First time trying this spot out, it was recommended to me by one of my coworkers. Great customer service, I ordered online and my order was ready with all the fixings including plates waiting to be packed. There is plenty of seating and the lighting is dim. Establishment is really clean. I ordered wings and wedges. Wing flavors I ordered garlic parm & Frank's red hot are lacking sauce but the flavor is excellent. The wedges are massive and have great texture and flavor. The ketchup is basic ketchup nothing special and the ranch suited both flavors perfectly. I'll have to return to try out the pizza but the four stars is because the lack of sauce, other than that good wings & good wedges. read more

I have to start this review by letting you know that no matter what, I love pizza. From Lean Cuisine, to a warmed up 7-11 pepperoni, to the Margherita at Frugatti's, I've enjoyed them all. My philosophy is that pizza is like only one other thing in life - even if its not that great, its still pretty good. Thats why it pains me to report that Woodstone, once ranked as one of the best pizzas in Kern County, completely missed the mark tonight. Uber Eats offered a 50% off promo at Domino's this evening, but my wife and I opted to drop $70 on a medium Hawaiian and a "Woodstone" (combination), with a side of boneless buffalo wings instead. Upon arrival, we noticed both medium pizzas were delivered in large size boxes, leaving a wide berth between the crust and the edge of the box. While the pies were delivered in good condition and warm to the touch, they were not as visually striking as one would expect. It was clear that too small pizzas were placed in too big boxes. I dove into the combination first, and immediately noticed a bland lack of flavor. I tried to add some pizzaz with the provided pepper flakes and parm, but no dice. I had to dip my slice in ranch just to choke it down. Unfortunately, the Hawaiian pizza was no better. The crust on both pizzas was hard, almost as if it was stale, and each of the toppings were congealed together in the melted cheese so there was just an amalgam of bland flavor throughout each bite. Both pizzas tasted the same, in fact (not good). I moved on to the wings and they had an off flavor and gummy texture as well. Truly, everything tasted like it was left out from the lunch buffet a day or two ago and someone brushed some garlic butter on everything, nuked it for half a minute, and half assedly packaged it all up for us tonight. The good news is the City of Bakersfield announced that it is acceptable to dispose of pizza boxes in the green waste can now. Sadly that's where this entire meal wound up. read more

