The PA ( not even an MD) balked when I told him that I couldn't take OTC drugs like Advil because my body doesn't process them correctly; this was discovered during a DNA test in 2016. Total Access Urgent Care - After showing up 30 minutes early now going on 90 mins after appointment time - Urgent Care Near Me - Ballwin, Missouri

I had a rather bad experience at this location. I had Covid-19 and just wanted a script for Paxlovid. My visit could have taken 5 minutes, even with the assorted forms and vitals. I arrived before 9 AM but they couldn't see me until 10. OK. Fine. I returned before 10 and was put in a room for 45 minutes, only getting a brief BP check. At that point, I was pretty impatient and asked if they had forgotten about me. The EMT gave me the eye-rolling treatment for my lack of patience. I had explained what I was there for when I first arrived and when they finally got to me -- a few minutes before 11 (?) -- they told me they'd need to do their own Covid test and also a blood workup to prescribe Paxlovid. There was some more eye rolling when I demurred. At that point, I decided to cut my losses and leave. So, I was out $50 for the copay and 2 hours of my time with nothing at all gained. Now, I am sure that some MD would explain why this was all part of "Total Access Urgent Care" procedures and the tests were strictly necessary, but that indicates to me that their procedures have a problem. They could have told me when I arrived that I needed to come back in 2 hours (not 1) and that I'd need covid and blood tests and so on. The entire substantive interaction with their staff probably didn't take 2 minutes. How about a preliminary interview to determine if they can help me and how long it will take? I went online to make an appt but it read walk ins accepted. i had waited in my car 10 minutes before I went in, 8 employees and no customers when I went in at 8:00. She asked if I had an appt I said no I'm a walk in, she said we can take you at 9:25. So they don't take walk ins if there's no customers why didn't they take me. I left at 8:10 still no customers. I was seen at the Ballwin location for a possible broken rib. Not only did the physician not exam me or even touch me, I don't know if the employee who took my x-rays was even an x-ray technician because he did not introduce himself. I found out after my x-rays were done the they were being read by the same physician that didn't exam me. Xrays should be read by a Radiologist. The physicians that went to school to learn how to do exactly that. I would not reccomend going here if you need any kind of imaging. It is so scary to me that a radiologist never sees any results and the urgent care doctors/physician assistants determine what the findings are. Missing some small inconsistencies could be very tragic for a patient. read more

I had an appt at noon today at the Town and Country location. I didn't get put in a room until around 12:30. An intake person came in and took my pulse and listened to my symptoms. NO blood pressure was taken nor temperature taken. They took a Covid test. I waited ONE hour. Within the hour, the intake person came in to tell me I was "next". That was not true as I waited another 45 minutes. Another person came in to see if I was ok. It was over an hour until the PA came in. She told me I was positive for Covid, and then said "what's going on" No bedside manner. I told her no one took my temperature. She listened to my heart and then said she'd check into that. I said well I hope I don't have to wait an hour for that. She then looked at me very smugly and said, Well you'd wait longer at the ER. Very very rude. Her name was Sharnice. She had absolutely no medical manners and was rude and condescending. Someone came in to take my temperature then I was sent home. After getting home, I realized no one took my blood pressure either. I have never been to this or any other branch of this urgent care and yet somehow they have not only obtained my phone number but are repeatedly texting me to demand money I don't owe and once addressed me by a name that isn't mine, so I know for sure I haven't forgotten about needing medical attention at some random clinic. I have repeatedly responded that I am not their customer/patient, never have been, and do not owe any money (over $400, according to one of the messages). I finally blocked the number, only to be harassed once again about a month later -- the same song, dance, and block followed. At no time was the STOP keyword (which is supposed to stop unwanted text messages) ever honored. I'm up to roughly a dozen requests to stop harassing me, and I won't be surprised if a third number comes out of the woodwork to resume pestering me. Why would I ever patronize a business that harasses random people who have no connection to them? If they can't keep their records straight, I cringe to think what they might do with my actual medical records. How would they feel if I demanded $400+ from them? By the way, TAUC, I'm hard of hearing, so continually telling me to call you is incredibly ableist and rude. You texted me. You can read my replies. This place is great since you can make an appt online, which apparently doesn't guarantee your time scheduled, but it also gives you a sense of whether they're backed up or not. I was greeted warmly and enthusiastically even though I felt terrible (bronchitis). I was seen almost immediately and according to my online reservation. The assistant was efficient and very helpful. The doctor was older, very sweet and seemed thorough. My favorite part was getting my prescription filled on the spot. It's hard to believe I was there for a total of only 35 minutes--although I never felt ruahed. read more

