Located directly across the street from the Royal Sands. They accept US cash and even have an English menu with prices in dollars, so no reason not to venture out of the resort at least once. Their tortas are served on a baguette which is different. Couple good hot sauces to choose from, recommend trying the steak. read more

Great lunch spot a short walk from our hotel. We had the asado and chicken tortas. They were so delicious. We enjoyed with a cold bucket of coronitas on the upper deck area overlooking the lagoon. Probably one of the most affordable, authentic and delicious lunches you can have in the hotel zone. read more

If you are looking for delicious and authentic mexican food, I highly recommend this place. Note that they only accept cash. My family of three (with one 16 year old teen) ordered the grilled meat plate that came with grilled steak, chicken, pork chop, chorizo, longaniza, queso fundido (melted gooey cheese!) and grilled onions. It come with tortillas, avocados, tortilla chips, black beans, and limes all for about $16.30 USD. Meats were very flavorful, juicy, and cooked just right! It was plenty of food for the three of us. Not only was the food delicious but the owner and servers are supper friendly and attentive. There are two options for seating, upper deck and the dock, both with views of the lagoon. Had a great late lunch here thanks to these yelp reviews. There is parking right out front if you are driving. I don't know how to describe this food other than delicious. There is something for everyone whether you want some authentic Mexican food or a burger. The habanero hot sauce was "hot" as warned but delicious. Tortas Brava is our go to place for breakfast and lunch. For 30-60 pesos for a huge portion of quesadillas, torta, burrito, tacos, etc... You can feed a family of 4 for the price of a single entree at a Hotel Zone restaurant. I have not found a dish I did not like. They all tastes good, but my favorite are the arrechera torta and the bistec quesadillas. I always ask about the Agua Fresca flavor of the day. I have had tamarind, horchata (rice), avena (oatmeal), and guava. All yummy and for $25 pesos. Clean, flavorful, authentic, cheap, many choices, great ambiance, nice service people. It's perfect. Been here every year for 5 years now and it's right across from The Royal Sands, so super convenient since all inclusive is not required from Royal Sands owners, and eating out here is perfect any, except they are closed on Sunday's I think. Also closed after 4pm. read more

We ordered 2 Tortas (Mexican sandwiches ) and 2 cokes for around $10! It's not much to look at and the seating is upstairs but the food was authentic and delicious. I noticed a lot of the customers were locals that drove their boats to the attached marina and stopped their for lunch. Everyone is super friendly and the food is delicious ! Food is delicious and costumer service on point! After being in Cancún for a week and trying many restaurants, we found the reviews and decided to give Torta Brava a try. We were so happy we did! The food was inexpensive and delicious. There were items, like a cheese quesadilla, that satisfied the youngest in our group (10) and their delicious tortas, which were yummy and plenty to fill up the adults in our group. We took our food to-go, and it was packaged well and easy to carry. The staff was friendly and helpful, giving us lots of ketchup when asked. Once we had walked over and ordered the meals, we enjoyed the view from the upstairs balcony for about 15-20 minutes while the food was prepared. If you're in the Hotel Zone, Torta Brava is a place you don't want to miss! read more

This place is off the hook found it on day 2 of our vacation and kept going back every day since, the food is so good everything from there breakfast, hot dogs, steak nachos, tortas and there view is so nice. One of the employees, of course, tried to upsell us on tours that they do "cheaper than Thomas Moore!", which was annoying when eating, which is why I dropped to a 4/5. But a positive, as someone who is a spice junky, they had a "Mexican mayonnaise" in a bottle which was made of mayo, Serrano and habanero... really good spice and delicious addition! This place is unbelievably good and cheap -you'll be sad you have been eating resort food once you come here!!! I was obsessed with the chicken tacos (3 tacos with a side of beans for about 70 pesos). The habanero sauce (I think it's mayo?) is delicious and everything is fresh. The view from upstairs is gorgeous and breezy, which allows for a much needed break from the Cancun heat. I came here almost everyday after I finally tried it! The chefs and the waiter were extremely nice and the service was quick. If you want real Mexican food (as real as it gets in the hotel zone), definitely come here! read more

Was here yesterday for a late lunch. Our food was great, but we really loved the guacamole! It had lots of fresh tomatoes, cilantro, and lime juice. Loved the spicy habeñero creamy salsa as well. We wanted to come back for dinner, but it closes at 5pm. 2 orders of tacos, guacamole, 2 beers $12 US. Can't beat those prices! read more
