After living in AZ for 29 years I have finally discovered one of the best Mexican restaurants in Arizona! A friend of mine and me were exploring the area and he suggested that we have lunch there. My choice was the Chile relleno, flour taco with ground beef and a cheese enchilada and accompanied by rice and refried beans. The Chile relleno was cooked perfectly, along with everything else. This place has a nice variety on their menu, they seem to have something for everyone. They are both a breakfast and Mexican restaurant, I read breakfast is served all day. The place is clean and the staff is pleasant and efficient. Pricing is fair and then some. We enjoyed everything they brought us and felt every item was made to our liking. She was able to do a late breakfast and I opted for lunch. They make their tortillas fresh and they are sold with a wide selection of pastries in bakery on the side. They serve both flour and corn tortilla chips which isn't that common unfortunately. They had a continuous stream of diners at noon on a Saturday and they were moving plenty of to go orders. My friend and I went out to eat here, but my family and I have been also a few times... I think they really shine with breakfast, but this visit we enjoyed Mexican food! The very large table next to us enjoyed burgers! Food is ALWAYS RELIABLY good! The restaurant stays REALLY BUSY, so my first tip is to call ahead for a pickup order if you're pressed for time. Lots of pickup orders going constantly. If you do have time to sit down and enjoy they have nice little seating area outside where you can take in the dynamic view!! Kid friendly little round bench seating outside. They have beautiful art inside for sale that really brightens up the atmosphere! Food tip - ask for an extra "hot" tamale - temperature wise, because who doesn't LOVE a HOT TAMALE ?? Enchilada was EXTRA Savory!! The folded taco was quite addicting so next time I'll go for the taco plate! Staff is very friendly with nice smiles and you can feel the LOVE Vibes in a small town setting. Stopped for breakfast on a Sunday drive. We got there before 9:00 which was good because the place soon filled up. The breakfast was outstanding and traditional SW Mexican. Had the Sonoran Enchiladas breakfast. The best red sauce I've had so far in AZ....close to NM red sauce...close. Service was good and everything was made fresh. Nice place to stop and recharge. The restaurant is clean and well-appointed. The service was painfully slow, and we could see a lot of frustrated customers. Once we got a food order in, it came pretty quick. The steak fajitas were good. The refried beans lacked flavor and texture. My wife's taco salad was pretty small but tasty. Was passing thru as I'm sure is the case with most in this tiny town. Saw that it was open and thought I'd give it a try. I can only speak for my taste and palate, this was one of the most delicious breakfast I've had in a long time. What impressed me the most second to the food was the wait staff. I began by ordering the enchilada breakfast. I clarified if it was corn tortillas. I was told they were Gordita style which I really don't care for, (glad I asked). I told her how I preferred them, which is New Mexico style with the eggs on top. Often times when you ask or mention a different way, I find your often told, something like, that's not how we do it. Not here. I explained that New Mexico style is layered corn tortillas, usually two with ground beef red chili and two eggs on top. She said "we can do that". How refreshing. I've had this style of breakfast enchiladas since I was a child. This breakfast brought back memories of my mom and her breakfast. I will definitely make this a stop in the future. read more

I've wanted to stop here for years, and today it finally happened. Lunch started with a bowl of chips. The extra-brown chips on top are made from their tortillas and are really special! I decided to order enchiladas (chicken) because I figured it would allow me to enjoy the homemade tortillas. So glad I did! The dish is REALLY colorful (see photo below), the tortillas were perfect, and the enchilada sauce was rich and spicy. What a lunch. I am going to have to make a special effort to stop here every time I drive by, even if the parking lot is filled with motorcycles which it often is. read more

Mi Pueblito is a hidden gem in Arizona! After a long cold motorcycle ride, it was a great pit stop to warm up. The pozole was authentic and delicious! One of the fun things about segment hiking the Arizona Trail in bits and pieces is knowing you will be coming back to delicious places like Mi Pueblito's Mexican/American Restaurant and Tortilla Factory located in Mammoth, Arizona! Karolien and Bryce enjoyed a marinated and grilled chicken, bacon and guacamole cheese sandwich while Ben and I jumped all over the Carne Asada burro with rice and beans. Bianka had a giant bean burrito with some of mom's French fries before the family hiked a small portion of the Arizona Trail Passage 14: The Black Hills, which was accessible north of Mammoth, via the Gapgage Wash backroad. After our hike we stopped quickly back in (before they closed at 8PM on a Saturday night) to use their spotless restrooms and left with a twelve pack of freshly made giant tortillas and for desert enjoyed trying the tasty apple empanadas... a yummy way to cap a super fun outing! read more

