Made a big mistake coming to Amara Dental, Dr. Jordan ruined my teeth. Be cautious coming here and getting dental work done. Regardless of how many positive reviews they may have, they do make mistakes and the mistakes that they make, people have to live with for the rest of their lives. She didn't disclose to me that she was going to shave down the adjacent teeth to my crown and lower the level of my crown. She created a situation where she shaved down my teeth and now the bottom row of my teeth do not aligned properly. I'm a grown woman I'm 43 years old and I look absolutely ridiculous. Being customer-facing makes it even 10 times more difficult to have to walk around and look the way that I do now after Dr Jordan decided to play arts and crafts with my teeth. She shaved down two perfectly good teeth that had already been reshapened previous with the other crowns that I had done years ago. She didn't disclose to me that she was going to completely change the alignment of the bottom row of my teeth I look absolutely ridiculous I'm a grown woman and I have to look like this for the rest of my life. The only solution that she was able to come up with is for me to pay to have crowns put on the teeth that she destroyed. So now I'm pretty much walking around with shaved down teeth and a crown that doesn't come up to the level that it should come up to. To add insult to injury like a big punch to the face they sit there and constantly send you nonstop emails and text messages if you have any balance due with them and if you don't pay it right away they keep adding money on to it until you do pay it. I was given no explanation as to why I still owed money even though I paid in my balance full nobody disclosed to me that I had money that was still owed and due they just kept sending constant non-stop emails and text messages bombarding me. There are much better dentist out there, dentist that have more experience and that have been in business a lot longer than this place. I would have went back to the original dentist that did the crowns in the first place but my insurance didn't cover that particular dentist. I highly suggest you do your research, read the reviews and don't focus on the positive reviews, read the negative reviews because of those are the real true, authentic, genuine reviews that you need to be focusing on. Amara Dental, thanks for ruining my teeth, I have to walk around looking like this for the rest of my life. Word of Mouth goes a long way. I'm in the process of placing a complaint with the board of dentistry in the state of New Jersey and the attorney's General's office if you have a similar experience, I suggest you do the same.

So the actual dental care is top notch. When I moved to NJ I saw Dr. Lisko from 2014 to 2019. After…read moremoving to a different town, the 30 min drive to Collingswood became too much so I switched to a dentist closer to my house. Said dentist had no openings for a cleaning, so I decided to check if Dr. Lisko had anything available, which he did. I went to see him for a cleaning. He said his office is unwilling to see me and that he will officially release me after today's visit. He had the front desk get up the paperwork to release me- he made it very clear I am no longer welcome. It frustrates me that they willingly put me on the schedule to see him, only to have him dismiss me in that manner. This is a warning of sorts to current/future patients - just want to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. I'm hoping that their front office staff will only schedule people who the doctor will kindly see from now on. I wish I had just waited for my most recent dentist.

In fact, I…read morethought he was a great dentist until I very nearly had a tooth pulled for no reason on his advice. Dr. Lisko filled a cavity on a back molar for me, and it was still bothering me a bit, so I went back to have him check it out. He said there was a problem with the filling, and I would either need a root canal (which would last maybe 10 years), or have the tooth pulled. Since this was not the most critical tooth and a root canal is... well, a root canal, I opted to have the tooth pulled. He doesn't do extractions, so I made an appointment with an oral surgeon he suggested, for some weeks out when they had availability. In the meantime, my tooth continued to get worse, so I went to another dentist to see if they could pull it before I went on vacation. Here I was told, and I quote, "Lose a tooth for this? Is he out of his mind?" I did not need a root canal or extraction. What I needed was to have the tooth properly cleaned, as Dr. Lisko's hygienist had evidently failed to do, because the buildup was irritating the gums. Needless to say, I'm moving to a new dentist.

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT AN IMPLANT IN YOUR FOREHEAD!…read moreI should have bolted when they charged me a $500 "chair-sitting fee" before I even saw a doctor. Once they snapped the bib on--which was basically a hostage restraint--the dentist spent 30 seconds "consulting" me by shouting at my shins and then drilling so deep I can now feel my pulse in my sinus cavity. I went in for a loose filling and left with a titanium implant protruding from my nostril that currently picks up weather reports from Delaware. When I asked for a sink to rinse the blood, they pointed to a puddle in the parking lot and told me sinks were "premium upgrades." They demanded $9,000 upfront for a "Plan" that apparently includes ruining my life. I finally escaped with a mouthful of gauze and a 5% credit card surcharge for my "troubles." This place isn't a dentist office; it's a high-stakes extortion ring with better lighting. RUN.

Twice, I asked if they took my insurance. I was told we could straighten that out when I got there. When I arrived for my appointment, I waited 5 min. for someone to arrive and gather my information. (I should have walked out, like their sign says, if I waited more than a minute for someone to greet me.) I was taken into a dental chair and started being interviewed by the tech. After answering some questions, I asked her if they took my insurance. She went to the front desk, came back, and said, "We don't take insurance here." Red flags came out and I quickly decided I wasn't staying. I got up and she told me I should wait in the chair. I refused to and walked to the front desk. No one was there (surprise?). I waited until the receptionist returned and asked for any paperwork I had given her. I told her I felt deceived by this business model and they would never receive my patronage. By the way, I can't imagine what it would be like to go through this if I were really in pain. They seem to want to extort you in the chair and force you to use their services. Not my kind of company. Oh, if you pay by credit card, they only (!) charge a 3% fee to use it. Run, far, far away, from this company. As for as the competency of their doctors, I wouldn't know. I'm not going that far with this deceiving company.
