I just finished my 2nd project with System Pavers, and again I am so happy with the results. This time they did my entire backyard, and it is gorgeous. System Pavers are problem solvers: fixing erosion, drainage, slope, and awkward step height were all drawn into the plan, and it turned out exactly as described. Rafael managed the construction of the plan David H. drew, and it is just lovely. It had been an overgrown mess. Now I can use my yard without fear of falling and I can garden without feeling overwhelmed. You should let SP help you with your frustrating yard problems--they will find a solution and it will be beautiful. Our paver patio build journey started back in October with another company from Thumbtack, which resulted in an utterly disastrous and unusable final product. We spent the next several weeks ripping out and hauling off their mistakes, while trying to find a more reputable company to basically build back up from scratch. After half a dozen more calls, visits, and quotes later, System Pavers came into the picture with a vision that was utmost appealing to us. System Pavers sent out a sales consultant for the initial meet up, as usual. His quote was the 2nd highest we received from the lot, which was beyond our comfort level, but we ultimately decided to bite the bullet and hire them, because of their 25 year warranty and the fact that they are a nationally recognized company. We've already sunk in a considerable amount of time and money into this project, so it was vital to us that there would be absolutely no mistakes the second time around. With System Pavers being the most reputable company that we could find, our choice in hiring them was a no-brainer. At the time of writing this review, System Pavers hasn't started the build yet. The project fell into a limbo due to a miscalculation made by the sales consultant, which would require a major change to the plans and significantly raising the cost of the build. Despite of this issue, I'm actually writing this to commend Rafael, our project manager, and his efforts in correcting this issue. He was able to negotiate the best possible outcome on our behalf with the sales team, essentially rendering the miscalculation a nonissue. All in all, I would highly recommend hiring System Pavers to anyone for any paver project needs. After multiple attempts to redo our backyard patio with different people and contractors and running into issue after issue, we finally decided to call System Pavers to see if they could bring the patio we originally envisioned when we purchased our home to life. After our past experiences, we were nervous, but we chose to move forward... and I truly wish we had called them so much sooner. They were absolutely incredible from start to finish. Our Design Consultant, Chris, was phenomenal. We told him our vision, and he walked us through every step with patience and clarity. He helped design the project and never once made us feel pressured or rushed. Our Project Manager, Reese, was AMAZING. He listened to all of our concerns and fears, especially after the problems we'd had with previous contractors. He reassured us that we were in good hands and he meant it. He never missed a call, always checked in, and made sure everything was taken care of. His crew was just as impressive. Once the project was finished, you wouldn't have even known they were ever there, except for the fact that we finally had the patio of our dreams. System Pavers exceeded every expectation. Their warranty is outstanding, and while nothing in life is perfect, I have no doubt that if anything ever comes up, they will stand by it. But right now? It's pretty dang perfect. I've had an excellent experience with System Pavers so far. I didn't have much knowledge about pavers, but I knew that I couldn't down the route of replacing our wood deck with wood once again or with composite. Ando from System Pavers came out to the house and talked me through the product offerings and the design possibilities, and came back with a visual representation and a quote. After that, we went back and forth quite a bit while we played out different aesthetic possibilities. He was always responsive and friendly. Next we were handed off to Rafael, who continued the pattern of excellent customer service. He walked me through the project and what our needs would be to ensure a great design with adequate drainage that fit into the limitations of our space. Rafael was incredibly responsive, explained things to me thoroughly - it felt like he was looking out for my best interest. I had been looking to replace a 60 year old driveway that was very cracked. Saw a post on instagram that System Pavers was running a promo that would haul off my old driveway which I knew was a large chunk of what the cost would be. I emailed for an appointment and Mike came out the next day. He explained the process and pricing which was in the range I expected, so I paid to get in line. They started about a week later (which was pretty exciting). I dealt with three guys during the process, all of whom had stellar communications. I was texted or called at every step and was shown what was going on. This was all good. Now here is the great part... ANYBODY who has done any kind of home project knows that you are possibly sharing space with different subs or either sloppy workmanship or a giant mess around your house. There was NONE of this. There weren't errant cigarette butts or Whataburger bags strewn around. All of the tools and materials were neat at the end of the day. The end of the job was the most amazing part. The area around the driveway was almost like nothing had happened. There was maybe a dirt clod or two near the edges and yes there was dust BUT do you know what it would look like if I had done concrete? The quality of work and laborers were completely pro. System pavers transformed our backyard. For 24 years, when we looked out the back door we'd see our home's 1968 cement patio. Cracked, discolored, old. We were worried the pavers would not go well with the house's brick, but were surprised by the huge number of choices System Paver showed us. Robert, the manager and designer, came up with a very attractive and practical way of covering ground that grass has never grown on. He and Rafael, the construction manager, were meticulous about drainage. We had always struggled with standing water and mosquitoes, but they created a system that drains completely regardless of how much rain we get. Every person who worked here was hardworking, respectful and positive - from the managers to the crew who gave 100% digging, putting in pipes and pavers.... I recommend System Pavers. We had some self inflicted project cost creep as we extended the scope of the project beyond the initial design. In inspections Rafael and his colleague were quick to point out imperfections they wanted to fix. It took several tries to get everything perfect but overall we are very happy with the results. Not sure why this firm is getting such good ratings... System Pavers was one of several firms I contacted for some landscaping/hardscaping. Most were local - where I definitely had better luck - but I wanted to make sure I was touching all the options. Here was my experience and why I ultimately went with someone else. Scheduling wasn't too hard and the rep showed up on time. I noticed he brought a bag which had several binders and was kind of curious about that. Never seen that before in a hardscape guy. The meeting starts with the sales guy informing me they're the biggest provider in the nation which is what their prices are so good. Not sure if they are the biggest but their ego seemed to be. I described what I wanted in detail as he listened and made a few minor notes. What was odd is that everyone else I talked to had a conversation with me. For example, 'you want it like this?' or, 'you mean going in that direction?' as in they were actually listening. Not Mr Paver. When I was done, the first thing he told me was that I couldn't do it the way I wanted and would have to end up doing a large section of impervious cover using (guess what?) system pavers. No discussion on option or alternatives. Since I was green before it was cool I was not interested in this option at all but but no discussion could get him off of this. We then got into pricing and even though I'd already determined they weren't a fit I was curious about cost. We then played a long game of 'what do you think it will cost?' 