The best thing I can say is that the place was clean and the beer was cold. I should have been tipped off by the chips and salsa.... they were flour chips but the salsa was just okay. The $11.99 carne asada (maybe) burrito was overcooked and bland. There was a tablespoon of unmelted cheese at one end and a dollop of guacamole at the other end of a cold burrito. I ordered a chicken tostada and the corn tortilla was cooked in old oil, the chicken was dry and there was maybe a tablespoon of refried beans but the lettuce and tomato's were fresh. If you're going thru Mammoth do yourself a favor and just keep driving right by this place. If you do take a chance and eat here then bring your own silverware because we had to ask for it. read more

How is it I never posted a review for this AWESOME restaurant, including the attached tortillas shop/bakery. We've been eating here for a few years. Why is it so great, cause everything we've ever tried has been tasty. Tacos, enchiladas, carne asada, red chili, etc, etc!! Plus I judge mexican restaurants by their beans and rice, Mi Pueblito compares to my grandmother's. That's quite the compliment. (And they don't drown the food in cheese.) The staff is great, friendly and very accommodating. Making the place a definite 5 stars in all categories. It's become our regular stop whenever we find ourselves taking highway 77. Our first visit was out of curiosity, must say we've never been disappointed. I'm partial to the enchiladas with red sauce though other menu items are just as delicious. A great perk, the tortillas and bread come fresh from the bakery. Yum yum. We always leave with a box filled with Mexican pastries (conchitos, empanadas, wedding cookies, small bags of sugar/cinnamon chips) and a couple packages of those delicious tortillas. Someday I'll try a hamburger (I hear they are good) but those enchiladas just keep calling my name. They also have a small ice cream shop which I need to check out. read more

So...the food was good. What we got of it. Only 2 people out of our party of 4 ate after waiting an hour and finally gave up.. No part of the 2 orders was correct though - I ordered a tamale and got an enchilada. They didn't tell us they were out of one item until waiting about 45 min. Then, no other food ever arrived after one friend chose a hot dog which should have been brought out almost immediately because it's a hot dog. The server was nice but flustered and clueless. No management ever appeared to apologize. And what little was served somehow came to $40. Good guacamole. Will never return. read more

Stopped in for lunch on the way home from a hike in Aravaipa Canyon. This place is near the Arizona Trail, as well as a lot of other amazing outdoor adventure locations - so it's a perfect place to grab a (giant) burrito to fuel your fun! Service was quick, place is spotless clean and the food is delicious. Did I mention the burritos were huge? They have their own tortilleria/panaderia (bake shop) on the premises so the tortillas were first rate and fresh. Working at a job site nearby, I've had the pleasure of eating at Mi Pueblito for breakfast and lunch. The foods great but their tortillas are amazing. Every time I'm headed back to California I pick up 4-5 large packs and 4-5 small packs of tortillas. My kids love them. I freeze the packages but they are typically gone with a week or so. You can't find good tortillas like this in any store. read more

On my way to Casa Grande I always get tortillas here. In the past they have been the best in AZ. BUT..... for the second time in a couple of months the flour tortillas I got were smaller thicker chewy, full of folds and holes. Here's the problem at this restaurant. What do you want to eat? I have NEVER had anything bad or even so-so there! In my opinion you want the best hamburger ever? They have it. And they offer all kinds of wonderful toppings too. Want cheese enchiladas? Oh my how yummy these are. Even the enchilada sauce is home made and you sure can taste it too. The chicken salad is super if you're looking for something lighter, but it's oh so tasty. Now for my personal weakness. Cookies. Cookies made right there, and I haven't had a bad one yet. So many choices, and all of them so good. It's even going to get better, they are putting in an Ice Cream shop. Now I'm going to have to pick up homemade ice cream too. I can't wait! The staff has always been friendly and professional. It's like going to a friends house and having a great meal. This place is worth the drive. It will surprise you beyond belief. The food is home made meaning no can sauce. You can taste the freshness in all the food. Not only are they a restaurant but they have thier own tortilla/bake shop and they sell meet and cheese by the pound. They might be cheep in price's but that is it, everything else is 5 stars. My bill had 3 meal's, 2doz fresh tortilla's, a dozen cookies and 3 pasteries (torts and baked goods were togo) and it was only $45.
