Stop at Houston & West Street, NYC
    Ebony M.

TopView has added a stop at Houston & West Street. Which is 4 blocks away from the subway. The nearest attraction is Soho, the Whitney Museum, Meat packing district, Little island which are all a hike from the drop off stop. This hop on hop off tour bus is a money grab for unsuspecting tourists. Not a fan of the men harassing you to buy a tour package. In my opinion tourists can take NYC MTA bus for much less, hop on or hop off without any hassles. If you want a more upscale experience hire a luxury car service to drive you around to all the tourist attractions while you relax. Otherwise walking is a great way to explore the NYC attractions. Take a ferry ride to Staten Island to enjoy the views of the NYC skyline and statue of liberty and not deal with feeling like you are being hustled. Read the reviews before booking the tour.

    Air conditioning vents not working
    Tisha J.

We purchased our tickets and boarded the first bus, only to discover there is no air-conditioning on any of your buses. In the middle of summer, with hot and humid weather, this is unacceptable. We request a full refund, as the ride was extremely uncomfortable and the driver showed no concern for passenger well-being. There are air conditioning vents that clearly are not working or being kept up... Another passenger asked the driver to open the windows, and he responded that they do not open. To make matters worse, another passenger hit their head on an uneven section while trying to sit down, and the driver remained indifferent. With no ventilation and no safety consideration, this is not only poor customer service but also a serious safety issue.

Misleading and stressful experience - beware I was traveling with my two kids and had only about three hours before heading to the Natural History Museum. A street seller stopped me and insisted that if I bought this ticket, we could "see everything" and that it was a better deal. I told him clearly that I didn't have time. He said it was fine and pushed me to buy. I bought 3 tickets at 3:18 PM -- only to find out the bus would not even leave until after 4 PM. That was never mentioned before the sale. When I asked for a refund, I was sent in circles: call customer service, email a request, wait 48 hours. After waiting, they suddenly said refunds were not allowed. This felt dishonest and extremely frustrating, especially while traveling with children. If the salesperson had told the truth, I would never have purchased. Be very careful with street sales -- ask exact departure times before buying.

How long till next bus I received this message multiple times as I refreshed from 1:50 till 3

When I mentioned we had limited time on the second day, he said he'd make it a 3-day ticket instead. When the ticket printed still showing 2 days, he assured me it would be adjusted. I was suspicious but purchased anyway. The next morning at check-in, we explained it was supposed to be a 3-day ticket, not two. The staff member said there was nothing he could do. That evening, I tried customer service chat. After wading through useless automated responses, I finally got a human. The initial responses weren't great, but I was eventually told to email a photo of my receipt, which I did. As of the following day, I still haven't received a response. The chat experience itself was frustrating -- it kept bouncing back to a bot even while I was mid-conversation with a live agent. On top of that, we purchased 4 tickets but were only given one ticket/receipt for the group. This means we can't split up and travel separately, and customer service had no way to accommodate this. In this day and age, that's unacceptable. Bottom line: Be careful when purchasing -- the street salespeople are not trustworthy, and once they have your money, support is minimal to nonexistent.

However, it was actually just a ferry ride, which is free, with no real organization of getting on except for running and making sure you can see the tour guide and then getting off to instantly to catch the next one back as soon as you got there. This should be explained in the details. Additionally, you do stop at the places mentioned but you do not get access to go into anything. For the Brooklyn Bridge it was basically just walking to the front for a photo and leaving. Same for Grand Central Terminal, you go in and walk around quickly while he explains a few things. For $220/pp, I expected a bit more. Martin was our tour guide and he was great. His voice was loud and he knew what he was doing. Just keep in mind that you should honestly be in shape for this tour because you are consistently having to jog/run to keep up with the tour guide to stay on schedule. I would not recommend for anyone who cannot keep up. All in all, we had a smaller group, so it felt more intimate and it was nice meeting others from different countries and states. And you are able to get nice pictures throughout.

I researched various options and saw the many positive reviews for this company. The day of our tour, we arrived at our meeting location that was outside of McDonald's. I knew from reading other reviews that we would be looking for a small unmarked van. In order to make their day special, I wanted to take them on a tour of New York City. As a local, I would normally do a walking tour, but when the temperatures hit below, freezing, my Floridian cousins could not handle the cold. OK, I admit it. I couldn't handle it well either. So I was looking for an experience that would give me the tour. I wanted to share with them, but better than a hop on hop off bus. That's when I found The Ride! Honestly, the experience was exceptional! You get on the bus and you sit sideways to see the incredible cityscape of New York around you. We went around Times Square, radio city, Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, and the very bottom of Central Park. When you experience The Ride, you have two tour guides on the bus who tell you some facts about the city in a very funny and interesting way. The bus itself also gives you facts, because "The Ride" bus also has a personality of its own. My cousins had no idea we were doing this, and they absolutely loved it . Because it was called the holiday ride, we also saw some surprises along the way, including dancers, actors, and Freestyle rappers! It really made it feel like a true New York City Disney World attraction. You also can't control what you see on the street, so sometimes people wave at you just to wave and sometimes people make interesting gestures at you lol . Overall, as far as tourism goes for New York City , 10/10, 5 stars, and that's coming from a local born and raised. This was an awesome experience to bring my family to.

They made us switch buses because they said the first one wasn't working. Then, they sent us off in another bus that didn't have a working automated tour system- and that's all they do. They do NOT have any real tour guides because any normal company would've sent a live tour guide with us when we'd already been on 2 non-working buses. Then, they'll allow their employees to ride up top with paying guests- I wouldn't care except he decided to blast his highly inappropriate music (there were kids on the tour including mine) which we had to listen to because the tour system wasn't working. We were with this sh**ty company for more than 2 hours and all we did was sit for an hour then drive around the crappiest parts of NYC and stare. If I wanted to drive in a bus around the city and stare at trash, I could've taken public transportation. I'm so bummed because I've been before and had wonderful tours but this was my boys' first time. They think NYC was the worst part of our trip. And, that is what this tour company does.
