The side of our roof was damaged from tree branches, and the chimney cap was missing the spark arrestor cap. When Duane Clark inspected our roof, he found 2 other areas that needed fixing. He also explained how he was going to add the chimney cap and fit over a double flue. While doing the job, they discovered some rotted plywood under the shingles, and replaced that for no additional charge. He also painted the chimney shroud so that it would look good from the street and yard. Duane and his crew are easy to work with, honest and do excellent work. They are attentive to the details and are interested in ensuring a solid and secure roof - not just how fast they can finish and move on to the next job. They made the repair, but next time it rained the leak was in the same spot. They have a 1yr guarantee on workmanship so I called them up and told them it was still leaking. They didn't show up for their appointment, so I rescheduled. Again, no show. This went on for a month. I even sent Duane a video one night of the water dripping from my ceiling. I finally had to hire (and pay) another company to make the repair.

I had heard their ads on our local conservative radio show about their craftsmanship and customer service and it seemed they would be the perfect company for my home remodel... well sad to say the ads aren't what I experienced when contacting them to setup an appointment for a consultation. Spoke to a really nice lady on the phone and explained to her what we were looking to do to our home. She took down our contact information and stated that one of the home remodel salesmen would be in contact to setup an appointment. 30 days past and we heard nothing, so my wife reached out to see what was going on and was informed that the nice lady I originally talked to on the phone had forgot to forward our information to the remodeling department. She was very apologetic, so My wife and I thought well minor over site and wanted to move forward with Southern since they supposedly share our values. Within a few days we were contacted by one of their remodeling specialist and made an appointment with this associates 2 weeks out from our conversation. Appointment day arrives and well the associate was a no show for our consultation. My wife disappointed from the no show reached out to Southern to make sure we were scheduled for a consultation and she confirmed and said she would have the sales associate contact us directly. Their sales associate did reach out to me and was apologetic about missing the appointment stating that an emergency had risen on one of their other jobs and that he was happy to reschedule for another day. While we were appreciative of the call and explanation still doesn't excuse the lack of communication from a company who's ads state they pride themselves on their workmanship and customer experience... especially after my wife and I took off work in order to meet with Southern Exteriors associate.
