I immediately contacted The RealReal's customer service, only to be told that my account was "under review" and that I'd receive a response in 24-48 hours. Unfortunately, I didn't have that kind of time. The representatives were clearly outsourced, uninformed on backend issues, and unable to escalate my concerns or provide any meaningful assistance. Following their advice, I attempted to place the order again. The same thing happened--cancelled without explanation. Two family members also tried placing orders, and all of their transactions were similarly cancelled and flagged for "review." By Wednesday, with no solution and no ability to speak with a supervisor, I tried one final time using a friend's account. Again--cancelled. This was hands down the worst customer experience I've ever had with any so-called luxury retailer. There is no transparency, no resolution, and virtually no real customer support. If you're planning to order from The RealReal, be warned: * Orders may be abruptly cancelled without explanation * Customer service is ineffective and outsourced * There's no escalation path or accountability * Express shipping guarantees mean nothing if your order never processes Search before you buy.
