We desperately need a second Torchy's in Tyler because this one keeps dropping the ball. When they get it right, the food is great. But I'm getting really tired of them forgetting entire parts of my order or cancelling it like today. Tonight my order was cancelled because they didn't have any gas, however instead of turning off their mobile order notifications, they wait until it's the time it's supposed to be ready and I'm pulling in to call me and tell me that they couldn't make anything in my order, wouldn't even give me my pico de gallo (which is a cold, no gas required, food item). Yet when I went in to talk to the manager, overheard the staff telling other patrons that they would be able to get them a to-go side of queso (a hot, gas required, food item). Really unprofessional to deny someone the food they've already paid for while allowing other people to order food after the fact. Especially when the item I was wanting the most was a cold food item. So now I am out $25 for food tonight and won't get that money back until 4 days later, which doesn't help someone who is needing food now. Thanks Torchy's! read more

You all know I'm a Torchy's queso fan! The kick of hot does it for me every time I don't have to have their food but if I do I get the fajita chicken on flour or baja shrimp on corn. Four of us went to eat we ordered 2 Mexican Street corns, their version would kill the popularity in a very short time. Torchy's is an absolute must have. It's like a young Chick-Fil-A, and it's about to take over the country. I am biased being originally from the Austin area, but the quality/price ratio is hard to beat. I highly recommend ordering the queso and the Trailer Park taco(make it trashy!) I am definitely saddened by the replacement of the Main Root sodas with plain Jane Coca-Cola products, as they were a staple Torchy's product. Overall, the vibe in Torchy's is family friendly and very relaxed in every location (including the ones in Colorado that I visited). The Tyler Torchy's is one of the best locations outside of Austin, in my experience. If you like to consume food, I highly suggest giving your mouth an orgasm at Torchy's. So, this place has really good food, plain and simple. The point of this review is not the food though. My girlfriend and I ordered tacos and queso, but when we got home and opened the bag, there was only queso. We made our way back to the store for what we thought would be an awkward and unpleasant visit telling them they forgot our tacos, but the manager, or person in charge this particular night, (Nov. 1st) we extremely apologetic and pleasant, and gave us a few goodies for the inconvenience. We just had to go back and see if they could redeem themselves once again, and they did! My husband and I just returned Friday April 7, 2017. The cashier was friendly and helpful. Our food came out in a timely manner and just as we ordered it. No mistakes and extremely delicious. Our entire experience was on point. We had the chips and salsa and a few different tacos. I had the Democrat and it was superb! I also had the Baja Shrimp and it was very tasty! All the ingredients were fresh and spilling out a bit because they were not skimpy with the portions. My husband had the green chile pork and the Jamaican jerk chicken. Everything was just phenomenal and we will definitely return. So glad they got together after my last visit. I order the same "brushfire" taco every time I go and about 60% of the time I have to send my taco back because they do not finish the taco. (No sauce, no mangos, ect.) Trailer Trash is good. Worst service I have encountered in a Tyler restaurant. PERIOD. Food delivered cold and not corrected. Over one hour and still no food. Have plenty of time . One other thing, it appears to me that this place is "trying" to be too hip. I'll tell you what's hip and that is SERVICE. Clean the place up after diners leave and get the orders out in a reasonable amount of time. The "trucker's hats and beards" only take you so far. It was my first time to order food from this restaurant to get delivered to my work. In the past they screwed up my orders, so I was not going to do it, but my co-workers convinced me to give it another try. I picked The Wrangler thinking it has simple ingredients so it would be difficult to mess it up. I was wrong. It was disgusting. Reheated potatoes and a few very little pieces of some meat (it definitely didn't taste like smoked brisket) were hard and chewy. Scrambled eggs tasted like they were made from egg substitute. The last three times I've been here, they've just completely screwed up our order, or simply forgot to bring certain items to us. When you go back to the counter, they generally have a perplexed, or dumb look about them, and shrug their shoulders, as if it's the customer's fault. In addition to the fun you'll experience with the shitty service, or refusal to bring out your entire food / drink order, the quality has gone into the dumpster as well. Torchy's, you did not disappoint. We showed up with the whole kit and caboodle for our cousin's wedding weekend...we were able to push a few tables together and all make it work. We started with the green chile queso and chips. I could have eaten just this. Super creamy, just a hint of spicy chile at the end, and some surprise guac with cilantro. Literally would come back just for the queso itself. A few people in our group had the margaritas. Patron is their house tequila. What?! Um thank you, I'll have three. The republican (sausage, pico, cheese, and ranch) was a favorite taco by the men at the table. I enjoyed the shrimp taco with pickled onions and the sauce that came with it. No one at the table liked he corn tortillas. They fell apart quite easily...and just didn't taste right. The pork taco was also pretty dry. Bottom line: we will be back.
