The next time I came, the barber commented on something being wrong with my scalp, implying that I was unclean. I thought this was curious at the time but ignored it since I do not have a hygiene problem. But from that moment on every time I came for a haircut I was given the absolute worst haircuts ever. Not a one of them had the courtesy to tell me what I later had to find out for myself. The combination of my age and hard water in my area was causing scalp and skin problems for which I had to see a dermatologist. It was NOT due to poor hygiene. I have since moved on to a better barber who does not discriminate against the elderly or fails to provide appropriate feedback for their clients.

Easily one of the worst barber experiences I've had. While I was in the chair, the barbers were loudly talking amongst themselves, casually using the word "retard" and discussing how the world is supposedly run by pedophiles. Then I mentioned that the last shop I went to was in a wonderful Salvadoran neighborhood in DC where the barbers didn't speak much English. Another barber chimed in, "Great, the nation's capital and they don't speak English." Casual racism apparently comes with the haircut. Unfortunately, the haircut itself was just as bad. I specifically asked for a burst fade. The entire cut lasted maybe 20 minutes, he left a ridiculous amount of bulk in the back, and there was essentially no blending. When I asked whether he was planning to blend the back, he rolled his eyes and exchanged a look with another barber, which I could clearly see in the mirror. At that point, I abruptly ended the haircut. The barber told me he'd only been cutting hair for two years, and it showed. Between the terrible haircut, the attitude, and the offensive conversations happening openly around clients, this place feels like it hires for the aesthetic rather than professionalism or skill. Whack shop. One star.
