Once they snapped the bib on--which was basically a hostage restraint--the dentist spent 30 seconds "consulting" me by shouting at my shins and then drilling so deep I can now feel my pulse in my sinus cavity. I went in for a loose filling and left with a titanium implant protruding from my nostril that currently picks up weather reports from Delaware. When I asked for a sink to rinse the blood, they pointed to a puddle in the parking lot and told me sinks were "premium upgrades." They demanded $9,000 upfront for a "Plan" that apparently includes ruining my life. I finally escaped with a mouthful of gauze and a 5% credit card surcharge for my "troubles." Deceiving! This company is deceiving. I set up an appointment for a cleaning because my dentist moved to another town. I was called twice and texted to confirm my appointment. Twice, I asked if they took my insurance. I was told we could straighten that out when I got there. When I arrived for my appointment, I waited 5 min. for someone to arrive and gather my information. (I should have walked out, like their sign says, if I waited more than a minute for someone to greet me.) I was taken into a dental chair and started being interviewed by the tech. After answering some questions, I asked her if they took my insurance. She went to the front desk, came back, and said, "We don't take insurance here." Red flags came out and I quickly decided I wasn't staying. I got up and she told me I should wait in the chair. I refused to and walked to the front desk. No one was there (surprise?). I waited until the receptionist returned and asked for any paperwork I had given her. I told her I felt deceived by this business model and they would never receive my patronage. By the way, I can't imagine what it would be like to go through this if I were really in pain. They seem to want to extort you in the chair and force you to use their services. Not my kind of company. Oh, if you pay by credit card, they only (!) charge a 3% fee to use it. Run, far, far away, from this company. As for as the competency of their doctors, I wouldn't know. The technician and dentist were very nice. However, I needed 3 teeth extracted which was scheduled for the next week, but they needed payment that day of $1401.00. I paid with my ATM card after transferring funds. They called me the next week 1/2 day before the scheduled procedure and said that the endodontist said I needed to see an oral surgeon. I said fine, but I need my money back. I have been now been trying for 2 months to get my money back without success. I call the office almost every week. They had my wife in there a couple of days ago. They were nice as can be and then they were talking about her teeth. "Well #8 upper needs to go yada yada" Before they were done "It looks like $7500 to get your teeth in order. What PLAN would you like?" She went in there because of a sensitive tooth and another one that was a little loose". Now they have her in the chair and that little "bib" around her neck. She's dying to get out the door. She says "I will have to talk to my husband about this" Then the hygenist says "Would you like for us to call him 'right now' since you are here. My wife says NO. I see a review by Avis A. who says how This is a sparkling clean, modern office with friendly, competent staff and a really good dentist! She says she had to shop around and you and your pocketbook were thrilled. Well, we can "shop around" a lot better than you but we won't be going through the sparkling door/office again. My husband went to Universal Dental. After xrays and exam, they told him he needed quite a bit of dental work. However, they want their money UP FRONT. He was in a bind, so agreed to have the work done, to the tune of over six grand. Now, only a few years later, the caps have fallen off, decay under several teeth, etc.. He is now seeing another dentist and it will cost in excess of five grand to restore the mess Universal left. I also went to Universal a few years ago. I saw Dr. Meier. She informed me I needed several procedures done and it would cost over five grand. That must be their magic number. I refused, told her I only wanted the one tooth pulled that was bothering me. My first time I went to Universal Dentistry it was a good experience because they had professional quality employees..I had my teeth cleaned and I purchased upper partial dentures. They were very informative and I had 2 appointments to get the correct fitting of my dentures which were perfect no problem at all..After a few years go by I go back for upper and lower partials I noticed that the staff had changed and the receptionist was helping the dental tech with my fitting..I went back 4 times for the fitting which was unusual..I was told that I got a more expensive set but they weren't going to charge me for the difference but after I got them they were hurting constantly couldn't eat with them went back 2x for adjustment still not correct..Just recently went to get another adjustment and inquire about since you ordered the wrong set of dentures can you correct them and give me what I previously had which are the flexible ones instead of the metal ones that they ordered wrong I was told it would cost $4000 now I already paid $2000 I told them no and left very disappointed in their service never to go back again because they are very unprofessional and just want your money I decided to go elsewhere where your care your satisfied is a priority..Also I paid $1000 for Temporary Lower Partials I didn't know that until the unprofessional dental tech made a mistake and mentioned that to me she looked shocked when I stated why you charge me $1000 for a Temporary Lower Dentures and $1000 for Permanent Upper Dentures the temporary lower Partials should not have the same price as the permanent upper dentures I am confused and furious .. read more

I had the misfortune of going to the Cherry Hill Office. There were no other patients in the office which I should have taken as a hint. I had questions about a denture. #1 - Could the denture I had be repaired? #2 - What would a new one cost ? The response was rude and I was steered to an implant as the only solution. I was told the one I had could not be repaired, she said ''they do not make that type of denture any more and how could I walk around without my tooth " You have to do something", " take you denture back to where you got it" The whole exchange was unprofessional and foolish. One of the most foolish thing was not to have someone explain the implant process. I have one missing tooth . My wife took the denture to her dentist today who promises to have it back quickly. I still have no info on a new denture or an implant. No way to do business. Should be a zero. read more

