There are not many Yakitori restaurants in the Ortigas area. You would still have to go to Makati for the "legit" yakitori bars. So, when I saw this place at Ayala 30th, I decided to try it out since it did look promising and ...I really needed a beer with meat-on-a-stick!
The set up is kind of intimate in that each table is blocked off in a cubicle style separate from other diners. I ordered the Cha Soba with a Yakitori Set Meal which included Butabara, Hasami, Uzura Tamago, Asparagus Bacon, Egg Rice, Miso Soup, and Ice Cream. The Cha Soba was a HUGE pile of noodles. The noodles were good but the dipping sauce was a tad bit salty for my taste. The meats-on-a-stick were well seasoned but lacked the burned/charred taste that I like when you barbecue meat. I felt like they could have left the sticks on the grill a bit longer.
Overall the food was good and tasty. Was my meat-on-a-stick craving satisfied? Not really. For the price I was paying, I think I needed 2-3 sticks more to make it a satisfying meal. But, if you very lazy to go to Makati, this is a good place to go for Sake and Beers. read more
