Torrado Dental in Rochester, NY seemed like a good dental office when I first started going there. However, over time I began noticing things that I did not like. One example was during a dental cleaning appointment. The person who performed the cleaning did not seem to know what they were doing. I informed the office that I was not satisfied with the quality of the cleaning, and their response was not very professional or helpful. In October 2025, I had open-heart surgery. I had a dental cleaning appointment scheduled for February 2026, but when I arrived, I was told that they could not treat me until they received a medical clearance letter from my cardiologist. In March, I called the office and was told that my cardiologist had not responded, but that they would send another request. I waited until the end of May and called again. Once again, I was told that they would send another request to my cardiologist. However, during my cardiology appointment on June 9, my cardiologist informed me that Torrado Dental had never sent any request for medical clearance. This means the office was not truthful for four months when they repeatedly told me that they had contacted my cardiologist. If you are looking for a dental office that is professional, responsible, and honest, I would recommend staying away from Torrado Dental. read more

THIEF!! He removed sound bridges causing nasty infection. Said new bridges would fix my TMJ. After having 2 temporary bridges for 7 months, the new one's were put into my mouth only to find that they were exactly like the bridges he removed. He said that he decided that changing my bright would not help my tmj. I said to him "I wouldn't have agreed to spend $8000 on replacements that did nothing to help my jaw pain" Infection caused serious jawbone loss leading to me having emergency oral surgery and getting a bone graft. 7th district dental society Peer group found him not responsible for me being out of $8000, no bridges and no teeth. He lied and fudged the paperwork regarding my visits to his dental practice. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL PAPERS. He is a disgusting lying thief! Peer group had to ask him 3 times in a course of 4 months to submit all office records regarding me. This man should be in prison. I tried hiring an malpractice attorney and not one single office would take the case. He made a mistake and didn't own up to it! He destroyed my jawbone! It is 2am and i am in sheer pain after receiving a "small cavity" filling at dr torrados on a tooth that had no pain at all. I should have received a second opinion. Instead I became a victim to an evil practice. The pain started after the filling and has gone on for months. I feel how the enamel was shredded off after the young doctor spent a long time grinding on my teeth. I feel like a victim. read more

If you need dental implants for a tooth that is visible when you smile do not go here. I spent over a year and more than 25 different appointments and Dr. Torrado could not get it right. He decided he didn't have the skills to handle my case and dropped it without giving me a referral to someone who could help me. Many people in the office, including Dr. Torrado, do not properly wear masks. There was an entire staff changeover months ago and the new staff were swearing and complaining about it. The hygienists are great. However, do not get a crown here. After numerous visits he attempted 3 times to make a crown for my front tooth. Each one was the wrong color and round like a chicklet. My teeth are square and flat. This was the best he could do and I was not accepting this for a front tooth. I went to another dentist and in 2 visits now have the perfect crown and my smile back. read more

Let's just start off by saying how much I hate going to the dentist. I've actually put it off for awhile just to get a cleaning because I hate it that much. I've had some pretty bad experiences in the past, especially when I was younger(man I wish they had Yelp! then or .. wish I at least knew about it!) so of course I was a little hesitant... I made my first ever appointment and a few weeks later was in my way in ! Checking in at the receptionist desk was a breeze, after some paperwork I was already called back to the room! I was surprised to see a tv in the room, it gave the room a more relaxed feel, rather than a creepy ugly outdated dentist office. I was already feeling a lot better. The wonderful lady that did my cleaning was super nice, she really made my first impression that much more amazing. We talked, laughed, she listened to my concerns. It was a great time. Which was so weird for me to say about the dentist... I had to come back for some additional work a few weeks later. Again the same hatred, anxiousness and nervousness came over me. I walked in, again I had a pleasant check-in. I probably sat down for 5 minutes and was already headed back to the room! The procedure was quick and before you know it, I was on my way out. Dr Shumova is amazing. Highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a new dentist or just a dentist in general. read more

