The free dessert we got for being first patrons

I literally can't say enough good things about this place. The pizza is SO, SO, good!! The free dessert was a bonus after we told them it was our first time there. Service is good. We will definitely be back. Please come here if you're in the area.

Busy but seated quickly and waiteress was friendly and attentive. Food was great and served at a reasonable time being all seats were packed. Would recommend them highly.

Tortoras is a locally owned an operated restaurant with amazing service. There is actually two parts to Tortora's, once being more pizza based (their pizza has actually won awards over the last few years such as 2009 Huntsville Times Best Pizza in Northeast Alabama, the 2010 NAPICS "Best of The Midwest" Pizza Contest, and the 2012 al.com/Huntsville Times Best Pizza in Huntsville.) they have happy hour specials, and a menu full of delicious appetizers and entrees. I ordered the spicy shrimp pasta Alfredo, which has sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, shrimp, and penne pasta in a creamy spicy Alfredo sauce. This dish went above all expectations for sure. The spice of the Alfredo sauce was just a perfect amount of heat and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The fried ravioli was also a delicious touch with the marinara sauce. If you get a dessert and want something that is a guilty pleasure get the loaded Zeppoles. It's like deep fried pizza dough rolled in powdered sugar and topped with a variety of delicious toppings, like a funnel cake on steroids. They have indoor and outdoor patio seating which was really nice. The outdoor patio is screen in and has heaters/fans for those chill nights or warm nights. Tortoras was such a great experience and anytime I am in that area I will be back! Everything was delicious and the service was spectacular!

Best Italian restaurant in Huntsville by far. The wife and I eat here pretty often. The service and food is always great! I will say that Tortora's has 2 sides. One side of the restaurant is "wood fired grill" and the other side is the normal restaurant. I greatly prefer the "wood fired grill" over the normal restaurant. That is mainly based on the atmosphere. Definitely a place to check out!

Never had a bad meal here. Everything is made fresh. The portions could feed two people easy. Our service was great!

There's street parking and several parking garages within a block or two -- I used the one off Jefferson St by The Moon, but there's also one on the corner of Holmes and Greene Street. It's not a bad walk at all so don't let parking scare you! The one on Jefferson is free for 2 hours and the one off Greene is cheap and free on the weekends. Anyway, now that I'm off my parking pedestal... Razzo fills a great niche for good pizza downtown. Perhaps better than that for me, it fills the niche of "place that is actually open and serving food from 2-4 PM downtown." I'm salty because of my frustration over finding adequate late lunch spots, but sincerely, I was so happy to be able to walk in and get a bite before an appointment a few weeks ago! They have specialty pizzas that you can order in whole pies, as well as a semi-rotating selection of specialty single slices. You can always get a pepperoni or cheese slice though, which is usually what I prefer anyway. They have a really nice weekday lunch special for two slices, a soda, and a small oreo calzone for dessert. They do have some craft beers on tap, and a few other dessert and appetizer-y options. The whole pies are a little pricy, but that's because... The quality is awesome! Chewy but not doughy sourdough crust, gooey, look-at-the-pull mozzarella, a healthy drizzle of olive oil, a gorgeous subtle tomato sauce, and nicely smoky pepperoni: that's how I'd describe the slice I got when I visited. It was so good! I'd say this place is definitely among my picks for best pizza in town. Service was nice and my slice came out quickly. The inside is approachable and comfy and has a few diversions for the kids if they come along. I also think they deliver over to The Dirty Olive just up the street, so if you'd like a pizza with your craft cocktail, well...you know who to call! Two small things I would change, if I could: the prompted tip on the tablet at the end of each transaction is really high for counter service (like, I wanna say starts at 25% high). I'm not personally too pressed about it as it's easy to change the percent and at any rate I believe the workers deserve a healthy tip anyway, but I can see how it could be off-putting. Second, more importantly for me, I wish there was real silverware for use during dine in. The individual slices are quite large and appropriately semi-floppy and very cheesy. In these types of situations, I much prefer to cut my pizza into smaller pieces and eat with a knife and fork. Plastic ones were provided but they really didn't get the job done with how chewy the sourdough crust was. Ultimately, these nitpicks are pretty small for me. I definitely look forward to stopping by in the future for a quick, simple, and delicious lunch or dinner!

We showed up shortly after they opened and tried 2 different slices. I tried the pepperoni and the white cheese. The pepperoni was perfection. The white cheese was really good and had a bit of lemon, which I loved. The space is very open. There are some fun odes to rocket city that you'll have to look for. There is also a drawing pad for kids on the wall. I'm excited for the grand opening and to see what their full menu will look like! Keep your eyes open, it should be 3/29-3/30/25. Soft opening will be 3/27-3/28. It will be soon!

It's a short scenic drive up the mountain from Trenton and close to Cloudland Canyon Park. I sat outside. The seating area feels less like a patio and more like eating in a small park, with the golf course near by. I started with the arugula salad, which was bright and peppery and dressed simply. The Stella pizza came next and it was so good. The wood-fired oven really does the work here. The crust had that proper Neapolitan char and the chew was perfect. Ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. A few practical things to know before you go. They're only open Thursday through Sunday, and they close early (8:30 most nights, 7 on Sundays). They also close when the dough runs out for the night, so don't wait too late. It's BYOB, which is a nice touch if you plan ahead. The staff was patient and helpful while trying to make a menu choice. If you're staying anywhere near Cloudland Canyon or Lookout Mountain, eat here.

Unfortunately, this is not exceptional wood fired pizza! The night we were there, they only had small pizzas available, since there were three in our party, we ordered three pizzas. Order was placed at the same time, two pepperoni and one margherita. Two pepperoni came out within 10 minutes, the margherita took an additional 20 minutes after the pepperoni. Now a true wood fired pizza takes about 3 minutes to cook, sometimes less. So not sure what the problem was, and the waitress gave no explanation. I can only attest to the pepperoni. Crust was crisp on outside, chewy on inside. Nice char on top. But WAY too much corn meal on the bottom of the crust! Red sauce was bland to no taste. Some seasoning would be a good idea. Cheese was hot and well melted but bland as well. Pepperoni was definitely chain store pepperoni. Overall, ahhh, it was a pizza. Not something I would come back for. Not something I would recommend. Only drinks available were bottled soda or wine. No fountain drinks, no water in a glass, no sweet tea. I guess that's why it's called a winery. My two stars is for the pizza and drinks alone. I can't attest to the wine or other menu items. I wish them luck, but I'm not a wine drinker so won't be making a special trip to come back.

We seated ourselves in a booth with minimal cleaning needed. Had to ask for it to be cleaned. At first I wasn't too sure about our server Emma but she turned out to be wonderful. We order a 16" extra cheese pizza with half mushroom and onion. Pepsi products and hubs had the calzone with sausage, green peppers and onion and a blood orange beer. If you want deep dish Chicago style be prepared to wait from 44 minutes to an hour. We were told because it's cooked upside down it takes longer for everything to cook. The calzone was beautiful when brought to the table and pizza looked good. The cheese had a great cheese pull. Granddaughter had a heck of a time biting it off. Beer tasted good. I always take the first sip when it really cold. Pizza was delicious, you could taste the onions without it being overpowering. They were bite size. Not much business at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. One of the servers had her kids there and they were running back and forth chasing each other. That did t bother me but the stomping on the booth seat did. As we left the server had her daughter helping her pick up a large table. The little guy was jumping off the stage. This would be an awesome bar with good music at night. Sorry don't know if they do that already. Brought leftovers home. Didn't care for the pizza cold but that's just me.