I've been to many Urgent Cares and this might have been the best. My Dad got banged up pretty badly and might have needed stitches. Although we got there close to closing, every single person was warm, welcoming, and spent as much time as was needed - which included a CT and hand x-ray. We never felt rushed. The doctor staffed that day, Dr. Williams, was phenomenal! She went above and beyond just to make sure my Dad was fine after his fall, spent time explaining all the results, and made him feel very taken care of. As I've learned, having doctors and the amazing equipment they have on hand (CT for example) is RARE. Most have only RNs and nurse practitioners. And had they not had a CT Scanner, he'd have been sent over to the ER at another hospital, had to wait a long time, and then gotten the results the next day. At this place, he was out of there in about 40 minutes. He's also got VA insurance which many places do not take but they do. Whatever this location is doing (and maybe all of Total Access) they're doing right. read more

My husband and I just had a horrible experience at the Town & Country location. After stopping by at 8am to be added to the waitlist and told the wait would be 2 hours. We went home and were contacted at noon to return. We then waited inside the facility for over an hour and a half with other folks being taken ahead of him. He was never seen. We left and will never return. The front desk had an "I could care less" attitude. They were processing one patient every half hour. There are other urgent cares that will get our business in the future. read more

This is just the best place to go if you are feeling any kind of way. The staff here is so friendly and nice. They welcome you with open arms and make you feel like family. They treat you like they would treat their own grandmother with an illness for example. I highly recommend this urgent care to anyone and everyone. The prices are also very reasonable and the billing department really works with you. They understand hear that everybody is going through things and they try to accommodate the best that they can. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I am now leaving comfortably and happy. Unlike the mercy facility down the street that denied me service. I went in with extreme stomach pain. I had 0 wait time. Everyone was extremely attentive and friendly. Within an hour they had given me an IV, CT scan, drawn blood and taken a urine sample. I had also had a consultation with the doctor who was friendly and informative about what was going on. Within 90 minutes they had me out the door, feeling better, and with a prescription filled for the acid reflux I was experiencing. They called me a few days later to check in and make sure I was feeling better. The experience and customer service far exceeded my expectations. I will come back anytime I have a minor emergency. I have been a loyal customer all my family goes here but not after today I got a text on my phone yesterday that showed I was charges 21.74 I called the south county st louis office and the gal that answered the phone informed me they took it upon themselves to charge my card I was not made aware of this so of course I had already called my bank thinking someone was using my card and had them close out my acct now I have to wait 5 plus days to get a new card all because they made a charge without making me aware of it this is really unprofessional and not to mention disrespectful You would think someone would contact a person prior to I really liked the care I received there But my family and I will be going elsewhere .They really need better people skills and they should not without informing a customer just access their acct and charge their acct I wonder how many other people had to close out their acct thinking their bank acct had been compromised now I have to be inconvenienced for 5 plus days because of this. My family really appreciates all of the help that TAUC has given us over time. I had to go in today for a number of reasons I didn't feel comfortable with. I ended up being dehydrated and I needed and IV. Ia absolutely terrified of needles, especially IV's. The doctor was understanding and the EMT's/assistants were outstanding. While they did the IV they had two in there, one to hold my hand and one to do the procedure. They both talked to me the whole time and didn't get irritated when I cried like a baby. I had to have 2L of saline via IV and the entire time i was there they took good care of me. Checked on me every couple minutes and made sure I was okay. Everyone was coming in to say hi and see how I was doing, not just one nurse/EMT/doctor. They offered to turn the television on to my favorite channel so I could watch some TV. I had no wait when I got there and there was very short wait to see the doctor once I got in my room. I have come to this urgent care time and time again when my family and I need care. I went to the Town and Country urgent care on 9/16/2023 for upper respiratory infection and tightness in my chest due to asthma arrived at 5:40 pm and received text message informing me I was 4th in line.I sat in the waiting room with 3 other patients waiting to be seen.At 6:20 I was taken to a room and told I would be seen shortly.I waited till 6:40 and someone came in asked me my symptoms took my temperature and blood pressure was told that the dr was with a patient and would see me next.At 6:55 some came in to reassure that they had not forgot about me.At 7:05 healthcare said the dr wanted to test me for covid and to administer a breathing treatment at this time I had been waiting for one hour and 25 minutes still not talking to the doctor.I informed staff I had a nebulizer at home and my primary car dr treated me with prednisone and I needed a prescription.At 7:20 another worker said she was sorry for the wait and would try to expedite it.I finally told the staff I couldnt wait any longer I was there for 2 hours never seen the doctor I was 4th in line staff asked me if I was refusing treatment I told them my phone text from total acess said service was complete I was then informed that it doesnt matter what number in line you are they determine whose needs are urgent and treat patients who they determine are more in need.I would advise anyone that needs treatment after when your normal health care providers are closed avoid Town and Country Total Access I can't comment on other locations but this was the worst health care experience that I have ever had. I came in with a high fever and asked if I could be seen by them. It was probably around 12pm/ 1pm and they said they were fully booked up due to new swells in COVID caused by the delta variant. Which ofcourse is completely understandable. I told the front desk lady how high my fever was and asked if I should go to the ER or Jsut head home and schedule an appointment for tomorrow. She said she had no medical training and went back there to ask one of the healthcare providers. They made an exception and immediately admitted me. They tested me for COVID and about 5 or 6 different people came in to check on me while I was waiting on test results/ waiting to be seen. And everyone of them was very nice. One got me a blanket and 2 got me water. I had a great experience here and the people made me feel safe and taken care of. read more

