I Will not be coming here again. My daughter wanted French tip gel on her nails for her bday and the owner of top nails did not want to leave her nails the length of our request (my daughter has been growing out her nails to get a nice french tip!) She insisted that she would cut short because my daughter is small .(she will be 10 tomorrow) I explained this was her bday request and these are her real nails we are not asking for acrylic She still said no. I said this is what she wants. This is our request. She Continued to go back and forth with me saying short is better for her. So I said can you do it or not, if you can't that's fine I'll go somewhere else and she said no. -So I walked out. The crazy thing is that I went last week and ended up with this same lady and requested her to please add some acrylic on one of my toe nails because I preferred them with some length and it had broke - she said no you don't need it then I said I like it better a little longer and since it broke I would like to even it out with my other toe nails, I gave in and let her do what she wanted! I'm too nice! She ended up cutting ALL my toe nails short! And she was even hurting me during the pedi! I let that one slide but today with my daughter NO! I always did my pedi with them and didn't have an issue with other nail techs only one other lady with very shaky hands I had to request someone to help her she kept messing up the french tip, time after time. I'm not one to be leaving reviews like this but this one deserves it. I was going to pay and even tip! Do what the costumer wants not what you want. I'm outta town about 5 hours from home. I didn't have time to get me a pedicure so I got one while I was out here. A lady did my pedicure and then a guy came to paint my toenails. There was. Ton of cuticle left around my nail bed and I asked if he was gonna take it off before painting. He did it but with a bit of reluctance. I asked why she didn't do it and if she knew here. He ignored me, and asked if I wanted gel polish and I told him no thank you but he went ahead and used gel polish anyways, but he didn't use the UV lamp nor the clear top gel coat he used gel polish with a regular nail topcoat, which I know is not something that you can usually do. Went with my cousin so we can have a nice pedi day and destress. We went with the $65 deluxe spa pedicure with gel adding an additional $10 . Johnny started with me and Kathy started to do my cousins 10 minutes after. My cousin was done in 20 minutes or less and Johnny was still not done with mine. This included the hot stone massage that she probably only got for 2 minutes or less, the scrub as well that felt like a second. I will say it felt like Johnny did do the actual package but when I looked over and my cousin was done, I was like that is not worth $77.25. Kathy barely spent any time making my cousin feel like the deluxe spa was worth it and it was their most expensive package!!!! I confronted Johnny and asked why my cousin finished early and why hers was so quick and she should get a discount and proceeded to ignore me and still charge FULL PRICE!!! didn't even answer my question and started speaking to his coworkers knowing I don't understand what he was saying. I was going to leave a tip if he would have answered or given us a discount but he didn't. Never coming back again!!!! $77.25 a person and KATHY spent less than what should feel like a deluxe spa. My cousin and I went in for a pedicure this evening. We got the $65 pedicure each which is the most expensive pedicure you can get at this place. Mind you, the girl started on me 10 minutes after my cousin's treatment. She was done with me within 20 MINUTES. The pedicure was horrible. She didn't take the time to do the treatments that I wanted and was going to pay for. When it was time to pay, we asked the man that was working on my cousin as to why mine was so quick, no response. I normally head to Bakersfield for a good pedi and you can get a decent one here like I did but I also had to smell urine the entire time I got one. The person doing my pedi had such a strong urine odor it gave me a headache. The time after that I came in for a polish change and the lady changing the color was offended that I did not want a fill, this was an emergency visit as my regular lady was full during the week for a polish change. The last time I came in for a polish change on two fingers and she must have remembered me from the week before because she straight up said, "we don't have any of those colors.". Keep in mind that this is my first time here, and I rarely come in mani/pedi. In other words, I have lack of knowledge with nails. Overall, it was NOT painful of getting my nails and toes done. If I do come back, I would come back for a pedicure. The process for the pedicure went well. Felt sanitary and relaxing. Coming to my nails was pretty hard. It is hard with the language barrier. I was trying to explain that i want to work with my natural nails and acrylics only, but they proceeded with the nail powder and gel. I'm the type who be too shy to say anything, but i also thought the lady understood me when she repeated "all natural". At the same time, I do believe I'm at fault since I couldn't explain it to them clearly. I should've said to do the same thing like my toes. The aftermath of my nails was decent...since the nail tech was working with my natural nails, the finish underneath felt weird. They didn't clean my cuticles as I hoped..that was the main thing I was looking forward to the most. I believe I have to tell them next time. I personally felt like that was the dilemma with my experience. Im sure the next time around, I can be more clear on what I want. Main take away... I've never had any issues with service here. The best time to go is in the morning when they're not too busy. Although they have plenty of techs on hand. I also like the modern payment options. I've given this place one too many chances. I'd visit regularly for a manicure and pedicure but I won't be going back. The service is very inconsistent. I went in for a manicure and was assisted by a male. The place was empty so there should be no rush. His technique was so rough and hurt me twice. If I'd flinch he'd get upset. The second time I moved because he hurt my cuticles he got up upset and another girl took over. I felt embarrassed for her because I could tell she probably puts up with him too. I asked him if everything was okay, he responded yes. I hope that made him stop and think about his reaction. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but like I said, it was one too many times. Try to call to get price or appointment only to be hung up on multiple times then told to just come in. After being told a set price they spike up the price when you get there. Abusive service for children/teens My family and I had the most terrible experience at Top Nails Salon. I came with with my twin teen daughters to get a manicure and pedicure. My daughter informed how the employee named Andy was hurting her as he was working on her manicure. She told him to stop however he told her to "be quiet". No one should ever tell their paying customers to be quiet. I wanted to talk to him in private. But he did not want to talk to me, he said he was "busy". So I made a scene and I told him in front of the entire salon, how he has no right to tell my daughter to be quiet, nor should he tell any other paying customers. When the manager finally came he denied ever telling my daughter to be quiet. And of course the manager did nothing. Just because she was a teen he told her to be quite. If it was an adult, he would have listened. From this experience my daughter told me she was horrified. She has never in her life ever experience something like that. I will never go to this salon again or recommend the salon to anyone. Such a horrible experience. read more
