In the past 10 years, I've lost my passport twice while travelling abroad. Oops. So when I came home and applied for a replacement passport, I came to Photo World both times to get passport photos done. I walked in, sat for the photo, and within 15 minutes I had my two passport photos. The cost is low here, about $15 for both passport photos. This is a family owned business, and the workers here are friendly. They are located on a large shopping plaza. Parking is sometimes hard to come by if you come here on a busy day, and other times its a breeze. Their work is great, my passport photos always come out looking well. The quick turnaround times and decent pricing make this an excellent option for photos. I wish the DMV would learn from them. read more

Yes, a one hour photo business is still in existence. And, here it is. I really don't know how many people still use one hour photo services, but if you need one in the South Bay, this one is available. Personally, I went into this business because I needed passport photos. The owner did a great job. And, he did it right away. I walked in the door, asked him about the service. He asked me to step in the back where he has a photo studio. He sat me down, took the picture and ten minutes later I was good to go. Great picture! Great service! As the world has gone to digital, I don't really know how many people still use the old-school service of one hour photo. Unless, somebody is looking to dive into the vintage world of 35mm photography. One way or the other, if you need some great photos services, a very fast, passport, photo, or the other services they offer, this business is highly recommended. Photo World it's located in the Torrance Promenade shopping center on Hawthorne Boulevard. So, it is very easy to find. There is tons of parking so that should never be a problem. Really quick photo developing spot. Photo world has been here for decades. Back in the early 2000s, my mom used their services to print many photos. 20 years later, I'm using their services as well. Workers are sweet. It is family owned! They develop photos, take photos for passports, prints, and sell film/film cameras. A 3 pack of FujiFilm 200 is $30, and the Kodak Porta is a 5 pack for $75. All of which is a good deal, so I'd definitely rather support their small business than buy on Amazon. The scans of my camera were emailed to me less than 2 hours after dropping off. Really great spot to develop your film, instead of stores like cvs and Walgreens. read more

I came here to take my US passport photo. It took ten minutes, and the man taking the photo was super nice. I requested a digital copy of the photo and he provided that as well. It's around $20 for two photos and the digital photo. I would recommend this place over CVS or elsewhere because the photographer was familiar with what I could and could not do in the passport photo (ex: no smiling with teeth), and he knew the exact dimensions for both the print and digital version. They also do passport photos for different countries like Japanese passport photos. Also there is plenty of parking here. read more

Quick in and out. Been here before to take passport photo but that was 11-12 years ago. I recently came back to take another passport photo. I knew the general location of this place but I missed it at first because their store sign doesn't say 'Photo World' but rather 1 hour photo. So I walked in and it was empty, I told them I wanted passport photo and walked me right to the back and told me to take a seat on the stool. The guy had a camera ready and took couple photos. All this happened about 2 minutes into walking inside the store. After the photo shoot, I walked towards the front and a young asian lady checked me out at the register and I paid under $16 for two passport photos. It took under 10 min to process the photos and to print it. Everything was quick and left under 15 minutes of walking in and paid under $16. I came to develop and scan only I was just looking to support my now, local to me business, but I will likely not be back. I paid around 73 for 1 b&w roll and 3 color negative rolls. The scans came with dust artifacts and were low res, although the customer service was fine and turn around was same day. I did not bother with even downloading the scans as they weren't good. Good photo quality, but the gentleman did not spend any time to ensure I have a photo-ready expression, the photo came out with one eye bigger than the other, bah! $13 for prints and it's very obvious they put filters and tried to "fix" a lot of our photos and it ended making them hard to see. I thought it was our fault with the lighting in some of them, but even the well-lit ones were printed weirdly, or filtered like someone stuck the sepia filter on for pictures. If you can't print Kodak pictures well, don't advertise it. I do not recommend. read more
