I have been disappointed by our experience with Toro. The showroom visit was nice, and we selected a very expensive marble for our bathroom counter. Toro came out and templated the counter then returned and installed it. Our counter has a bump out in the center that aligns with a tower on top of the counter. At first we thought it looked great, but after looking at it for a while something looked off. Long story short, the bump out in the center is not cut straight but slants about 5 degrees which amounts to about 3/16 of an inch off square over 3 1/2 inches. It's visible to the naked eye if you look at it and don't assume it's square. Putting a true square on it makes it very visible. When we brought it up, Toro said they needed to send someone out to look at it, but even before they saw it, they had a list of excuses as to why it wasn't their fault - the cabinets weren't square, standard building tolerances, the edge we selected, etc. My wife was present during the templating and no one ever mentioned any issues such as the cabinets not being square. It seems like this would be something of importance to point out. Needless to say, they came out, said it was off, and provided the same list of excuses as to why it wasn't their fault. They said they could try to fix it but it might look worse and it would only address one side, not the other. My disappointment stems from the lack of responsibility and the excuses. I was promised a call from the operations manager last week and have yet to hear back. So, I'd advise you go elsewhere if you expect quality, attention to detail, or even right angle corners. ------|______l------ correct - expected ------/______/------ installed - what Toro provided (at a 5% angle). They named themselves as the contractor on our permit without us contracting with them. After reaching out to the county for a copy of the application, I discovered that details were added to our form after my signature, without any notification to me. Not only was I surprised to see Northside Remodeling and Willie Middleton's name on the permit & application, I was extremely surprised to find my signature on a document I didn't fill out. This unexpected change left me feeling very uneasy, questioning the level of honesty with this business. The basement project itself was rife with issues - rough-in plumbing done incorrectly, window egress not installed to code, framing not complete or installed correctly. In Georgia, the licensed contractor on the permit is accountable and responsible for the work to be done to code. We have since had to hire a new contractor and pay additional money to fix these errors. It wasn't the smooth experience I hoped for, and I personally would want to find a company that emphasizes clear and upfront communication.

He kept me well informed throughout the process and always quickly responded to my questions and request. The men he works with are all very respectful, clean as they worked, and positive. I will continue to use Northside Remodeling on all my future projects. You will definitely not be disappointed if you decide to proceed with them.

The only thing they don't sell is fresh baked bread to go with that restaurant attire on their shelves. Honestly, you should refer to Alex H.'s review, as it is spot on. I am throwing in my two cents,…read morebecause this place deserves it. It is not fancy; nothing like your local Williams-Sonoma, Sur la Table, or Crate & Barrel. But you may find things that you can't at those places. I think my first time coming here was 4-5 years ago. I am an amateur home baker and cook and after reading through blogs and scouring different websites dedicated to food, I get ideas to make new dishes. Some of these require certain receptacles or tools that I don't readily have in my kitchen cabinets (which are brimming with stuff, because I have insufficient storage due to apartment living... wah, wah, wah). Restaurant Equipment Market (REM) has saved the day for me, especially on occasions when I could not stand to wait two days for Amazon Prime to deliver reasonably-priced kitchen goodies to my home. I have gotten cake pans, a meat tenderizer mallet, candy thermometer, an awesomely wide stainless prep bowl, and sweet bread knife from this place. Today I spotted pots and pans and cutting boards that will most likely end up in my kitchen at some point. Some of the things here are not very attractive, so if your aim is to buy kitchenware that combines form and function and you have the budget for it, by all means, go to the fancy places and acquire all that you need. This girl who is always looking for holes-in-the-wall will not shy away from getting more things to help me further my kitchen sorcery.

After spending 10's of thousands of dollars of what was meant to be our dream kitchen, all I ended up with was a sub-standard product made with the cheapest materials possible. And now my young family & I are left with our very own kitchen nightmare. Instead of fixing the problems, the owner uses excuse after excuse to blame everyone else. Now I am left with a kitchen with different color cabinets, drip stains, drawers not functioning correctly and cabinet doors that don't remain open. And what about the warranty you ask, well he refuses to cover any of the issues outlined. So the warranty is just as useless as the company is. Don't waste your time or money. I can only hope that others read this review and clearly understand what they are dealing with. I wish I had known ahead of time.