I am pleasantly surprised by how efficient everything has been. I registered online (just go to their website) and they had me in a room before I could finish the paperwork. I had vitals done in minutes and X-rays just a few minutes after that. Everyone was welcoming and caring. They double checked my allergies and didn't give me something related to my allergies. Good catch. In and out easily within an hour, unheard of in any urgent or "prompt" care I have ever gone to in the past. They are open 8-8 everyday of the week and holidays, and I sent a message to yelp to fix listed hours which had them closed Sundays. I need medication and they have their own in house pharmacy so I didn't have to go anywhere else, just there and home. read more

Returning patient for my daughter to get a physical for high school. First off, who knew you could make an appt at Urgent Care?! Was thrilled to have this option! Everyone was very pleasant, no wait, extremely clean. Unanswered out in 45 min, better than the traditional Drs office! Once again, had to run there to see a dr for myself this time though! Had 4 hours until I took off on a plane and they got me in quickly, I was seen promptly and got a shot and medicine to get me up in the air with my sinus infection from allergies. Last Saturday, I arrived with a very painful shoulder. I was checked in, waited about 10 minutes, my vitals taken, and in about 20 minutes I was seen by Dr. Hinrichs. Dr. Hinrichs was very thorough in his questions, asked about history, etc. I was x-rayed on the spot, preliminary diagnosed (more examination by specialist and MRI needed). Dr. Hinrichs was very informative about the possibilities and available treatments. He handed me a couple recommendations of Orthopedic MD's, gave me three prescriptions, and gave me some post-visit instructions. He asked that I call him to follow up on progress in 5 days and follow up with my Primary Care Doctor. The staff here are very personable and take interest in you, as a person not just another patient. While the work is done quickly, you are always #1 during the process. Everything is self-contained: lab, pharmacy, x-ray. Makes for a quick and easy visit, while getting the best care possible. I was in and out in about an hour, meds and instructions in hand. Best place to go for quick care, when your doctor can't get you in for 2-3 months! read more