Never ever go to this Dr Sam Khalil. He is a fake and have no degree. He performs real bad. I went for a simple filling. After filling had real bad pain and went again to the Dr and he said I need adjustment. Did adjustment back and forth for 3 days in a week n half time. Every time he will say "Oh only hairline adjustment is left". The real Dr. will finish adjusting the tooth in one sitting. All this pain for for 3-4 weeks for no other reason that the Dr was not a real one. Very unprofessional staff. They don't even know how to talk. And yes we are "Customers" for them not "patients" that's what the nurse told me. I wish I would have read the reviews first before going. I have been to one different dentist where I used to live before and he was great!. Dr. Khalil is a fake Dr. He should be charged by the Law to write "DR". He is also deleting my reviews. I went to see Dr. Sam Khalil because one of my top back molars (r2) had a severe cavity and had split into 3 pieces. I tried to explain to him that I have a fear of the dentist. He laughed and said so does everyone else. I said "No, I have a SERIOUS fear of the dentist." My fear is not like everyone else's because I've had very bad experiences in the past, but he did not give me the chance to explain my fear. I asked him if it were possible to be "knocked out". He then proceeded to tell me that I've had so many fillings done before, how was this any different? And then asked me if I was "just looking to get high." I was shocked, started crying, and was too aghast to even defend myself. I have child, who had just had his very first cleaning right before my appointment and he was sitting in the waiting room, waiting for me, and all I could think to myself was, "I love that little boy more than my own life, why would I want that? Why would this "doctor" even THINK I would want that?" I did NOT mean that I wanted "the laughing gas" or pills or anything like that. I wanted something like general anesthesia, or something to make me SLEEP (NOT HIGH!) so I would be completely unaware of what was going on. I DID NOT WANT to "get high". This happened to me about 4 years ago. I have not been to the dentist since because now I am afraid that every single dentist will think I am some kind of junkie because of the torture they put you through, even when they just cleaning your teeth. My fear of the dentist has become so overwhelming because of this man, I refuse to go. So, thanks a lot "Doctor" Khalil. You've officially ruined my teeth, my smile and my life. read more

I am still spending thousands to repair the "cosmetic work" this dentist performed on my mouth more than 12 years ago. I went in asking him to replace 3 lower crowns (which fit very well, there was only a slight color mismatch). He talked me into having 7 teeth in my lower jaw crowned (needlessly). The crowns were so bulky and ill-fitting that I was literally unable to close my mouth and the crowns were pushing my front upper teeth out. A year and a half after this dental debacle, I had to have my jaw reprogrammed, the ill-fitting crowns ground down and I had to wear a full set of braces for over 2.5 years. My bite was never right but I could not afford to have the ill-fitting lower crowns replaced. Recently one of the front lower crowns he placed fell out. The tooth underneath had completely decayed. I suspect the adjacent teeth are also decayed as the crowns were not placed nor sealed properly. I am looking at at least one implant and 4 new crowns in my lower jaw, to the tune of over $11,000. By the time I am finished it will have cost me over $17,000 (maybe more) to repair this dentists extremely incompetent work. AVOID!!!!! read more

I would like to start off by saying that Dr Torrado may be one of the nicest dentists that ever I ever meant. I meant him while he worked at Q Dental and inquired about dental veneers. Because Dr Torrado was so nice, I trusted him and had him give me two veneers, which are on the front right side of my mouth. I was very specific about how I wanted them to look and Dr Torrado assured me that I didn't need to worry. He then began the process by grinding my teeth, which I know is normal. However, I had to wait at least a week to actually have my Veneers in place. I was forced to walk around with two teeth, which were very visible and grounded down to sharp fangs. Once he put the veneers in place, there was a very noticeable gap between the two veneers, that looked and still looks, like I have a huge piece of pepper in my teeth. Dr Torrado assured me that my gums would grow in, which it never happened. Within my first year of receiving the veneers, they popped off twice, and once before a wedding! When I returned to Dr Torrado and told him l was unhappy with the veneers and the large gap, Dr Torrado told me that the gap was healthy and that no food would get stuck. He was correct, no food gets stuck, because it falls through the huge gap and people often alert me that I have pepper in my teeth. read more
