here. I could nitpick on a few things -- no paper towels in the bathrooms (the hand dryers roar like a jet engine), the sour, vinegary smell of the cleaner used on the water fountain (this place is kept VERY clean) -- but overall this is a tidy, well-run gym. Late last year I changed jobs and was no longer local; it took me a couple weeks to get around to calling in to cancel my membership, whereupon I was told I would have to come by in person to fill out a form to give 30 days notice. This was not convenient and a bit annoying, but I figured it's probably spelled out somewhere in the membership contract so I went ahead and took care of it. I was billed for the final 30 days, then billed AGAIN 30 days after that. I called right away, geared up for a fight, and left a voicemail when I received no answer. GM Amanda called back almost right away but there was no argument, no excuses; she was polite and genuinely apologetic, and promised to make it right. The refund came through a few days later, and included the 30-day "notice" payment. And that, folks, is how a good business treats its customers. read more