Pizza is life and I wanted to try a new spot. Yelp says this place is pretty good. So I made an order for delivery. One classic pepperoni and one small margherita. I can't speak on the ambiance or customer service since it was delivery but the pizza is legit. The crust isn't soggy and tasted like it was made in an actual pizza oven. The taste is on point- the ingredients tasted fresh and not like artificial slop. My whole family was pleased. I was a happy little greedy pizza rat. I absolutely love wood fire pizza and thin crust, so I highly recommend this place if you also like thin crust wood fire pizzas. We ordered the chicken garlic and their take on the combination and both pizzas were delicious. We also got the antipasto salad and the bbq chicken salad and both were super good. The ranch dressing is really good here. Not all ranch dressing is created equal, so when there's a place that has great pizzas and really good ranch then it's always a plus. I didn't get to see the restaurant from inside. My husband and youngest went to go pick up and bring it back to the office for lunch, but from my understanding they were getting a lot of calls for orders. I will definitely be back! We live close to here but only got to try it when my friend participated in their karaoke road to the fair contest. I love the old-school feel and that you can actually sit down and dine in. They have a variety of flavors and you can order half flavors so you get to try more flavors. I have always preferred thin crust so if you're a fan, this is the place for you! We had went here before, but so long ago (I believe during covid) and we hadn't given them a shot since. We got a thin crust classic half pepperoni and half cheese pizza. I'd give this pizza a solid 7; it definitely could have used a bit more sauce. We also tried the sizzlin' bacon (I think that's what it was called) We substituted the ham for chicken...that pizza was delicious and full of all different flavors. One of the best pizza places in town. A little out of the way, from the choices we have near our house but I'm always ready for the 20 minute drive to go sit and eat their delicious pizzas. They have the perfect crust and it is pizza, so it's pretty hard to ruin a good thing. The place is clean, all the games work and the staff is helpful and polite. My family and I were in town on holiday and, after a long pool day, decided on pizza and salad for dinner. Our first two choices didn't work out (one on summer break, the other didn't have salad) so we "settled" on Woodstone because it checked all the boxes and the Yelp reviews were solid. Boy this community delivers. Plentiful parking in the lot on a Friday during dinner. The friendly boys at the counter took our order right away. Large Casa salad add grilled chicken, large pizza half pepperoni half sausage, 16oz 801 beer came out to less than $50 including an 18% tip. The place was clean, organized, super quaint and felt like a throwback to 90s pizzerias. Ultra utilitarian choices like paper plates and a roll of paper towels mounted over the booth that we greatly appreciated. The salad came out right away and was very fresh and loaded with chicken. I dug into the salad while my husband and daughter played a few arcade games including pinball and a racing game. There was a brief wait for the pizza but very worth it. The pizza came out super hot from the oven with an ultra crispy cracker-like crust. The sausage was my favorite, very delicious. We arrived to a warm inviting smelling like some good pizza joint. The decor was a mix of classic Italiano with some classic Americano vibe. The staff were friendly and very pleasant. They had a few arcade games and also had some old school hands on entertainment. We ordered a pineapple and pepperoni pizza with a side of wings. Both items were delicious. The sauce for the pizza wasn't a heavy tomato base like the kind that gives acid reflux. The crust was just how we like it, thin and crisp. The wings we definitely my favorite. They were a naked wing, not heavy and covered in a thick batter. We even enjoyed their soda machine. You had a choice of the everyday picks but this machine had some other delightful flavors like Black Cherry, Vanilla Cream, lemon and berry soda. Woodstone Pizzeria is one of the better pizza joints in Bakersfield. Went here with some friends. Nice clean restaurant with good service too. I remember when their location used to be another restaurant called Santa Fe Burrito. Place looks a lot nicer now. Very welcoming with several big screen tv's available so you can watch your games while enjoying your delicious pizzas! We shared 3 different pizzas plus a couple of sampler platters. The platters included potato wedges, hot wings, and mozzarella sticks. All were good. One of the pizzas we tried was the Hawaiian Pizza. Good amount of quality toppings, and it tasted really good. The Chicken Kahuna was another pizza that we shared. Like the Hawaiian, it also had pineapple as one of the toppings. I love pineapples on my pizzas so I was also a fan of the Chicken Kahuna. The Big Poppy was the last pizza we shared. It is a meat combo pizza with pepperoni, sausage, salami, beef, and ham as the toppings. Tasted fine, but I preferred the other two. We were able to make a reservation in advance for our soccer team and their families while in town for a tournament (50+ people) They had another group ahead of us plus regular customers, and our food still came out promptly, the food quality was great and the staff was warm and accommodating. They really went the extra mile for us. I also appreciated Mark's communication when they tried to accommodate our son's gluten allergy- he was forthcoming with info when it wasn't able to happen. What a find!! Walked in and loved the old school pizzeria feel! The boys working the counter couldn't have been any cooler- lots of excellent recs and even some flavor samples! We ordered a large pep n olive and large wings- lemon pepper and mango habanero! Sat down and waited! The pizza came out first! Love at first bite! I'm really into pizza and this was the crispiest sourdough crust I've ever had! Crunchy crust with plenty of gooey cheese and lots of toppings! The pepperoni had a nice kick but not overly spicy. The sauce was a perfect balance of savory with a small hint of sweet. I'm being completely serious when I say PHENOMENAL!!! Meatball sub was very good! I believe they cook their meatballs in the oven, the bread was soft in the inside with a nice crunch on the outside. It isn't cheap but it's definitely worth it in my opinion. I've had Woodstone on my radar for a while and finally got a chance to visit. I dropped in twice over the course of 2 weeks to try some pizza for dinner and a sandwich for lunch. The pizza was very good, they don't skimp on toppings and the cook was very good. With plenty of toppings, a great cook and a nicely flavored sauce it checked all the boxes for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza and my wife really liked her cheese pizza as well. The real home run for me was the sandwich. I had the pastrami and it was easily one of the top 3 best pastrami sandwiches I've ever had. The pastrami is black pepper crusted, there was plenty of cheese and oven baking it was just the icing on the cake. At $12 it falls in line with current market prices for lunch and it was superb. I will definitely visit for lunch again and probably for more pizza in the future as well. read more

First time trying wood stone and maybe I should have done better research before ordering. I don't mind a thin crust pizza, but this is super thin crust. Flavor was good but you can't really load cheese or sauce to much when a crust is that thin as opposed to Tony's or Magoo's which are some of my favorites. As for the wings it was nice to find a place that actually had some legit deep fried wings that were toasty but there wasn't much sauce or heat to them at all. Wedges were pretty good but I had it delivered so the they sat in a container and plastic bag which makes them sweat and lose the crunch. I'm sure if they were fresh they had a lot of potential to be really good. All in all I don't know if I'd go back again so the search continues for a pizza place that all my kids and I can agree on. read more

I've always enjoyed the food at Woodstone Pizza -- it's consistently excellent, and that's kept me coming back. However, the last two visits have left me feeling pretty unwelcome, and it's making it hard to want to return. The first time, my family and I were asked to move from our table so they could seat a larger party. It felt rushed and inconsiderate, especially since we were already settled in. Then, during our most recent visit, we were seated right in front of the TV, and while we were watching the Dodger game, the staff changed the channel without even asking. When I brought it up, all I got was a quick "sorry, we can put it on another TV" -- not much consideration for our experience. I still think the food is fantastic, but after being treated like an afterthought twice now, it's hard to feel good about coming back. read more