This is one of the worst places that I've ever went to. I got a cleaning and a simple cleaning addy that and x-rays done and then the total work would have cost $1800. That amount was immediately deducted from my account. But I felt so uncomfortable in this place that 2 days later I cancel all of the work. They became very angry and they only will refund me only $900. The Dr. who called me is a woman named Jessica she's one of the dentist there. She's a horrible person I wish I would like to verify her credentials since I was lied to on so many levels. They really jerk people around. I don't know how you can be a doctor and and do what toy sho to people. I have to take off a day now to take them to small claims court to try to get my money back. AS soon as they found out how much money I had on my care credit account they came out with enough work that was the exact amount that was in my account. They wanted me to Max my care credit account, but I refused. Then they asked me to take out a loan and I refuse, and then they asked me to use my credit cards. Just places just horrible. I went to Universal Dentistry to have a cleaning. When I sat in the chair, the assistant asked me if they told me the price for cleaning was $160.00 and I confirmed it was. After they finished the cleaning they told me the charge was $271.00. I asked why they were charging me that much when I was quoted $160.00 and she said it was for evaluating. I asked what was evaluated for an extra $111.00 and she didn't give me a good reason as far as I was concerned and when I disagreed then she said they treated me as new patient because I haven't been there recently. I have been going to that office for the past 7 years and have a full dental plate and a partial plate made by them so I don't consider myself a new patient. I am a widowed senior citizen living on a small income. I think they were very unfair and I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

I went to universal dentistry because I lost a filling and wanted it replaced. After they x-rayed my entire mouth and got me in the dental chair. Then they told me that they do not have amalgam. They filled the tooth with a polymer type filling which they could not agree if it would hold up. They also said they would bill my insurance for me. (They don't take insurance). They didn't $244.00 later I am now looking for a real dentist to fix my mouth. They did give me an estimate of the repair work in my mouth over five thousand dollars. Today I had dental work that I put off for 20 years. My fear of the dentist caused me to allow myself infection after infection, with less and less confidence in my smile and ultimately myself. This last abscess reminded me that my health was suffering. The experience I had today made me regret only one thing: that I had put myself through years of suffering for nothing. The kindness of the staff today was so calming. Although I don't have final results yet because I am only 2 hours out of my appt, my review will not change. The teeth they made for me are beautiful. The extractions I just knew were going to take at least an hour took less than 2 minutes. I was comforted, reassured, and truly felt cared about. I've cried at the dentist many times. Whether it was fear or pain, I have cried. Today I cried too, only because I was so grateful and relieved because of the experience I had in that chair. If you are thinking about getting anything done, do it. Jump in. I'm someone with a severe dentist phobia and panic attacks happen every appointment I've ever had. Not this one. This time I left with a new smile and the utmost respect for the women who took the time to make sure I saw that I was their number one priority while I was there. This place is HORRIFIC. Had 2 bridges done. Dentist staff changed 3x while this was going on. Actually entire staff changes. I've never had same dental asst in the 2 years I've dealt with them. Last bridge they're working on, Dr takes temp off, starts poking around and completely destroyed one of the teeth holding bridge in. With that, I am crying in the chair. The temp can now not go back in. She informs me has to be pulled (2nd one!) and bridge has to be extended at a cost of $1,000. She says the tooth was decayed and destroyed, yet how was this not noticed when temp was put in 2x! I have no choice to finish the work because I'm already $2,000+ in. I just pray that this work holds up because it's over $4000-$5,000 total. They also sell you on very expensive work, do not be fooled by their "cheap prices" they advertise because they're lies. This is the absolute worst place you could possibly use to get any work done on your teeth. I paid $5500.00 up front for a bridge on 2 teeth. 2 1/2 years later i now have 7 teeth ruined, my mouth hurts all the time and they have changed dentists and office personnel 3 times to keep everyone guessing. One of their dentists (Dr. Tatel) told me the bridge should never have been done! I should have had implants like it was my fault I had this done. They put the bridge in wrong and pushed my front teeth out of alignment. Then said i needed root canal to correct the pain from the tooth that THEY moved!! If money, time, or self respect are a non-issue, then this is your place! You will never see the same dentist, as this is a dentist revolving door. Dr. Patel, whom I like very much, told me she was not leaving. Well, she left! Do not be fooled! They will show you your treatment plan, however you will beg for a copy. They say they are affordable, while pushing you on the telephone with a creditor. Their motto is sell, sell, sell! Once they have your money and some of the work is done, they will tell you that they do not have the correct facility to complete the work on the treatment plan. Be careful, they will fit and make and apparatus that you cannot use. They will tell you that the next dentist can use it. Don't be fooled! The next dentist wants to use their own product. How can they make something that is fitted for you, all the while knowing that they cannot do the work needed for this apparatus? Once they had your money, it is extremely hard to get it back. They will discourage you, every step of the way. Meanwhile, your dental work is not getting done because they have your money. If you used A creditor, you are paying interest on this money! I filled out the paperwork, for my refund. It has been over one year and the money is being refunded in dribs and drabs. This last $1200 has been a struggle. I was told it was sent in the mail. That is their famous quote. Well, it has been in the mail over three months, now. Amy says, I will give them a call and have them send it here, The Cherry Hill location. I will call you when it gets here. Don't be fooled! She never made the call and the $1200 is still not here. They change office managers as quickly as they change dentist.
