When I scheduled my dog for grooming with Haley, I asked her about her price for grooming. She told me $55-65 depending on the dog. I also told her that my dog, although small, is touchy about her feet. When I picked my dog up, she looked well groomed. When I went to pay for the grooming, I was told it was $70. I was very surprised at the fee. She is a small dog and grooming took less than 2 hours. I will not be using Haley again. read more

My hubby and I were traveling through Montrose to Telluride when we remembered nether of us grabbed for for our baby girl. So while we were eating breakfast we looked up and found Chow Down, saw all the great reviews and decided this is was going to be the best place for our pup. Traveling through Montrose, this place was recommended as a great pet supply store. I am so glad I walked over! The service was outstanding and friendly. They have so many great foods and treats for dogs- all the healthy stuff! Tons of toys and other things. I mentioned that I was going to wash my dog that day and they said they currently had a coupon for a free dog wash and they set me up to use there's right on the spot! The people overall in the store were actually really kind and helpful. My only reason for a poor review is because of their TERRIBLE groomer. I took my dog there because Pet-co was extremely booked and my dog needed a haircut soon so I decided to go with the groomer at Chow Down. After the haircut, when I went to pick up my dog, he looked terrified and on top of that, my dog's hair didn't even look evenly cut. The lady then tells me my dog had bit her which had NEVER been a problem at Pet-co but I apologized and paid the full amount anyways. A day or two later I noticed that my dog's genitals were extremely swollen and infected. I went to the vet and they told me that he had a severe bladder infection that was most likely caused by extreme amounts of stress or/and by being injured. I texted the groomer lady about it and she never replied. Definitely one of the worst grooming experiences I've ever had. I recommend just going somewhere more professional like Pet-co. read more

They have helped me find great food for my dogs that is healthy and delicious and we have also gotten my dogs' weight down a bit. Wow, what can I say about this wonderful store. My pets and I loving going there and seeing all the wonderful product they have to offer. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I have four dogs and one of them has a gluten allergy so they always help me find the grain free goodies. Another of my dogs has a pancreatic issue where he has a hard time gaining weight. They have helped me time and time again to look for foods and treats that are high in fat and protein to help him. They have given me free samples so I can decide what works best for his system.