'if you sign today I may get a break' or 'let me check this deal with my boss.' Honestly, felt like I was buying a used car. I declined all the options around pricing and ignored the follow-up emails and was very happy with another vendor I chose. As I said, I am not sure if System Pavers is the biggest or not, but, based on my experience I would not recommend them. Not only did the rep not really listen, but the majority of the time was spent convincing me to do a deal "now." For the record, theirs was the highest estimate I received even though the opening line was. "we can't do what you want." Enough said. read more

Tl;dr: This company lied to us to get us to sign the contract, damaged our property and took weeks to repair it, insulted my 71 year old mother to her face, and told us that doing the job to code would cost more than our contract allotted for. We used this company to build out a big patio in our backyard, so that we could put in a hot tub, and have our grill further from the door. They were well reviewed, and the project manager seemed very personable. The job was estimated to take about a week. It took more than 4 months. The job involved digging out an area, lining it with sand, putting in stones, and putting sand between the stones. Also, they needed to run a pipe under the patio for the electrical cord for the hot tub. Before we signed the contract, we were told that they would come out and replace the sand for free as it wore out, for up to 20 years. And also, that he would throw in polymeric sand to go in between the stones. In short, polymeric sand is "the good stuff" that binds together better than regular sand. So we signed the contract. The work crew and the project manager had communication problems right away. The project manager said it was his first time working with this work crew, but the work crew said this manager screwed up communication on every project they'd worked on, so we were getting lied to by someone. After the patio was in place, we noticed they didn't have the pipe running under the patio like we asked. This angered the work crew, who apparently hadn't heard about this, even though it was on the contract and diagram. So instead of burying it under the porch, they dug a 3 inch deep trench all the way around the backyard instead. In the process of laying the stones, they cracked our sprinkler system, which we discovered when we ran the sprinklers and had a geyser. So in the middle of a Texas summer, we turned off the sprinkler for a week, waiting for them to come fix it, watering all our plants and grass by hand. After the spent 5 minutes fixing that, we found another geyser, another crack they had caused...but they didn't want to come back to fix that until we begged for three weeks. 3 more weeks of hand watering during a Texas summer. Despite our best efforts, many plants died. When he finally did show up, he didn't tell us he was coming, and my 71 year old mother discovered him working in the backyard by accident, and working nowhere near where the crack was. She tried to tell him where the crack was, and he set everything down to get in her face and tell her that she "wasn't nice." No idea where that came from. They had put in a drain, but it wasn't near where the water actually pooled up on the new patio, but we couldn't get a response from them for months. During that time another yard guy came along to work on other things, and noticed that we had the wrong kind of sand on our patio, it wasn't the polymeric sand we were promised. And the pipe they had barely put in the ground had actually come back up on one patch. That's when we also learned that for a pipe carrying an electrical cord, it wasn't deep enough, it wasn't to code, and would need to be redone. More than a month went by with no word from them. Then we were contacted by a new person who said that our project manager was fired, and he was going to finish the job. He wouldn't give us the polymeric sand we were promised, because it wasn't in the contract, and that would be an upcharge. So I will be resanding the patio myself. He also said that we were lied to about them resanding the patio for free, that would also be a fee anytime they did it. I asked them to fix the drain, which they eventually did, and to rebury the pipe, which they refused to do. I ended up having to talk to the Project Manager's boss, who told us that burying the pipe to code would cost more, and wasn't in the original contract. We had only requested that they run a pipe under the patio, which they agreed to, apparently we ALSO had to specify that we wanted it done to code. I asked him why they would agree to do work not to code, and I was told that was why they had fired the project manager. They feel very strongly that firing the project manager forgives their company for lying to us, insulting us, and not finishing the job, when I'll have to resand the patio myself, and we'll have to pay another company to rebury the pipe to code. No consideration, no attempt to make things right, no attempt to even meet us halfway on anything. We were lied to in order to get us to sign the contract, after that, we were just suckers that they would do the absolute bare minimum for. At one point, before the drain was fixed, which was the one thing they agreed to do, the new project manager was repeatedly badgering my mother to sign a paper saying that the job was done and we were happy, even though it wasn't, and we weren't. I can't help but feel like he wouldn't have tried this if I had been in town, but saw my elderly mother as easy pickings. read more

The two projects we contracted were well executed and thanks to the administrator Kayla, scheduling was a breeze and completion of the project was timely. Luke and Cole were our Design Consultant and Construction Supervisor respectively. Just so easy to work with and you can tell instantly that they know their stuff. Cole was able to help me make decisions "on the fly" over a couple of obstacles which arose during the construction phase which resulted in the sweet little wall you see in some of the photos. The extra work was done at no cost to us. I think this is what sets this company above the others on the design/construction sell. It's clear these are folks are pros. Manuel was the site supervisor for our project and is 100% customer focused. He and his crew definitely went above and beyond in terms of job focus and task completion.
