I'm a regular customer here and today I ordered a peachy melon smoothie with 25% sugar and sago. The drink was watery, extremely sweet and not a smoothie consistency. I called to tell the girl about it and she apologized and said it was on her but didn't offer a resolution to replace my drink or offer to make me one that's actually drinkable. This was my favorite place but seeing how she didn't give me a replacement offer, I'm truly disappointed. I've been a loyal customer giving great reviews for the longest and I'm just bummed they offered me no replacement. She said she over blended it but it had no sign of ice and was mostly liquid form like she used too much artificially flavored syrup. The drink wasn't a smoothie. I also don't like how it gives the smoothie price but when you customize it only has the option to charge you one dollar and some change for the only cup size they offer. Very upbeat, bright boba tea place. Got the jasmine milk tea with grass jelly and taro milk tea with taro crystal boba, both with 25% sugar and no ice. Was very pleased with the sugar level- a lot of times, the drinks tend to be too sweet even with lower sugar levels, but 25% really means 25% here! The drinks were super cute and colorful (see picture). The employees were efficient even with a fairly long line. Do note that the taro drinks appear to be made from taro milk tea powder, not real taro (judging by the color and taste). I would also recommend against the jasmine milk tea. I came with a friend around 8:30pm on a Monday night and there were two girls working behind the counter. A dear friend of mine, who moved away from Chicago, and I meet up for a non-alcoholic drink and a walk around Lake Michigan each time she is back in town. Because of that, we want a place that is quick and has an extensive variety of great non-alcoholic drinks so we can return multiple times without feeling tired of the options -- Top Tao Tea on Broadway is our place. We visit on different days and can always order and receive our drinks in 5 minutes or less. However, they do have around five booths at this location in a clean and adorably decorated space. for those who don't want their drink to-go. Masks are required to order and when not seated though a sign on the door does read masks are not required for those with the vaccine, so make sure to bring one regardless. The staff are also wearing masks! The drinks are a great value as well, around $5 for a 16 oz tea.
