Very bad experience. I ordered a lens online but when they told me that I was outside their delivery area, I assumed, incorrectly, that they would just cancel the order and refund my money. But instead, I had to argue with the salesman and dispute the charge with my credit card company. I have yet to receive all of my money back. Very poor business practice. After I posted the review above, rather than apologizing and trying to rectify the situation, I received an email from the owner threatening litigation. Despite that I feel the information in my review, is accurate, I have included additional information to support my review. Top Lens Rental stated that they witheld 4% from my refund to cover the cost of the credit card transaction. They advertise that they "are a mail-order rental business which is a mailing/shipping operation" and that the only place they don't ship to is Canada yet they refused to give me a full refund when they wouldn't ship my rental order to Washington. read more

Checked this place out due to the good yelp review, I didn't have the chance to reserve online (which Mr.T recommend) and I chose to walk in instead. I would like to make a note that there is not really a physical store but rather an rented office space in a huge/shared building. From the time of walked in to getting out tool about 40 minutes, some forms to fill out and the general credit card authorization stuff, I felt the process can be better but Mr.T reccomanded for order online to simply the process. Overall very nicely kept equipments, simple pricing and no hidden fees, etc. Would reccomand to try it out. read more

What I love the most about Top Lens rental is that they have great lenses, excellent customer service, and easy processing. As someone who is building their wedding portfolio, I have used Top Lens Rental to rent gear for weddings and photo shoots. Their lenses always come well packaged and are immaculate. As a first time renter and a beginner photographer, I was stuck deciding on what lens I should buy next. Many people recommended renting lenses to try them out for a week or two. I did some research and didn't find any satisfactory lens renters. Most of them charged the full price of the lens as a deposit and at least $10 a day for renting. This was quite a large commitment for an experimenting college student. I was very surprised when one day, I went on Yelp and found Top Lens. I was skeptical once I got to their offices because they were just that, an office, rather than a store. On top of that the prices seemed almost too reasonable to be true; 1/2 the lens cost as a deposit, and around $5 a day for the Sigma 30/1.5. My skepticism quickly disappeared when I sat down with T. Pham and he explained the whole process to me. Also, he let me add an extra day on top of my week right then and there. It all took a matter of minutes, a few signatures, and I was on my way. Just returned the lens today in the easy packaging, got my deposit back, and was very very happy with the overall experience. T. Pham is very friendly and easy to talk to, I will definitely rent from Top Lens again when I want to try out new lenses. read more

My client asked to move her shoot a week earlier, so I asked T if I could change my rental pick up day to the next day and he said no problem! I needed to extend my rental by an additional week, I emailed T and he said again no problem! My website log in didn't work for the website so I emailed T and he said he'd hold on to the lens for me and he'd just bill me at pick up! All lenses are clean and in perfect shape, local pick up and drop off (save on shipping), and renting saves me money knowing if a lens belongs in my bag. I had a great experience renting a lens from Top Lens Rental. I'm a local renter, hence I opted for pickup instead of shipping. Mr. T is extremely professional, and even though my rental was VERY last minute (I reserved the lens online less than 12 hours before pickup), he made sure the process was smooth sailing. He's also extremely precise and methodical and will go over store policy with you in great detail, especially if you're a first-time renter. The lens was great, much more than I expected, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. T's prices are extremely reasonable (definitely one of the cheapest I found online). It also doesn't hurt that he offers local pickup, which saves you a handy 20-odd bucks. There is a significant deposit (in terms of a hold placed on your CC), but it's refunded promptly within 48 hours of return. In short, I've have no complaints renting from this store, and I'll definitely return soon. I absolutely cannot recommend Top Lens Rental enough! read more

Renting from Top Lens Rental was a great experience. Its easy to drop off and pick up the items and everything is reasonably priced and in excellent condition. If you are going to reserve online however be sure to do it 2 hours before you need the item. If you need it sooner, call the order in. Just a heads up: Top Lens Rental isn't a "proper" shop. Its located in an office park and you'll have to speak to the receptionist who will call T to come meet you. T is very friendly and knowledgeable. When I'm local, I will surely be using Top Lens. However, now that I am not longer a first time renter I have come to the conclusion that this is the best lens rental 'store' that I have used. T. is very friendly and kind and he explains EVERYTHING to you so you have a clear understanding of the rules. Got tired of renting cameras and lenses at prices that are absolutely ridiculous in the pasadena glendale burbank area. So I went online and found top lens rental in torrance. I could tell just from the conversation I had over the phone with mister Pham that I was going to like doing business with this company. I rented a Canon 100 to 400 millimeter L zoom lens and a nikon 55 to 300 millimeter zoom lens. The rental prices I was quoted we're almost a third less than what everyone else was quoting me. When I arrived to pick up the lenses, they were in absolutely new condition, not like some of the beat up lenses I've rented in the past. Used the lenses for 3 days without a hitch, and returned them back. Had my deposit refunded to me in 1 day.
