This shop is a treasure. The owner is a delight, and has a very special artistic eye. You will find things here you won't find anywhere else, a beautifully curated collection. When I win the lottery, I am going to drop so much money here. I love this small boutique and while it's not a place I can currently buy a lot of pieces from, I love everything everything I've taken home from them. It's not outrageous or anything (think Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's price-wise). What I love most about the store is they carry a mix of fun pieces and staple pieces that can be styled to be age appropriate for almost anyone. If you follow their Instagram, they post when new pieces come in and often show how the staff styles them so you know you can wear an item multiple ways. While the shop has "Jeans" in the name, they carry so much more than high-end denim. They have the loveliest dresses, blouses and shoes. They have the softest leather moto jackets and fun festival-like band shirts. I often like to walk by just so I can drool over their window displays. read more

I stopped by this boutique today and was browsing through the store and I saw some Michael Stars blouses on a wooden stand, so I was going through to see the sizes. After looking at the styles, I decided I didn't like them, but I placed them back as they were. However, as I was walking out, I noticed the younger blonde girl with long hair( I think it's the owner's daughter or worker) seemed upset and threw one of the blouses on the sofa and started folding the blouses in a frustrating manner and she looked upset- So unprofessional! I will never shop here again or go inside.. This heavy set girl acts like a Snob! Very rude! I don't know how this store is still in business, because I never see anyone in this store. read more

I come to Tustin about 2 times a year. I have been wanting to go in this store and finally did. I was just making friendly conversation with the woman working in there but she made me feel uncomfortable with some condescending comments towards things I said. Bra wall of Free People bras has a good collection of comfy yet cute bras -- love the lace and bohemian styles as they are cute under loose camisoles and look like they're meant to be seen as opposed to a normal bra strap. I started shopping at Johnny Jeans when it first opened its doors. I live in Irvine but visited Old Town Tustin while running errands one day. I stumbled on JJ when its window display caught my eye. Right off the bat, I was greeted by Brenda, one of the most sincere, friendly and happy shop owners I have ever met. As the buyer for this store too, she knows her demographic. As much as I tried, there's never been a time where I walked out of there without a bag. This isn't because Brenda's a pushy salesperson but because the things she has in the store are just so darn comfortable and unique. I also typically don't like to try on clothes in boutiques because I always feel pressured to buy and I am a size 12/14/16 (depending on brand) so fit is always questionable. This is especially tricky since I'm only 37 and still feel like wearing "younger" styles which is very hard to find for the larger sizes. You either get trendy cool designs but in cheap fabrics or you get the fantastic fabrics in classic designs which are nice but not that cool. Even though the brands are national brands, she focuses on clothes that are soft to the touch (a MAJOR plus for me) and made in the USA. These are clothes that I can dress up or down with very little effort. Michael Star is a brand I repeatedly buy from her and I don't see those styles or colors in places like Nordstroms that also carry Michael Star. Brenda will honestly tell me if the brand runs small or large or normal so I either have the courage to try it on or know to not even bother. Brenda doesn't get offended if you say you don't like a style. She wants to know if you want to share because it only helps her buy better for the future. I just love to come and check her stuff out every couple months or so. I have been happy with all of my purchases here. It is truly a gem in this little adorable town. read more

I found this store by accident in Old Town Tustin and was so glad I did. The owner was very helpful in finding me the perfect pair of Denimocracy Jeans and Michael Starr tank top. I also got a very original necklace there that I wear all the time. I had my 3 year old with me and the owner was so nice to him, she even gave him a seat and some pretzels to keep him happy while I tired things on! As a tall woman with a 36" inseam, it is difficult for me to find jeans. Although its gotten somewhat easier in the last few years, sometimes I need to sacrifice quality and high fashion for length. WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT THE ANSWER WOULD BE IN OLD TOWN TUSTIN?!?!? Johnny Jeans carries all the best brands of denim in a number of styles. The owner knows everything imaginable about each brand, so if there is something I want, she knows which companies make it. She makes buying great clothes easy and fun. The interior of the store is gorgeous, the selection is amazing and the owner makes you feel as though you are shopping in her closet. She knows where everything is, it's back story and how it will fit. I love supporting local business and Johnny Jeans allows me to feel like I'm in LA as I do it. Old Town Tustin is a sleepy little corner of Orange County that has all the elements you want in a quiet downtown, but not the hustle and bustle like Old Town Orange. Maybe that helps keep it such a wonderful place where there is plenty of parking and a less commercial atmosphere. If I can find a way to check off some errands via Old Town Tustin, I will do it. Between the Wooden Indian for a haircut, several great eateries and Gary's Rack for clothing, there is just the right combination of places to hit. Now, however, we can add Johnny Jeans to the list of places to stop. Johnny Jeans has a bit more hip and flair than most of Old Town so it stands out. The front window decor is tasteful and patriotic; pretty much a perfect match to the vibe of Tustin. Inside you will find an array of dressed up casual wear for men and women. I was immediately greeted by the cheerful tones of the owner, Brenda, and shortly thereafter met Paul her weekend labor assistant (and husband). This Tustin couple had been waiting five years to get into this space, so when the space opened they took a leap into the retail world (a credit to their bravery in what is still a challenging economy). Brenda was personable and engaging. She immediately started showing me various options for jeans and shirts in the store, and she provided a backstory to each option that was presented. As I explained my preferences, she nixed items from the selection and dived into the ones that still made the grade. I quickly found two pairs of jeans and a shirt. Tailoring is included via the sole proprietor tailor across the street (Saul who is formerly of Saks Fifth Avenue), so the hemming of the jeans was a quick walk and short turn around. Plus, it had the added bonus of helping another Old Town Tustin business generate some revenue (not to mention some sales tax dollars for my hometown). I returned a couple weeks later to Johnny Jeans with my wife and daughter. Brenda welcomed me by first name upon my entry into the store. We found a knockout dress for my wife, and Brenda helped my daughter with a mini-fashion show in the store. There are lots of places that sell nice jeans and hip shirts, but there is only one place in Old Town Tustin that enables you to shop for them and interact with the actual owner.
