Visited Top It Frozen Yogurt for the second time. We hadn't been back in over a year and couldn't remember why. My boyfriend and I prefer the "original tart" flavor of frozen yogurt, regardless of where we go. Top It's tart flavor is a bit off, which we remembered as soon as we took a bite. It tastes too yogurt-y, which sounds silly if you don't like tart but if you do, you get it. I also got the pineapple flavor and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The toppings were fresh even at the end of the day. If you enjoy prefer flavors other than tart, I think it's worth a try! So glad I found this place! From the second we walked , who I assume to be the owner was greeting us , showing us where everything was, and explaining all the flavors. She even gave a couple animal crackers to my toddler as we were filling our cups. As far as the yogurt goes, it is as very different than many other frozen yogurt places I've been. It's much thicker and fluffier than other yogurts and has a bit of a different flavor. This was by no means a bad thing though! There also weren't very many flavors, but the 3 I had, chocolate, plain, and mountain blackberry were all very good Apparently they also serve curry which is really random ha. This place is awesome! And don't let any sour reviews convince you otherwise. First off, the owner is a tremendously personable and friendly guy. Such spectacular service time and time again. Pawit is the kind of small business owner that puts his heart and soul into his establishment, and greets all his customers with such kindness that you really feel like an invited guest. Our family of 5 likes the many choices of yogurt, which are routinely changing so go ahead and visit often. There are also an ample number of topping choices, both the sugary candied kind and a wide variety of fresh fruits--so there really is something to please everyone, and Pawit keeps the toppings bar very clean and well stocked. With all that said, the real reason for my review is the Thai food. The owner of Top It once operated Pawit's Thai restaurant on Murray-Holladay road (where Pig and a Jelly Jar now sits), and after being forced out of his dedicated Thai restaurant location due to rising lease costs, and moving Top It from its former location that was torn down to make way for the new Harmon's in Holladay, they opened the new Top It and brought a sampling of their delicious Thai food to the yogurt shop (although, the Thai cuisine is only available to go). The Thai Yellow Curry Chicken is absolutely delicious! Is has a nice, noticeable but not over powering heat, and a yummy curry flavor. The Pad Thai is also noteworthy, but in all honesty I have to say that the dish is more on the sweet side than I prefer, so for me it takes a back seat to the curry. But please do not leave Top It without ordering the Mango Sticky Rice. Oh my--it is so absolutely delicious! Finally, a couple things to remember about the Top It nay sayers. First, nearly every review under four stars is from 2016 and earlier, when Top It was located in the previous run down location--remember, they tore the entire building down because it was so dated and, frankly, it just had to go. Also, there is a single more recent 2-Star review that is perplexing to me. The reviewer basically had nothing bad to say about Top It, but lowballed it with a deuce anyway--what's up with that? Anyway, trust me on this one. Support a great local small business owner that has salvaged both a neighborhood gem of a yogurt shop and ensured the ongoing legacy of his delicious Thai offerings. Disappointing. The reason it was called "concrete" is that it was as thick and hard as concrete! What we received yesterday was more akin to soft serve, and my son who got plain vanilla ate a few bites then threw it away saying the flavor alone was not good. read more

Yogurt is great, but a surprise bonus is they also have great Curry dishes. I'm wanting to try their mango sticky rice next time. Suggest calling in curry order ahead of time, then selecting your yogurt choice while picking up your curry order. read more

The owner is literally the sweetest person I've EVER met, the frozen yogurt is incredible, the curry is out of this world and as authentic as it gets. This is really such a hidden gem & a must try! Not only does this place sell the best froyo in the slc area but it is the CLEANEST and they sell other yummy hard to find treats too like mango sticky rice & Thai curry! As wonderful as all of these things are and tasted, it's not entirely what drove me to write a review. The customer service is out of the park. I went in with two small kids under the age of 5 ( one being my daughter who isn't really friendly she's also in her terrible twos and a DIVA). The lady (possibly the owner) was the NICEST person I may have ever been greeted by at an establishment. She catered to my kids and even entertained them. She is clearly a friend of the locals in this area as well cause with just me sitting in her store for 20 minutes two kids came by just to say hello to her( she knew the family) and a regular was sitting! The couple who own the place also sell Thai tea and coffee, as well as home made curries, rice and noodles packaged and ready to take home. Frozen yogurt is good for you, right? I mean, those live active cultures must negate all of the sugar. Top It is my favorite fro-yo place, to date. They have about 10 or so flavors to chose from, including non-dairy and traditional tart varieties. After making your yo' selection, you get to decorate it with fresh fruit, candy, cereal, cookies, and sauces. Your masterpiece is weighed at checkout. I think the current price is like $0.38 an ounce. I typically pay around $3.00-$4.00 for mine, depending on how much self control I have that evening. The parking lot is teeny, but there is plenty of street parking, as well. Bonus: They have punch cards and Tuesday is double-punch day. Woot! read more

Great place and all just don't bother with there rewards system. It used to be great when they just did the punch cards, now you have to enter your phone number on little touch screen by the register. When you do that they don't tell you that they will send you texts, which normally I'm totally cool with. I'm not cool with receiving 10 of the same texts on many occasions, drove me nuts I tried to opt out, still got them for a few more weeks.. They have a good variety of frozen yogurts--most low fat, some non fat and some non dairy--many toppings (candy, cookies, fruit) and syrups (chocolate, caramel, hot fudge, Nutella). You pay by the weight. They have water and probably other drinks. There is a bar with chairs and several small tables inside and outside. I wish they had booths for private conversations but maybe most patrons don't stay long. They will let you sample the yogurts. Ours cost $3 each for the small size with an average amount of toppings. read more
