My wife went in for a postpartum massage hoping for relief and ended up crying through much of the session. The massage was rough, almost abrasive at times, ended early, and did not include the complimentary additions like hot stones or cupping. Aromatherapy was only offered twice by Amanda rubbing lavender on her hands and asking my wife to inhale. During the massage, she was lying on her stomach and pressure was applied to her chest area. Shortly afterward, she developed a clogged duct that lasted about a week, causing significant pain, body aches, and making it even harder for her to relax and recover postpartum. What made this more disappointing is that our family has consistently supported this spa. Seven of us -- my wife, myself, my parents, and my in-laws -- have received services here, and we even returned to honor previously scheduled appointments. The spa honored the daily deals, which we appreciate. The bigger issue was how the situation was handled afterward. When I spoke with Heather, who is the owner, there was no apology or empathy. Instead, it was suggested that my wife might not be a good fit for massages if she is sensitive or postpartum. Kristi later followed up and was more accommodating, but no one ever acknowledged or apologized for what my wife experienced. I'm sharing this so postpartum clients know what to expect and in hopes the business improves communication, empathy, and awareness around caring for clients in vulnerable postpartum stages. read more

I was injured in a fall about 4 weeks ago. My recovery has been too slow and I was interested in a massage to speed my healing. I chose Total Therapy because of their location near my home and the previous great reviews. Total Therapy is located about 3 blocks north of I-70/Ward Rd., on the corner of 52nd and Ward. The office is on the second floor of a pleasant office building. The reception area and massage room are beautifully decorated and encourage comfort and relaxation. I was greeted by Heather, the owner and my massage therapist. Since I was a new client, I was asked to complete a one page health history. Heather then asked many intuitive questions regarding my injury and what I had tried to date. She took notes throughout and was genuinely interested in my issue. Heather alternated moist heat and massage on my right upper back while completing a 1 1/2 hour full body massage. I could literally feel my muscles relaxing and my pain level reducing. I am writing this review 24 hours after my massage and I feel significantly better, much less pain and better mobility. I am very grateful for Heather's expertise and absolutely plan to return soon. read more

Disappointing from start to finish.... I arrived for a 60-minute session and confirmed I was using a prepaid certificate During the appointment the therapist was very distracted and repeatedly left the room cutting down on the massage time and felt like a waste of time and money The most concerning part was the billing error as they charged the full price on my credit card instead of just redeeming prepaid voucher and even included their own gratuity which is unheard of When I spoke to the owner, she apologized and promised to refund the unauthorized charge but took multiple calls from my part just to ensure the money actually refunded Due to the time wasted on the massage and the trouble with the payment, unfortunately I would never recommend this spa read more

Great Place, very nice and clean. I have been to a lot of massage places, where they don't listen to what you want. I went to this location off a referral from a friend. When I showed up I was greeted by Tanisha. She asked if I had any concerns or questions. I told her that I had a back pain for months and no one could get it to stop hurting. She went through the entire process before she started. During the massage she asked multiple times if I was comfortable and if the pressure was right. At the end of my first session I had considerable relief from he pain that I had been dealing with for months. I highly recommend Tanisha. I have been to total therapy massage and spa on two different occasions for and eyelash lift and for a facial . Emily did both services . I have never had an eyelash lift before but they are amazing . I did not need to curl or where mascara for several weeks it was nice . My second service with Emily was a facial . I like that she does a consult with with on what you are looking for and the needs of your skin . As Emily is giving you a facial she lets you know what product she is using on you and the benefits of it . She has a wonderful touch and a calming presence to her . Had a massage with Tanisha, and had an awful experience. The room was freezing cold and I asked repeatedly for extra warmth (only a sheet was provided and it had snowed hard the day I went in), but felt like she was angsty about it. She also left the treatment room door wide open through the entire session. I was also shocked that she didn't wash her hands before the session.
