Okay why did it take me 8 years to get in to try Doki Doki? Only to find out it is closing in a couple more weeks? I'm glad I got to come in and try their awesome treats... tiramisu crepe cake, bunny custard?, and the fluffy, jiggly pancakes! I even played the claw games while waiting and won myself a Goku!!!! The place was clean and organized. Some of the treats were already sold out for the day, but I was happy getting to meet up with my friend and catch up over yummy eats! I'll be coming in again before their doors close. Thanks for bringing some yummy treats to the hood, Doki Doki! Sad to see you leaving. read more

Delicious Japanese cafe right downtown. I love their taiyaki! This one has mochi, strawberry's, and a vanilla custard and dark chocolate syrup. It's the perfect treat! The cafe has some games to play inside and plenty of seating. They also sell things like cakes, crepes, and pancakes. Everything is made fresh so it may take a moment to receive but worth the wait! read more

Went here for a nice dessert to end date night. We ordered the honeydew melon boba, biscoff taiyaki, custard taiyaki, & a blossom cake crepe. Staff will wait for you to ring the bell to order. They have a board which shows how long it will take to get more labor intensive items such as the pancakes. It is a busy spot with limited parking & the sign can be tough to spot as it's sandwiched between 2 other places. I left off a star due to the long waits for popular items, difficulty finding the location, & lack of parking. Food was great, but be prepared to wait (like an hour) for select items. read more

My kids adore the desserts here, especially the pancakes! The food is great, but the service could use some love. We waited about 10 minutes for the cashier to come out from the kitchen, even after ringing the bell twice. There was no greeting when she finally appeared, and the tables were dirty (I had to clean ours myself). The gold knives on the table were dusty, and they were out of plastic knives. Still, the food is worth it--we'll probably just do to-go next time! read more

I stopped by Doki Doki and tried the passion fruit cake and the mango panna cotta both were amazing! The passion fruit cake was light, fluffy, and had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The mango panna cotta was so smooth and refreshing, not too heavy but full of flavor. Everything tasted super fresh and beautifully presented. Definitely a spot I'll come back to for desserts that look as good as they taste! Visiting from Vegas here and this shop is so cute. Right as you come in it has a calming aesthetic. It has K-pop music playing and anime decorations. It has claw machines too which is great. The dessert is so good and it's so aesthetic. The desserts are really yummy and they have a lot of flavors and options. I love the bunny pancotta. The service was pretty good too. So frustratingly slow! By the time you get your order - no joke over 30 minutes, you've lost your excitement and appetite! And if you ordered more than one item, comes out separately painstaking slow. One party may be half way done (while eating slow), waiting for other's order to catch up. I enjoy their crepe cakes the most, especially the ube and passion fruit flavors. I tried the mango basque cheesecake this time, and it was amazing! The fluffy pancakes could take like 30 minutes because they make it fresh, so I didn't order it this time, but I'd like to try it out next time! read more

Cute little Asian cafe in SLC. I chose this place because I saw they had a lot of Corgi decor. As a proud father of two Corgis, how could I not visit them? The service is at the counter here. You order and they bring it to you. It wasn't super fast but it wasn't slow either! We were in good company so no complaints there. Their selection is interesting. I do wish they had red bean taiyaki. The tiramisu is not to sweet; perfect in my opinion. The taiyaki was also very fluffy and tasty. Super cute shop and staff is very friendly. We tried the Oreo and Nutella taiyaki both were delish but the Nutella was amazing. I also ordered the vanilla panna cotta (wiggly bunnies) with strawberry cheesecake sauce and the sauce tasted so fresh. The panna cotta was also great it tastes like vanilla custard jello. 10/10 recommend and we will definitely be back to try the pancakes. We saw many people order and they look so fluffy! read more

Visited Doki Doki around 1:15 pm on Thursday and there wasn't anyone there at the time. We were able to order right away, but did take around 8-10 minutes to get the order. For the interior, there were plenty of seats available to accommodate big parties. I felt a very cozy vibe from the decor throughout store. The staff was very friendly and helped pick something to order. In this case, we got the Taiyaki Waffle. This was with the vanilla ice cream, custard filling, biscoff cookies, and strawberry. It was good, sweet, and refreshing. This was perfect on a hot day! read more

And the pancakes were great but I really wanted to come here and give them some constructive feedback- the place nooks messy / dirty , the curtains covering the kitchen are filthy ans look goofy ! The floor was painted white HUGE MISTAKE ! Paint it grey or black right now it looks filthy dirty ! Also have some PAPER MENUES ! Not just e MENUES. As far as the pancakes ! More toppings less base MORE Sugar on the crème brûlée for sure! I can't get enough of their passion fruit crepe cake. That is why I kept going back. The reason I will probably not return in the future is the kiosk you order at. All three times that I have stopped by it has been surrounded by teenagers just playing around with it. After waiting more than 10 minutes for one party to be done, I took off. I didn't have time for three more groups to take 10 minutes playing with the cool kiosk. Having a second one or an employee you could order from would be very helpful. I could see employees in the kitchen but they paid no attention to the line forming. When they were asked a question about inventory of an item, they were not friendly. I am sure they were frustrated from dealing with the same humans I struggled with as well. read more

