Where do I start here? Me and 3 other people came here because they were one of a few restaurants close by that didn't close at 8 or 9pm. First the waitress was acting as if she didn't want to be there and its like hey I get it. I have 10+ years of experience in the food industry plus a Culinary Arts School graduate, I understand but don't take it out on us. I asked her (because I dont drink soda) where there any no soda drinks like juices or something i could get. I asked for lemonade and she told me it was carbonated. My friend ordered it and guess what it wasn't carbonated. The atmosphere was kind of dull and dingy like it was stuck in a time period in a grandpas man cave in a basement. Oh to add to that we are pretty sure we saw the manager or owner either drive home drunk or was physically ill. He did not look good and should not have gotten behind the wheel. Now for the food. My one friend ordered a Ruben and said whatever the sauce was on the sandwich was extremely sweet! My other friend had the catfish plate nothing was seasoned and the cornbread was dry and falling apart. A buddy of mine ordered wings and the wings were not seasoned and were barely sauced. He also ordered the country fried steak and gravy meal. Once again nothing was seasoned and the mashed potatoes were instant potatoes. I ordered the chicken tenders for an appetizer and these things were as big as my pinky super floppy no crisp at all and guess what not seasoned. My main course was the bbq bacon burger and you could instantly tell the burger was a super prossed frozen patty also not seasoned and the bacon was not crispy and had no flavor. I didn't even know it was there. This was not a good experience and we will not return. 4 people and nothing was good is crazy to think but its true. I'd honestly steer clear from here but hey maybe you will have a better experience than us.

Chill atmosphere, good food at a great price. Food came out fast too. Parking was also convenient.

First time visit to West End Grill. Limited selection of draught brewskies. Specials are on the chalk board. Service was friendly. Tried a bowl of corn chowder soup special with a Turkey and Swiss sandwich, and wouldn't order again. Also Wicked Weed Salad was okay. The place is tired, and in need of some cleaning. Bricks out front have been hit by a vehicle...and haven't gotten around to a repair. Credit card surcharge.

I had not been to West End Grill in years so I decided to stop by. I noticed that the bar area was super packed... like there were no empty seats, so not sure if WEG had happy hour specials that I wasn't aware of or not, but they definitely seemed like they were having a good time at that bar. The restaurant itself is not big. It sits in a slightly older plaza (we saw some of the brick columns outside that needed to be badly repaired). There were quite a few patrons in the restaurant, but not super packed. It took our host awhile to seat us for some odd reason (I could tell he may have had a day). Once we were seated, it also took awhile for our waitress to greet us, so WEG may be short staffed. I then ordered the Canjun pasta with shrimp and chicken and it was just decent. It was swimming in sauce. Now I like pasta to be somewhat "saucy," but that was simply too much. The pasta also lacked flavor so I had to really season it up with some salt and pepper. All in all not my best visit at WEG.

Food is consistent. I enjoy the homestyle cooking. I also enjoy watching the fish fight.

Very full layered with a fresh and rounded flavors. Next, I had the Ashley Farm chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Chicken was tender and juicy. Potatoes nicely whipped hearty and full of flavor. The sauce was light and complimented the chicken well. Steak Frites uhhhh it was so delicious!! My daughter order it and she is 10 and she could cut the steak on her own. Buttery and juicy! Truffle fries came with the steak. Lastly, my husband had the red snapper with cheddar grits! Honey he cleaned that plate. None of us left a crumb! We will definitely be back for a date night! Char will be on our regular rotation!! I hear the Brunch is Amazing!

Our table was ready when we walked in the door. Our waitress, Linze R., was phenomenal. She described the chicken parm well enough we decided to order it- a dish we split. We had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. A coke and I had a white sangria. The food was out in probably less than 15 minutes (appetizer first of course). The sangria was so good I finished it and slurped the bottom of the cup. The fried green tomatoes, a dish we've had every time we ever visited, were fabulous. The andouille sausage remoulade served with it is tangy, creamy and just slightly spicy. Epic. But the chicken Parmesan... that humble dish of which I had no expectations would be dynamic... that was the BEST chicken Parmesan I've ever had, head and shoulders above any Italian restaurant in the city. The tomato sauce was bright and tangy. The fried chicken was ... divine. To wrap it up, Linze was amazing. She was personable and professional. she took care of us and made a routine normal meal into an extraordinary one. Thank you Linze, you are truly exceptional at what you do.

