I've been to this nail salon about 5 times now and I usually go for acrylics. Each time they have been very welcoming and polite. They have great service and always do a really great job, especially when it comes to shaping. The only issue I would say is that there is a heavy chemical odour when you walk in; however, they usually open the door to let air in. This time around I opted for my long-desired chrome nails and they did not disappoint (colours are limited). My acrylics always last 3-4 weeks. read more

Yesterday afternoon I called for a last minute appointment for a pedicure and they were so accommodating to fit be in an hour before close. As a first time customer, I was impressed. Lisa gave me the best pedicure I've ever had! I'm pretty fussy about my toes but her meticulous attention put me right at ease. She was gentle and thorough. The salon was busy, with both plenty of walk-ins and regulars and was still very clean and efficient without feeling rushed. I've been getting my nails done acrylic for 3 years at various locations, and never had a problem, after visiting Top Queen Nails my fingers got swollen, the skin started peeling off and under my nails something nasty started growing! I'm sure it's an infection! I thought it my nails reaction bad to it, so I did the mistake of going there again and it made my fingers even worse!! Other than them not being clean the service is AWFUL! I had to wait for even though I had an appointment! A lady started doing my nails and then her boss asked her to go do something else in the middle of my appointment! The only reason worth going there is if ONLY Zing does your nails. The lady was very nice and polite. I'm so happy she made sure the glue wasn't stuck on my skin because my other nail place didn't and when they filed, it made me bleed. Do not waste your time. Nail care was fine but this establishment is not conscientious about the finishing touches. The polish was visibly thick when it was applied and clearly will never dry. The technician spent as much time painting my nails as she did using acetone to remove the stray polish. The only reason this isn't a 1 is because their final product, at least with me, was pretty good. Final product = pretty good. The experience = god awful. First off - if you have any type of sensitivity to smell, do not visit this place. I am not particularly sensitive, but the EXTREME chemical smell was absolutely overwhelming and made me feel ill. It's a thousand times worse at the front near the waiting area, but not so bad when you go into the back. It's truly shocking how bad it is, and it makes me very concerned about the ventilation in there. Second off - the service is TERRIBLE. I have not once had an appointment go smoothly. The first time I went there, they were a full FORTY FIVE MINUTES late for my appointment. They clearly overbook and push people in, because I watched them shuffle people from seats to the waiting area (myself included) - I'd spend twice the time there than at my current salon because they'd constantly have me wait between steps because the manicurist would be handling two people (or would have two manicurist handle one service and swap in the middle). The final straw was when my friend and I - both with appointments - went to get our manicures, and they forced my friend to sit awkwardly in the pedicure chair to get her hands done. Truly, I'm not fussy about manicures - I'm no frills and happy with the bare minimum - but this place is pretty BLAH. Added to this the fact that it's not cheap? No thanks. The final product is pretty good, but not worth the wait or dealing with the crappy service. I mostly visited a few times because it is literally a 3 minute walk from my house. I found an amazing salon up on Victoria Park that is significantly cheaper and has way better service. I won't be back. read more

Got a pedicure $28. They have massage chairs which is awesome. Also soak your feet, take their time scrubbing the bottoms and trimming your nails. I definitely appreciate the scrubbing! For the price it is an incredible value! $25 for gel refill is amazing! They take their time doing a pedicure and the price is unbeatable for the service! They had three different technicians work on my nails. What should have taken 45mins to do, took 1.5 hours. The owner John is a very nice man, he also noticed what a terrible job one of the girls did. The receptionist Peter was really friendly, tried to accommodate me the best he could. I honestly used to love top queen. I would come to Wendy and she always did such an amazing job with my biogel. Recently I went in for a refill and they said they would book me with someone else since Wendy no longer works there. Firstly, 4 people did my nails. The owner took care of me first and only put ONE coat of gel. I didn't say anything because I didn't want problems. One day after, my nails Are breaking in the middle due to lack of gel and they look horrible. I'm so sad and wish that one trained individual would do my biogel. Not coming back :( read more

If I could I would give 0 stars. I booked an appointment for my friends and I, and I got shellac nails. It was very packed to the point where we still had to wait even after we booked an appointment. It was $20 for the base and for each layer they added an extra $5. When they did my nails it was very patchy and transparent to the point where you can see my nail beds. Since I was unsatisfied with the product and the service I did not tip, which caused a huge commotion in the store and started yelling at me and the employees. I was shuffled to 3 different people to do a simple French tip. On top of that I became extremely frustrated as they picked up the phone numerous times while doing my nails. This was unusual because it was not my first time at the shop. I was recognized and sat myself but not assisted. I sat in the pedicure chair for a few moments before I realized the chair had not been cleaned from the previous customer. Worst salon I've ever been to. They completely destroyed my nails. Went in to have a set of bio gel nails removed and they proceeded to remove them as if they were acrylics. Ripped half my nail off in the process. Now I have to wait till my nails grow out and they are extremely painful and like mush... AND they didn't even get all the gel off!! Do not go here. I really really really wanted to like this place since I recently moved just up the street and I'm so sad that this place didn't do it for me. For a place that is very much average, their prices are ridiculous. I went to get a shellac pedicure which usually costs me $35 at other places ($25 for pedicure and $10 for shellac) and since that is the standard price at most places, I expected it to be the same here since its kind of dirty and everyone is yapping in their language the whole time. I was extremely shocked when I went to pay and he told me my total was $48. I said whaaaat? so its $35 for a pedicure? (thinking its $10 for shellac polish). He told me its $28 for a pedicure and $20 for shellac on the toes. I was so upset because I wanted this place to be my new nail salon but that price is ridiculous for what you get. I can get a pedicure at an upscale spa for less than that. Anyways, I hope they come back down to planet earth and adjust their prices according to service and environment. read more
