Plenty of yummy yogurt choices await you at Top It.
    John M.

This place is awesome! And don't let any sour reviews convince you otherwise. First off, the owner is a tremendously personable and friendly guy. Such spectacular service time and time again. Pawit is the kind of small business owner that puts his heart and soul into his establishment, and greets all his customers with such kindness that you really feel like an invited guest. Our family of 5 likes the many choices of yogurt, which are routinely changing so go ahead and visit often. There are also an ample number of topping choices, both the sugary candied kind and a wide variety of fresh fruits--so there really is something to please everyone, and Pawit keeps the toppings bar very clean and well stocked. With all that said, the real reason for my review is the Thai food. The owner of Top It once operated Pawit's Thai restaurant on Murray-Holladay road (where Pig and a Jelly Jar now sits), and after being forced out of his dedicated Thai restaurant location due to rising lease costs, and moving Top It from its former location that was torn down to make way for the new Harmon's in Holladay, they opened the new Top It and brought a sampling of their delicious Thai food to the yogurt shop (although, the Thai cuisine is only available to go). The Thai Yellow Curry Chicken is absolutely delicious! Is has a nice, noticeable but not over powering heat, and a yummy curry flavor. The Pad Thai is also noteworthy, but in all honesty I have to say that the dish is more on the sweet side than I prefer, so for me it takes a back seat to the curry. But please do not leave Top It without ordering the Mango Sticky Rice. Oh my--it is so absolutely delicious! Finally, a couple things to remember about the Top It nay sayers. First, nearly every review under four stars is from 2016 and earlier, when Top It was located in the previous run down location--remember, they tore the entire building down because it was so dated and, frankly, it just had to go. Also, there is a single more recent 2-Star review that is perplexing to me. The reviewer basically had nothing bad to say about Top It, but lowballed it with a deuce anyway--what's up with that? Anyway, trust me on this one. Support a great local small business owner that has salvaged both a neighborhood gem of a yogurt shop and ensured the ongoing legacy of his delicious Thai offerings. Get in to Top It, and do NOT forget the sticky rice.

$17.48 - 1 cone, 1 double-scoop cup, and 1 cup: Golden Passion Fruit, Carmel Cashew & Banana…read moreNutella, Caramel Cashew. We tried to stop here the night before, but the line was about 80 people long. We came back Saturday midday and quickly learned why. While the parking lot was still packed, there was no line once we got inside. And once I started sampling the ice cream, it felt like it was just me floating in the clouds. Across all three flavors, the first thing that stood out was the texture. The Golden Passion Fruit was bright, the Banana Nutella was rich, and the Caramel Cashew was rich. Every scoop was remarkably dense, silky, and creamy. The Golden Passion Fruit was dairy-free, which I'm not entirely sure how that technically qualifies as ice cream. While I have spooned plenty of diary free deserts into my mouth, I have never ordered a dairy free in a commercial creamery so this was going to be a first. But after that first sample, the thought of daily free never crossed my mind. It was dense, rich, smooth, and immensely flavorful. It tasted exactly like the passion fruit I've picked off the trees just minus the seeds. It was bright and was incredibly concentrated. It was outstanding. While this wasn't my order, the person who did order this made the mistake of letting my try their double scoop dish. It was tough to give it back. The Banana Nutella tasted exactly like it sounds. The base was thick, creamy, and custardy with the banana and hazelnut flavors clearly coming through. The Caramel Cashew was also a standout. The caramel brought a deep buttery sweetness while the cashews added a roasted, nutty richness that kept it from becoming overly sweet. In the same dish, those were like rival siblings: they could hang together when they have to, but would prefer the attention be focused solely on them. Scoop sizes were standard and appeared consistent across all the orders. The young crew seemed well trained on portion control and sample limits. They were strictly by the book with two samples maximum. Luckily, someone in my group only wanted one sample, so I was able to claim their unused allocation. I wasn't ready to stop tasting and understand their limits. This may be the highest concentration of cream and dairy richness I've ever experienced in a commercial creamery. The texture was exceptionally dense, silky, and indulgent. As the legend goes - King Arthur had a round table because all the knights were equal. But as we know in real life, some are more equal than others. The Passion Fruit and the Caramel Cashew were definitely more equal, but please don't think the BN was a slouch. All deserved to be on the podium. When you start in heaven, everything else is hell. I HATE ;-) Blacksmith Ice Cream for it may have permanently ruined my perspective on ice cream!

They have some upstairs seating and they know how to control the crowd. It may look busy, but the line moves quick. My favorite flavors are chewy gooey butter-cake and honey-bud. So yummy!! The butter-cake is smooth, creamy, and sweet. While, the honey-bud has those bits of honeycomb in it that just adds a nice texture to it. I always look forward to visiting this place! This location and the one in Bountiful. 1000/10 recommend.

The only negative about the experience is that it gets really crowded and doesn't feel clean when so many people are touching the machines and the spoons for the toppings. Hand sanitizer should be available everywhere, but there's just one dispenser in the hallway. I noticed several customers using napkins to hold the spoons and yogurt dispensers. Still, it's a fun place with lots of variety and everyone is friendly and helpful.

Hello to all curious about our menchies experience, First of…read moreall, they did not have my favorite flavor of pineapple or cake batter, which I have known lots of people who come to Menchie's just to enjoy the delicious, heartwarming cake batter. Number two, the popular toppings, popping boba and mochi, have been ripped from our very own hands. Third of all, they had four different flavors of vanilla. How do you even make different types of vanilla? They were the same thing just named differently. Now personally, I would not be enjoying country time flavored vanilla. Last but certainly not least, my sister's ice cream was freezer burned. There was mysterious chunks of ice in her froyo. And not to mention the workers have the audacity to ask for a tip, when I was the one who did all of the work, crafting my icecream, which really pushed me over the edge. I was so excited to embark on this journey to menchies but instead I was met with sadness and distraught. I will surely NOT be coming back to this location until I have received the news that these mishaps have been corrected.