Great place to chill drink some wine. Even cooler on a date for a nice quiet time relaxing. Denise really knew the menu and chefs. I went with the canadian bakin baguette and farmers market plate with chicken. The baguette was warmed nicely and the garlic spice butter was really good. The farmers market plate was a great surprise. All the veggies melded together perfectly. The flavor profiles with tomatoes, watermelon radish, asparagus, brocolini.... was awesome. Add in a little salty spice with sweet potato mash at the bottom. Dayum great dish. I did get the chicken with the dish. Totally not needed, the veggies carried the day. Minor feedback for the chicken would be a char on the chicken to go with the dish. I forgot about the duck fat fries and ordered them. Almost perfect. They came out piping hot with great flavor. The curry catchup and garlic aioli were great. Minor feedback is the fries did not appear twice fried. They were good but that would be the additional touch. I will count the fries as dessert. They were delicious, definitely a shareable side, I did my best on my solo date. Service continued to be amazing. Denise replaced my water bottle not because it was empty but because she thought it may be warm. Great experience, great food, great atmosphere. Definitely recommend for party or date to relax. So the waitress takes it back and a few minutes later she brings it back out. Same steak that I had already cut into. The steak was not only very try but again was very overcooked. It was medium well to well done yet again. And more or less she just said sorry about that and left the table. I paid almost $50 for a very dry and overcooked steak. Cheyenne was our server and she did a good job! She was friendly, professional and knowledgeable! Cheyenne brought us complimentary biscuits and butter (or maybe another type of sauce) that my Sisters said were delicious! They were extra fluffy and baked correctly. We three shared the Steak Egg Rolls that were actually really good, very creamy and rich, and unique. I did not try the sauce/sauces that came with them. They were served at the correct temperature and a nice, rich appetizer that I would recommend! Sister #1 ordered the "Stoney River Breakfast Skillet" which was attractively plated in a skillet and appeared to be the correct temperature and her eggs were cooked to her liking. She was off put by the cheddar cheese that topped the skillet off - it looked very artificial (meaning bright orange yellow) and as if, instead of cheese, the egg yolks were sort of sitting atop the skillet. She's not a huge complainer and she finished the skillet. Sister #2 ordered the shrimp and grits, described as "...Cajun sauteed shrimp, Worcestershire cream reduction, bacon, cheese grits." The plate looked nice; however she said the shrimp were "beyond rubbery and more of the texture of shoe leather." I kept encouraging her to send it back and order something else and she said she said she was "hungry and it is edible." She did say the grits were excellent. Sister #1 and I tasted the sauce of the shrimp and grits and both of us found it very "tomato flavor forward and oddly sweet." Christine's lunch was a disappointment. Also, she should have sent the dish back, in my opinion, I'm sure Stoney River would have made it right. I got the small filet, I think it was seven ounces, cooked medium rare with asparagus. You get one side with this dish which is fine. The steak, once again, was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly with no need to add any salt/pepper and it was nicely seared! The steak was delicious! We had wine, which was good, too! We did not get dessert and were offered more "biscuits" to go (which seemed odd to me, it was like 2:30 in a very hot afternoon and I wasn't interested in carting biscuits around in a hot car); however, it was a thoughtful gesture. Last comment I have is no fault of Stoney River's, it's a "Clift Farms" thing, at least the Development Fee is Clift Farms specific, I don't know the "wine tax" fee. I really dislike fees. My $200.00+ bill included a three percent "development fee" of $5.58, a "Wine Tax" of $4.18 (I've never seen that before, what is a wine tax?) and regular "Sales Tax" of $6.36. Thank you for the friendly professional service and the extremely clean, comfortable in-person restaurant dining experience!
