This was a great find, truly a hidden gem as the name suggests. Too hot for the outdoor patio, but interior and exterior are beautiful. Cool 81 beers on draught kind of place ... turn in at big sign .. service was superb at 330 .. they do a nice pub menu too.. tried a swath of ambers the settled on the smithwick Irish red which was a perfect cool temp . Passing through town and stopped by based on a friends recommendation. Nice atmosphere, good service with helpful waiters, and a great beer list. I love the place so nice and the patio is my favorite place to sit. The service was great nothing to brag about but the beer was so good an amazing selection. I think this is a good place to grab a drink and maybe an appetizer but I wouldn't eat here. I had read the menu online and they had pizza so I was really looking forward to it. When we ordered the pizza and received it, it had look like they just took the pizza out of the box and put it in the oven I was honestly so disappointed. It tasted just like the frozen pizza you get in the freezer section at Walmart. And I'm almost 99.99% sure that's where it came from. Just because you sprinkled some parsley on it doesn't mean you made it. I will be coming back but not for the food. read more

I've been to the Nook several times and had good and bad experiences, but tonight was the worst. They've lost my business for good. My wife and I wanted to sit down with some friends and enjoy a drink. We have an infant daughter who is too young for a sitter, so we brought her with us. While we were grabbing a seat by our friends and saying hi, a server walked over and told us we'd have to leave because minors aren't allowed. Even with their parents. Even when they're 4 months old. The Nook was suggested to us as a place to get some drinks after work with some of the locals. So off we went to meet up with them. I did not expect to find a place like The Nook out here in Huntsville with an extensive beer selection that I have trouble finding in a nice sit-down bar in California! It reminded me of other beer emporiums I've been to in Philadelphia and NYC with their long list of taps and longer list of bottles that they had from as local as Huntsville & Alabama to as far as Europe, Asia, and more! I know a beer place knows their stuff when I'm trying to look for some Belgian lambics and they have Tilquin on their menu! That being said, I was looking to try a bit more of their local beers so I went with some Straight to Ale Brewery options. I started with their Brother Joseph's Belgian Style Dubbel - one of my favorite styles of beer! I was happy to see some Belgian styles at a local brewery! There are small bites and eats here. I wouldn't come here for the food necessarily but it's nice that they offer chips and queso, some charcuterie and cheese plates which we ordered and shared among the group. They also have a nice back patio which I'm sure would be great for the summer but not so much while we were there in December. They do have great decorations all around. I think several words can be used to describe this place...overwhelming....intimidating....amazing....I think you get the idea. Seriously, 500 different types of beer of which 80 are on tap. This place has a huge indoor seating area to accompany a large outdoor seating area. The outdoor space is perfectly suited for a warm day with plenty of trees to provide shade and some areas that will have some sun too. Staff is really friendly and attentive. This was the middle of the day on a Saturday and they only had about 10 - 12 people here. They were quick to come over and see what they could get for you. Patient as you went through the list of 500 different types of beer attempting to find what you are interested in and totally capable of making recommendations based on what style of beer is your favorite. Prices are reasonable and they also have a menu of food items too. I didn't actually try anything from the food menu, possible next time. Also, in the back room area, as I was leaving, I found that they have a full whiskey bar with a huge selection to pick between. Definitely want to check this out next time I come by here. Really cool place, would like to come by when they are a little more crowded. I would anticipate by that the vibe with a larger crowd would be equally impressive. Really interesting bar that looks like it was once a VFW hall. One of the largest beer selections I've seen as well as an impressive whiskey list. Nook also is a full bar in case beer or whiskey isn't your thing. The waitstaff and bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and will guide you to your type of beverage. Great outdoor seating with mini fire pits built in to a few tables. The only reason that this review isn't five stars is the chef. He seemed to genuinely hate his job and the people he was serving. Maybe because he was the cook and the server? Who knows. I tried to engage in light conversation with him to find out why he was so disgruntled. I mentioned that he reminds me of Questlove without the bushy hair. Being from Philadelphia I absolutely love him. He looked at me with such a look that I was afraid to order anything else for fear that I may find something in my food that shouldn't be there. The Nook Is A Great Little Bar Seated In Huntsville, Alabama. This little bar is filled with very friendly and very helpful staff who love to help you out, especially when you are overwhelmed by their massive menu of over 400 different kinds of beer. This place has it all, whatever you're looking for, i'm sure they will have it, unless you want a watered down beer (budlight, coors etc). They will also sell you their stock at a lower price than what it would cost to drink it in the bar, and if they don't have enough to sell the staff will send you in the right direction to a local store to find what you want. The bar also has a few top shelf liquors, especially scotch. I am not sure how many or what all they have so I will not review them on this. Also, this bar is completely nonsmoking unless you go out back on the deck, I love this and this is one of the main reasons why I come to this bar. It is very rare that you find a bar that is nonsmoking, and I've traveled many times over a hour and a half to drink here because of this. So the selection is awesome for beers and whiskey for sure. The only complain I have and it very well may be the bartender I had the past 2 nights, is that his pours are VERY WEAK!!! So, my beer for $9 is an inch shy of the top with ZERO head and I ordered 2 whiskeys neat ( oh, they are only 1.25oz) and I saw him measure and they were not even to the top of the jigger. It's.