They treated me yesterday for a respiratory problem and as always they did a great job!! Everyone is very friendly. Even the Gran Foobah Dr. Hinrichs came in and asked me how was I doing. They took Xrays, Nebulizer, Steroid shot, and of course prescribed medications. They do it all there!! Felt so much better and joked with one of the Staff by saying, maybe it's psychosomatic that I feel much better. Told him just put up Urgent Cares all around, and give people placebos and they feel great!!! Well maybe not such a good idea, especially the placebo part!! HINT* Sign up online and make the appointment (even though one is not needed); gets you in faster and yesterday there were a lot of people. I have taken my young daughter here twice and they are amazing! They get us in and out quickly, without feeling rushed. They take the time to discuss everything with HER which makes her feel comfortable. I was nervous the first time I took her because of her age, I worried they wouldn't be good with kids but they are amazing!! Then they take the time to answer any questions that we have. And they give us all the info needed for follow up. Every member of the staff there has been amazing both times!! And they were equipped to run the necessary tests right there, including x-rays this last time. They even had a tiny walking boot to put on her when she broke a bone in her foot. I am so glad I found this place because even though her regular pediatrician is amazing, sometimes things happen after hours and now I have a great place to take her when that happens. read more

This Total Access Urgent Care is a joke. I went in for a minor UTI and mind you I was there for at least two hours after my screening. They left me in a room curled up in a ball (from pain) while they all chatted. That's fine, the mini labs take time. I was the only one there because it was Saturday morning. They prescribed an antibiotic while they waited for my labs to come back. Sunday I became extremely ill and on Monday even more so. Called them Monday morning, my voice cracking from the fatigue and asked about the results of my lab. I let the man know that I've become extremely ill. Let him know that my medication wasn't effective and needed a different one. He said labs were back but the doctor needed to approve the change in medication. So I went somewhere else and they told me the bacteria was spreading to my kidneys. They prescribed a different medication immediately. Total Access Urgent Care called the following day and said, "Your medication has a resistance to your string of infection". Yeah, no shit. So, in a nutshell I was almost hospitalized due to TOTAL ACCESS URGENT CARE. I wrote them a letter expressing my dissatisfaction to their services. Thanks for the apology for your gross negligence. Also, thank you for billing me. Most of which my insurance has paid. The fact that they'd have the audacity to bill me is absolutely baffling. I've paid the lab because they've done nothing wrong. Do yourself a favor and go to a real hospital. read more

Good, but not worthy of its five star rating. Well, I suppose if you're just going for a cough or something else minor....I went there twice for a staph infected abscess. The doctor was as kind and gentle as possible considering she was slicing into my nether regions. The problem was she didn't prescribe me packing and bandages and tell me how and when to change them, which turned out to be important. But it wasn't just her, the male doctor (the one starring in all the pics, failed to school me/equip me with the proper tools on my follow up two days later. Fast forward a couple more days, I'm at a surgeons office to look at a cyst, per the first doctors advice, and the old wound has to be cut deeper and cleaned (meaning more needles and knives), all because of the lack of proper packing and care. Lost four good days of what should have been healing and am now back at square one. read more

My husband is the type who won't go to the doctor unless he is dying, and on day 3 of a major headache...he was sure he was dying. He stopped in a Take Care Clinic, which immediately directed him to a Total Access due to the length of his headache. He didn't have to wait long, and by the time I arrived, he was already getting fluids and medication. The doctor diagnosed a sinus infection and we were able to get the medication on site! I took my daughter with an ankle injury on a Saturday morning. At the door where I dropped her off, someone met her with a wheelchair immediately when they saw her hopping. We were given friendly and fast service throughout the visit. Everyone was efficient from the front desk to the physician. X-rays taken on site. When I have need to return, I won't hesitate. Great, quick, attentive service! I have been to this location twice within the past year. Both times I've been in and out in a hour maximum. All the employees are very friendly and thoroughly explain your diagnosis, medications, follow-up procedure, etc. They usually also call after 2-3 days to see how you're feeling which is nice. My only caution is that they tend to "over treat" you. They've offered me IV antibiotics and IV fluids both times I've been. I work in the medical field myself, so I knew I didn't need these treatments and that they can be pricey. I politely declined and the NP was understanding and didn't pressure me, but I could definitely see patients with little medical background possibly being taken advantage of! All in all, I would not hesitate to return to this urgent care and would highly recommend it. read more
