I heard great things about the Bowtie Barber and was lucky enough to pull an appointment due to a cancellation. I opted for the Deluxe Haircut priced at $35 and was not disappointed. The great thing about the shoppe is the appointment and timing. I arrived a little early and went directly to the chair. Being a first timer, we had a quick discussion about my preference and problem areas, and off to cutting. Great cut, love the straight razor work, wash and condition post cut with hot towel service, followed by a final dry/style, cut check and neck/shoulder massage. I can't stress enough how amazing the service is, the quality of the cut from a barber who knows his business and listens to his client, and the attention to detail. I owned salons and day spas for 25 years. As such, I can be picky about my hair, and while I have found a few professionals who can cut hair well, the overall professional experience has been underwhelming. There are two components to any hair appointment; skill/technical and service. Some independent contractors cannot control the level of service they can provide, and others just choose not to. I am pleased to say that with Jeff at Bowtie Barber, you CAN have both in Coeur d'Alene. First and SO IMPORTANT for my lifestyle, they have appointments. And you can make them easily online. Super cool. I despise waiting for a service, my time is important to me, I don't have enough and I want to get in and out. So this was an immediate win. But what about the service? Well, here's the message I sent to Jeff the Barber: "Hey I just wanted to let you know that the barber SERVICE that you gave me is very likely the best I have ever had, including some very high end salons and including the salons I owned and operated. You did a GREAT job and I look forward to coming again." The service was really super good. One of the best shampoos I have ever had. Straight razor on the back and sides. Hot towel with eucalyptus and tea tree. I didn't feel even slightly rushed. My haircut was very good. I've been to barbers in Chicago, Seattle, Vancouver, and lots of other BIG cities but this shop beats them all. This is truly a "barber shop", no fancy male models, no tatted up fluff balls, just a great haircut (and a shave if you want it all) and good conversation at a price you can afford without breaking the bank.
