CHAMPAGNE. LIPSTICK. ROCK & ROLL. I recently purchased this t-shirt at Torrid and spent only $9. $9! They have a points-based program (no idea how it works, but I guess I had a few), and there are sales constantly... My favorite is the jeans sale. Try on a pair of jeans and get $5 off ANY purchase. YES, that's all you have to do! If you purchase the jeans, you get $10 off. Most of the time, it's Buy 1, Get 1 50% off from the clearance section. I never find much from there since the smaller sizes are pretty picked over. Prices are in line with other mall stores like Lane Bryant. Torrid is one of those stores I visit semi-regularly but wonder, "Am I too old to shop here?" However, everything here is quite stylish and they have a great variety of skirts, dress pants, blazers, and dresses. I LOVE their dresses. In my opinion, the styles are aimed at women 16-25, and plus size (obviously). I'm pushing 30, so sometimes I question whether or not I really need ANOTHER graphic t-shirt or if some of the more cartoon-y things are age-appropriate. I like that their smallest size isn't technically a plus size (12). I dance a fine line between the largest size on the regular racks, and the smallest size on the plus racks. Torrid sizes their clothing differently though. Starting at Size 0 and ending at Size 4. I'm not sure what the logic is behind the sizing, since women's clothing sizes are already trivial numbers dubbed vanity sizing, but whatever. Basically, Torrid sells a curvy size 12 up to a size 28. Try stuff on, and you will figure it out! Also worth noting: their shoes are wide-width, and their bracelets and rings are bigger. None of this helps me at all, but I know some gals who fret over the lack of wide width shoes elsewhere. Anyway, I like the Fox Valley location because the employees are mostly enthusiastic and genuinely friendly. They are always willing to bring you another size in the fitting room and are informative about their sales. I always feel comfortable and welcome here. read more

I worked for torrid at this particular location. It was an absolute nightmare to say the least. Do you ever notice how quickly they seem to go through employees? There is a reason for that. The managers are bullies. I reported harassment to my store manager on several occasions and nothing was done about it. There were instances of another co-worker using the n word and nothing was done about it. I can promise you that they are not there to help. They will complain about you and mock you the second you leave the store. Edith, Kari and Pelnice should be held accountable, and Edith and Kari in particular should be fired for creating and maintaining such a hostile work environment. I left at the same time as 4 other employees and I am so glad that I did. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Protect your energy. read more

I have good experiences here 4 out of 5 times I go in. Most of the time, there will be at least one helpful employee who will not only listen to what I'm looking for, but make suggestions and pull stuff out to show me. This location does have a great selection, most of the time. But they lose a star for that 1 in 5 that no one wants to care about customer service. And they lose a star because it is VERY difficult to maneuver in such a cramped store in a wheelchair, let alone the mall's motorized cart. Forget about looking through the clearance section or getting to the fitting rooms without moving racks around. I would spend more money here if it was more handicap accessible. read more

I'm so very glad they opened this store nearer to where I live. It's sometimes a hassle for me to go to the Yorktown one. This particular store seems a little better stocked to me, especially because I was able to buy as many of my favorite v-neck tank tops as I wanted. They have a great selection for younger girls, particularly for goth lolitas or clubbers, though some of the wardrobe basics are what draw me. The ladies are very nice and helpful. read more

I love the clothes here. But I really keep coming back because of the service. The salespeople here are the nicest by far, they always welcome you in warmly--and then help you shop!! I just love the experience of going to Torrid, I always feel like such a rockstar. read more

First time going in here, and can I just say that this is the best shop ever, mostly because of their staff? Like, seriously. She was on top the whole time. She was friendly (I think her name was Stephanie, I'm not sure though. Neuqua '08 grad though, if that helps) Anyways, she greeted me, got me a dressing room, was so patient with me, my mom, and my friend, and most importantly, didn't pressure me to buy anything. She struck up conversation, picked out different sizes and was generally a great help. I've never experienced customer service like that before! Definitely going back because of today! read more

I just want to say that I had an amazing experience on Saturday April 11, 2015. I was in the store and not to sure what to buy for my boyfriend's niece's christening. I asked Jenny for help and she brought me to her favorites and since she was the same size and body type as me she showed me what looks good and what doesn't. She was amazing and personable to work with. She definitely had an amazing quality of customer service to her. She definitely helped me out with the christening. I like this store and even have a credit card for them. I love that they have tall jeans. My only thing stopping me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that EVERYTHING is over priced. I mean, you can't buy a plain shirt in here for less than $30 bucks. The same plain shirts from Old Navy and Walmart for $5-$10. Anyway, the workers are nice, the clothes are trendy. You will enjoy im sure of it. If you are looking for something plain try to go elsewhere and save some money because it can get pricey. read more

The 2 stars go to the girl that actually helped me. As for the one that did the exchange of my swimsuit, I need to talk to HER boss. Ellie was her name and on top of looking pretty ratchet, she had an awful personality. She had looked at the price of the swim top and said, "Wow, you spent this much on this?" I looked around to see if I was being pranked, I mean why would someone say that about their own store, right? So I told her, "Well, I sure didn't buy that at Walmart!" You get what you pay for. I loved the swimsuits and spent a lot of money on 3 of them. What's really sad is that a lot of us plus size women are self conscious of how we look, me being one of them, and then you have a nasty character making you feel bad because of how much you paid for feeling confident in swim suits on top of it! I know people have bad days but this person clearly has no business doing retail, you deal with customers. I am in customer service and give people the courtesy they deserve and try to brighten their day if they looked burnt out, but this lady was not deserving of it. She had started out our transaction on a sour note and it went downhill from there. Calling her manager tomorrow. It's unfortunate, but I want to continue coming here but will not go if she is there. read more

Nice store with great employees! I hate shopping,but this location makes me hate shopping a little less.I was there for probably an hour trying on everything.The lady(Karissa?) Was extremely helpful with helping me dress for my body type,she even found me some jeggins in the back that had not been put out yet.Torrid as a whole I'd overpriced,if the prices were cheaper I would give it 5 stars...that has nothing to do with this location,just the franchise as a whole.Great place to shop if you have curves,they have something for everyone. read more
