Debbie showed me various ways to exercise my dog to strengthen her back legs. And she made it fun too. Like hills are our new best friend to walk up and down to strengthen while walking. She is super knowledgeable about muscles and bones and how they interact and how to best stretch them without going too far and hurting my dog. I feel like my dog has a few more good years in her now that I know what we can and cannot do. I'm spending more quality time with my dog, working on her muscles so that we both enjoy a great quality of life longer together. In May 2024, I took my dog to Kingston Road Animal Hospital seeking advice. Dr. Pusong recommended…read morean X-ray, blood test, and ultrasound. The diagnosis revealed that my dog had liver cancer, which caused difficulties in eliminating fluids from his body. Consequently, I requested fluid to be drained. We also discovered a tumor near his heart. Dr. Pusong prescribed a medication called Furosemide. Unfortunately, the medication was not effective. A month and a half later, I returned to the hospital to drain the fluid again. Dr. Pusong informed me that my dog needed another X-ray. When I questioned why, considering we had already paid over $1500 for an ultrasound and X-ray a month prior, he explained that he wasn't certain which organ was retaining fluid. I decided against another X-ray, as it seemed unnecessary. He took my dog into another room and later returned with a small tube containing about 3 ml of fluid, stating that because I refused the X-ray, he could only drain that limited amount. I ended up paying $390 for that visit. A week later, my dog had his first seizure. I rushed him to the emergency vet and requested that they drain the fluid again. I inquired if he needed X-rays, and the emergency vet informed me that there was no need for that since he had already undergone an ultrasound. I was taken aback by this revelation. The emergency vet advised me to stop the medication, as it was damaging my dog's kidneys--information that Dr. Pusong had not shared regarding the side effects. I returned to Kingston Road Animal Hospital to drain the fluid again, as I couldn't find another animal hospital at that moment. I had already booked with another vet, and make sure Dr. Pusong wasn't available that day, I allowed her to proceed without requesting another X-ray. This time, my dog was a pound lighter. I decided to go VCA Scarborough Animal Hospital, where the costs were reasonable--only $240--and they didn't charge me any visit fee since they knew I'd be coming back regularly. And never asked for any X-ray because they got all my dog's record from Kingston Animals hospital . I'm sharing this experience to let fellow dog lovers know that Dr. Pusong took advantage of our love and care for our pets. Initially, I thought I had found a good veterinarian because Dr. Pusong seemed friendly and explained things thoroughly. If I hadn't taken my dog to the emergency vet, I might not have realized that Dr. Pusong was attempting to take advantage of me financially during my dog's final months. My beloved dog passed away in February 2025, and I miss him dearly.
