The insulation work done was incredible very happy. When Russ started the porch I only intended on doing new railings as porch was old. Russ discovered the porch was completely rotten. I said can you build a new porch? Without hesitation Russ said certainly. I was really appreciative as I knew it added more time on the work previously discussed. Then in the middle of doing porch got letter from home owners insurance needing roof taken care due to moss and chimney. They gave me 1 month! Russ said no problem they will do whatever I need done. During snow, rain and wind they put new metal roof on within that month period. I cannot express the amount of stress Russ and the crew took off my shoulders. I will never have anyone else do work for me but Russ and the crew. I know no one that would ever go to the extent during winter weather that Russ and the crew did for me. Run from this contractor. He's old and very slick. He will probably be your lowest estimate you…read moreget and he seems to have lots of experience. He will tell you his price is locked in. Then as soon as the contract is signed and construction begins he will keep asking for more money for his sub- contractors and himself. He will refuse to do items in the contract such as siding, exterior stairs, roofing, soffit, railings, ext. He will request you shrink down your plans or remove items specifically agreed upon such as drainage or central air. He will push for electric baseboard heating and no a/c even though that's not what you want. Lastly, after he's walked off the job incomplete. He will send you an additional bill because the bank auditors will agree with the homeowner that Barry Cummins didn't complete the contract and failed to complete many items. Then the building suppliers start sending you bills and calling because of paying for the materials himself, he charges it to your name somehow and pockets the material money the bank issued him. Worst contractor ever. Go with one that's more expensive to start and it will save you thousands in the long run.