I can assure you that the crepe cakes aren't like anything you've ever had before: light, fresh, filling, not too sweet. The passion fruit one is a favorite amongst me and my siblings! I pretty much only come for these crepe cakes, everything else is good but they're not the star of the place haha. My sister and I saw this place on social media and wanted to go try it! We took our family to downtown SLC just to try this dessert place. When we first walked in there was a small cluster of people at the door waiting in line to order at the kiosks. They had a small display with the desserts you could see as well by the kiosks which helped when trying to figure out what we. They have a couple small cheesecake options, a waffle type dessert, and multiple flavors of crepe cake, which seems like a bunch of crepes put together to make a cake. We got the Mango Crepe Cake slice which was an 7/10, the passion fruit crepe cake slice which was a 10/10 for me, cookies and cream crepe cake slice which was a 3/10 for most of my family due to the lack of flavor, the passion fruit cheesecake another 10/10 for me and then my parents got a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a chocolate ice cream that I forgot the name of. The desserts came out pretty quickly. Our longest wait was waiting to order on the kiosk. Overall my dad said he'd never go back due to the lack of flavor for him, my mom gave it a 6/10, one sister gave it a 8/10, the other sister a 7/10 and I give it an 8/10. It's a fun place to try at least once! read more

So lucky such a nice jp style cafe is right downtown! There was only two or three people working at such a busy place but customers were generally patient and kind. We started with the passionfruit panna cotta bunny which was the perfect little size and tasty. Then the ube taiyakis came out before the sodas. The waffle was soft and had just a few crispier parts. The filling was good but I would probably get a red bean one next time. I got a Peachee blush soda but it was less rose than I would prefer. It was mostly a strawberry candy flavor. The ube pancakes took about 30 min (which was expected cuz it was on a sign and the waitstaff warned about it) and they were so soft and not too sweet. Totally worth it. I'm not a big sweets person but this was definitely a good cafe to add to my regular spots. It lifted my spirits on this hot tiring day. I hope they add more tea drinks cuz I could see a nice iced rose tea going with these pancakes. read more

The decor in the shop is more modern, but actually has design elements instead of feeling like the empty space lacking character like many other modern designs. I They use La Barba beans, which generally aren't my favorite bean, but they are dialed in and actually pull a great shot. Parking can be a challenge at times, but I still find it to be worth the hunt. This is a great shop to check out and helps establish the coffee scene in this part of town.

Their sourdough toast is a must and boasts an array of fresh toppings to choose from that anyone can find something they'll like. Price is average. Service is quick and friendly. Presentation is nice-enough (nothing to gawk at). There are minimal outlets but lots of seating indoor and outdoor, but there is seemingly always a line so that must mean the locals love it too. I'd come early! Oh! They also have a board full of community events and a local artist sticker machine which makes me excited every time I'm in town. For this visit, I got an iced oat banana matcha and a sourdough slice w ricotta and seasonal berries. The matcha was buttery and smooth, well mixed, and lightly sweet. You can definitely taste the banana but it is minimal, which I like. The toast came warm and soft and crispy in all the right places. Blackberries and blueberries were juicy and complimented the cheese/bread nicely. The honey added the softest sweetness, tying it all together.

But paying 50.00 dollars and driving to order the cake, then days later driving to pick up the cake, only for them to give me a cake you can literally get everyday is just wrong. So very saddened by this.

These aren't just frozen baked goods defrosted for a quick snack, but actually worth visiting for by themselves. A perfect compliment to a great cup of coffee. The shop itself has a ton of seats, but they are quite frequently occupied. Expect a busy shop, and if the weather is great, the patio will also be full. The decor of the shop is a little more modern and "clean" with simple design. Plenty of great light, open seating, and a good cup of coffee, are a recipe for a great day.

We parked in the lot by Barnes & Noble and walked over. The interior of the restaurant was super cute, and I loved the tall ceiling. There was plenty of seating and I liked the open kitchen. I've always enjoyed watching kitchen staff work their magic while preparing our dishes. We were greeted and seated promptly. I already had an idea of what I wanted to order, and so did my husband. We were here strictly for the ramen, but there are also rice bowls and sushi if ramen isn't your thing. I went with the mega pork ramen and added black garlic oil, while my husband went with the tan tan men. While we waited, we watched as several other parties also arrived for a late dinner. Even though there was only one server, she was quite efficient. It didn't take very long for our food to arrive, and we were eager to dig in. We asked for chili powder on the side, which our server was a little confused about, but finally understood and brought us some in a little dish. I was a little surprised they didn't have the powder at each table like at other ramen restaurants I've been to. I immediately noticed the layer of oil (not the black garlic oil, the red oil) on top of both of our ramen. It was thicker than I would have liked, but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and mixed it in with the rest of the broth. The flavor of the broth was fine. It was decent if this was your first experience with ramen, but as someone who has had plenty of top tier ramen spots in the Bay Area and Sacramento, the broth wasn't memorable. Honestly, the layer of oil was also what threw the balance off. The noodles were bouncy and chewy, and the meat was tender. My favorite cut was the pulled pork chashu. The egg was yolky but not as seasoned as a proper ajitama should have been. My husband had similar remarks about his tan tan men, but at least we agreed that both of our bowls, while not spectacular, were consistent and cohesive as dishes. Ramen Legend, to us, seemed like the kind of spot that attracts patrons due to its centralized location, but it was definitely not the best ramen I've had.
