Ridgway was able to get our pup in for surgery that day, and also kept him there comfortably while we left to pack and handle the logistics of the attack. For such a tough situation, they were an absolute BLESSING and beyond helpful. We feel extremely fortunate to have been referred to Golden Heart Canine (GHC) to work with our…read moredogs on behavioral training. Our decision to board and train our 10 and three year-old pups for 30 days was a choice we took quite seriously. Meeting Becca, vistiting the facilities, and learning about her background and training techniques, led us to trust and commit 100% to the program. Our pups were introduced and taught commands to leave it, wait, heel, down, release/free, bed, and recall. WE also learned a ton and that it's okay for us to spoil them, but they need strict follow through with their obedience. The difference in their behavior is quite impressive and exciting. Now it's up to us, as the lead pack members, to practice every day and continue to instill all the lessons and hard work that occured during the 30 days (and those extra six that we decided were best for Hawk to earn his graduation)! With all that said, and most importantly, thank you Becca, and ALL the staff at GHC, from the bottom of our hearts, for bringing Roscoe and Hawk's two totally different personalities, and not-so-great habits, to a more enriched brotherly relationship. :) GHC provided them a loving, safe, and happy place to live and learn and it showed. Heartbroken and Disappointed…read more I really tried to help this groomer when she came to Montrose to groom my four golden retrievers. I had mentioned do you know anyone that needs a dog stroller, she said oh we could use one so I gave her mine -- it cost me $189.00 but I wanted to support her. I also gave her a new $50 dog bed and cover I took a glance inside her trailer and honestly it was very dirty, but I chose to look past that and be kind. She told me she traveled often between Durango and Dolores and offered to trim my dogs' nails in the future. I truly believed her and appreciated the offer. Later, when I reached out for that nail trim, she told me she wasn't coming back to this area and that I could either drive two hours or seven hours one way to meet her. That was incredibly upsetting. I'm caring for a husband with dementia -- long trips like that aren't possible for me. I gave from the heart, without expecting much -- just a little follow-through. Instead, I was left feeling used. It hurt to be treated like that after doing so much to help her. All I can say is this business is very self absorbed. I truly understand that the drive economically would Not be beneficial. I even offered to meet in Montrose I visit all The time. I think the bottom line she did not want to trim four sweet goldens with an exception of one being difficult. This is why I tried my best to compensate.
