They began work within a week and I was incredibly impressed with his team, how clean they kept the worksite (our front courtyard) and how they cleaned up after each day's work. They were organized, methodical and worked section by section around the entire roof. The men were all hard workers and very kind. The roof is now done to code (wasn't before), with new flashing and the proper protections under the cedar shingles for longevity. Could not be more thrilled. NEW STEEPLE EXTERIOR MCAS did a terrific job replacing the…read moreexterior of the steeple on our church. We are so pleased with their solution and it was a pleasure working with them. We don't know of any other company in the Westchester area that has the experience needed to perform this kind of work. The steeple, which dates from the original construction of the church in the 1970s, is made of plywood. The exterior had been coated with a thick, rubberized, highly water-resistant paint. Because it was only paint protecting the plywood from the elements, it required a new paint job every 6 or 7 years. And because the steeple is so high and hard to access, any painting had required either building scaffolding or renting a bucket truck. A rather expensive bit of upkeep. MCAS helped us analyze other easier-to-maintain options--either traditional shingles or metal sheathing. We decided on metal sheathing because 1) it would have a cleaner look and be more attractive, and 2) it would last longer. Yes, the installation would cost more, but long-term it would be a simpler and more elegant solution. MCAS gave us a great price on the install--around 20k. And despite equipment hassles (the rented bucket truck kept breaking down), they got the work done in 10 days. There was only one actual installer who was an expert with aluminum sheeting. He approached the work as an artist and did a beautiful, impeccable job. On top of that, he was a super-nice guy. Our new steeple should last for 50 years or more and continues to be a bright spot in the Tarrytown community. Michael Casolaro, the owner of MCAS, has a documented history of high-quality roofing work (customized copper gutters to standard reshingling--the gamut) and we are so glad we went with him on this project. P.S. MCAS also reshingled our roof at the same time they resurfaced our steeple, and they did an excellent job with that as well. P.P.S. Please note, this job was done in spring, 2019. Claudio was even nice enough to clean the chimney duct and secure a loose deck board free of charge. This is the second time I have used High Ridge for roof work and both times have been some of the best experiences I have ever had.

When I called on 7/1, the agent was super stoked to talk to me and was eager to send a guy out. In a very awkward way he was making sure I was "only" looking for gutters. I asked if that was a problem. He told me that they were a roofing company, I said that did gutters and the guy I spoke with on 7/1 didn't seem to think it would be an issue. After telling me he shouldn't show because he damaged his reputation, but requested he did as I took off work to meet with him. He showed. Mike was nice he was thorough. When asked about the roof, said he would clean and repair the gutters for free if I commit to a roofing project. I told him I didn't need anything fancy on the shed. He told me all about metal roofs. I said I wanted the less expensive option. Mike was pretty confident this was the cheapest option. His quote came in quadruple every other quote. When I asked if he would consider other options besides metal to get a better comparison, Mike told me he doesn't like working with anything but. Last time I checked, I'm the customer - so I think we should work with what I want and in the price range I want. As a hail Mary, he tried to kick me a bargain quote to do both new gutters and a roof, both came in double to triple compared to other companies. It must be so expensive to pay for their silly wrapped vehicle and polos that looked stained because of all the graphics.

I genuinely cannot recommend JKR Construction highly enough. They are one of those rare contractors…read moreyou find and then never want to use anyone else. My experience with them actually began years before my full roof replacement, when I had a leak that had been an ongoing problem for years. Other contractors were telling me I would need to replace my skylights and spend thousands of dollars. JKR came out, correctly identified where the water was actually getting in, and fixed the problem without trying to sell me work I didn't need. That repair never leaked again. They saved me thousands of dollars then, and their honesty was the reason they were the first people I called when my roof eventually reached the point that it truly needed to be replaced. The full roof replacement only reinforced how much I trust them. Joe was completely upfront about what my roof needed and what the job would cost. Their proposal included the extensive plywood replacement my roof required rather than giving me an attractive initial price and then surprising me with thousands of dollars in additional charges once the roof was opened. Their pricing was extremely fair and, more importantly, transparent. The skylights are another perfect example of the kind of company JKR is. This time, the two skylights really did need to be replaced, but the existing openings were not standard sizes. Custom replacement skylights would have been extraordinarily expensive. Instead of simply passing that enormous cost on to me, Joe and his team figured out a way to rework the openings so that standard-size skylights could be installed. That solution alone saved me thousands and thousands of dollars. It's exactly the kind of problem-solving and consideration for the homeowner's money that I have come to expect from them. The workmanship and work ethic of the entire crew were exceptional. Alberto and the crew were incredible. They were here every day, worked incredibly hard and often worked late. This was a major project, including replacing a tremendous amount of plywood, and they used high-quality materials throughout. They protected my property during the work and cleaned up meticulously, even coming inside to clean dust that had settled from all the work being done above. They were equally wonderful about the gutters. There was a particular issue with how the front of my house needed to drain, and I really did not want a downspout placed where the obvious solution would have put it. Rather than telling me that was simply how it had to be done, they listened to me, worked through the problem, and pitched everything properly so that it functioned without compromising the appearance of my house. But what distinguishes JKR most for me is trust. I have dealt with enough contractors to know how difficult that is to find. Joe and his team have had multiple opportunities over the years to tell me I needed expensive work, add costs once a project began, or take the easiest solution. They didn't. Instead, they have repeatedly found ways to save me money while still doing the job correctly and using quality materials. I have already recommended JKR to friends and family, and I will continue to do so. I honestly would not trust anyone else with my roof. If I could give them more than five stars, I would.

Even the big name company that installed my roof 2 years ago wouldn't do the work. JKR was happy to get the business and was fairly priced.
