Charles was on time to our appointment. He drove from McMinnville to Lincoln City, which is approximately 50 miles, to install my 75" Sony Bravia TV on the wall. He was informative and gave me great ideas on how to improve the audio video equipment I have. He suggested that I re-locate speakers in the room for maximum efficiency. I would highly recommend his services.

Charles was amazing. He helped me get the bingo monitors up and running at Keizer Salem Area Senior Center (KSAS). He took a total of 4 days to come in and set it all up, and he donated most of that time. I told him what I had to spend, and he made sure NOT to go over my budget. This was a very pleasant experience to have a contractor to exceed what I expected. Charles was on time, very noligiable, efficient, and made helpful and useful suggestions on how to proceed. Although his commute to Eugene was out of his normal service, his charge was still below other yelp provider's estimates (who failed to return phone calls and texts). When my outdoor speakers recently quit connecting with my TV, I called my usual repair service for help. They were unavailable at the time but suggested Top Notch AV as an alternative to get my speakers working for me right away. When the owner Charles Rodriguez arrived, he assured me that he had extensive experience in TV installation and speakers, citing a couple of large jobs that seemed very intricate. My Sonos speakers are small and portable, so it was a simple matter of getting them to reconnect with my TV through the app on my phone. It took him over 2 hours to get the speakers working. Charles said that he was "learning the system" as he went, spending quite a bit of time on the Sonos chat line. After the first half hour I was uncomfortable with his lack of knowledge and unprofessional demeanor. He charged me $150 for the service call which I felt was excessive. An expert should not have had to have help diagnosing the problem and spend time on a chat line (on my dime) asking for help. My speakers have had to be reconnected a couple of times in the past and it's never taken over half an hour for someone to reconnect them. Will not use Top Notch AV again. read more

Ok, so let me start by saying that I don't often do yelp reviews. In fact this is my first. I was looking for someone to install a security system and chuck was great, he explain the process and after all my wife decided not to install a security system. Then I wanted my TV mounted while hiding the cables, Chuck was able to do this without any issues. He's a perfectionist and it was amazing. Charles installed a tv bracket that folds down so I can watch tv that is mounted over the fireplace at eye level. I didn't know such a mounting bracket existed and Charles used one in my home making watching my 65 inch tv so much more comfortable. No straining to look up since Charles installed this new bracket. I contacted a few companies on Yelp in an effort to replace a 55-inch tv and mount with a 65-inch tv and an articulating mount over our fireplace. Charles was the quickest to respond. In fact, less than 24 hours later, not only did he replace the first tv, he also moved it to another room, where he also installed a new mount. The new tv also needed 4 components placed and installed. Charles is incredibly experienced and made it all look easy. He was thorough, clean and communicated every step along the way. I called a few companies for quotes to install a security camera system that I acquired a while ago and then decided it was way over my head to install myself. Out of all the companies I called, Charles from Top Notch AV gave the best quote and understood the system I was wanting installed. He was willing to work with me on price as I didn't want to spend a lot of money. He was very friendly and professional. He was very meticulous in every aspect of the job and although there were a few hiccups during the install, he made sure the job was done right. I'm very pleased with his work! Chuck worked with me for quite awhile to get the system right for my house at the price i wanted. He did a great job and even though it took longer than expected thanks to a misleading product description he got it knocked out. He payed attention and made sure my new 65" tv was securely mounted to the wall. He had additional parts to make sure I felt comfortable with everything and had great ideas for in wall wiring. Charles knows what he is doing! He came out to install my tv on the wall over the fireplace. This was no easy task because Charles had to go through the attic of the house to run all the wires and there was little space. Even though it took longer than expected he honored the price he quoted me. I will have him back to do more work in the future! It's hard finding a reliable, knowledgeable and friendly guy. I also appreciated that he was pretty funny and my kids enjoyed having him over to do the work. read more

Charles started his business 40 years ago specializing in commercial background/foreground music speaker systems, satellite TV systems and audio video installations service and repair. His company has grown and now offers Home Theater design & installations, TV mounting as well as security camera sales & installation, Ceiling fan & lighting installation.

Charles is a Professional musician with a passion for sound & lighting. When he was a child he looked up to his grandfather who was a Sound Engineer for TV & motion pictures, Charles was fascinated by the recording & editing process that his Grandfather did every day and one day his grandfather said Son I think you should consider enrolling in a Recording arts program and that’s exactly what Charles did he enrolled in Golden West College Recording arts program his focus was in Live Sound. After a few years in the program Charles was hired on as an assistant engineer at Packaderm Studios in Los Alamitos, CA which later became the world famous Sound Kitchen Studios. Charles at a very young age was fortunate to have worked with various famous & extremely talented musicians in the studio & on the road, Charles soon found out that he had a real talent for assembly & repair of sound & lighting equipment which lead him to work for Pro Sound & Stage Lighting as a repair tech which led to AV.

Both the online listing and the hours posted on the window showed they were open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. When I arrived a little after 10:00 a.m., I noticed an impressive wall full of key blanks and thought I had come to the right place. Unfortunately, when I tried the door, it was locked. After looking more closely, I found a note stating that appointments are required for assistance. I called the phone number on the door and entered the extension listed on the note. Instead of reaching someone, I got a recording saying that no one was available to take my call and asking me to leave a message. My question to A&E is this: How do you expect to stay in business if customers can't get assistance during your posted business hours and can't even reach anyone by phone? My second question is how can you be considered open when the doors are locked and no one is available to help customers? I would give zero stars if Yelp allowed it. A&E let me down, and after reading other reviews, it appears I am not the only customer who has had this experience.

They were able to put the jacks exactly where we wanted, and used a professional faceplate for where the runs terminated in the network closet, as opposed to something open in the wall. They also cleaned up a bunch of non-functional cable from outside the house. Super patient and nice people, and Stephen gave us a lot of options for the install, even though it ended up just being the 2 runs.

It began with needing internet as well replacing a complicated, antiquated AV system. What started out as six clunky AV components with multiple remotes was replaced with ONE main device. Clean and easy. I now have kick-ass internet, non-glare TVs with Sonos bars giving me phenomenal sound. They also installed additional Sonos speakers so I can seamlessly listen to music throughout the house, something I love but have never had. There were other goodies I needed that they were able to supply: a new thermostat, camera door bell, and security cameras all thoughtfully placed around the property - and all connected to my phone. Hook Me Up Solutions covered all the bases I needed and did so in a timely, professional manner. And they're super nice guys! In many ways, they truly went above and beyond. I'm not the most tech savvy person but Matt and Paul patiently got me up to speed on how to use all the new technology, most of it from my phone. This was key. In addition, they also updated my lighting. I had outdated recessed lighting, which they replaced and installed dimmers throughout the house, making a huge difference. Last but not least, I had carted an antique chandelier from California that I wanted in my dining room (replacing a very generic fixture). I was waiting forever on an electrican to do this. Instead, Matt did a white-glove installation, reattaching and cleaning each crystal. I was completely blown away. It was phenomenal having all this done (we spaced it out into 4 stages) by guys who are amazing at what they do and truly care about how they treat my home. Yes, it was an investment. Great installer, and a very nice guy. I requested a quote to have ceiling speakers installed, and Charles replied within minutes. He arrived early with booties for the carpet and a face mask. Charles did one heck of a job installing the speakers, and hooked up the receiver. This was one of the best experiences in hiring someone to work in my home.
