My wife and I have had the pleasure of having Joe drive us between a variety of locations in Denver, and DIA over the past couple of years. We fly into DIA a few times a year, to visit our adult kids, who both live in CO. One lives and works in Denver, and she's used Joe's service a number of times, as have her friends and co-workers. A++, in our opinion. Joe's a seasoned businessman, and understands customer service. He communicates well, and he doesn't get rattled in an imperfect world {the world of Denver traffic}. I've used driving services all over the country, on almost a weekly basis up until my very recent retirement. I love the fact that you're dealing with the owner. I love the fact that he's where the buck stops. We have ridden for the most part in one of his immaculate Suburbans. It's clean, he's got a supply of water, hard candy, and a few recent copies of People, etc. We never read them, as we always have a great conversation with Joe. As I read some of the low reviews, I'm pretty astonished, and my hunch is that people may not grasp how he communicates. He can't communicate with a crystal clear detailed email, while driving. I'll tend to communicate details in an email, or a text, and I ALWAYS get back a quick, and clear "Got it" "All set" "Look forward to seeing you". etc. I've heard him on his cell phone when he's asking people to confirm their travel details back to him via an email or text. It's not going into a black hole. He'll get it, and confirm back. Always has with us. He obviously needs a credit card, to make sure that he's not being used, and to assure that those booking are real customers. I will NOT put a CC number in a text or email, nor will many of his customers. He has mine on record {which I'm fine with}, but at first, I'd tell him that I'd much prefer that he call my cell when he had a minute, and I'd read him the number over the phone. No problems....ever. My first experience visiting our daughter was a flight in on short notice, and we took a cab from DIA to her office on S Colorado. Cap was full of smoke, seats were worn so badly that I thought we were sitting on the pavement, heat was full on, driver was impossible to understand, got lost, and was most likely high. $100, as I always tip. That's my DIA to Denver "5" experience on a 1 to 100 scale. My wife and I have always had 99+ experiences with Joe. When he's caught in traffic due to an unexpected accident ahead of him, he texts us. All good. Sure he's said it might be 12 minutes and it's been 20, but he's also said it will be 15 and it's been 5, and more often than not, when we're ready to leave, he's been there for 10 minutes waiting. We tend to leave plenty of time, as every flight we fly seems overbooked, we want to be there to get our baggage on the plane, and DIA has some great food options. Sure, AS IS THE CASE WITH ANY DRIVING SERVICE, S**T happens, but Joe's in touch. We were in CO last week, and changed plans twice. We had to cancel our DIA pickup with Joe, and then booked a ride with him to DIA on very short notice. He made it work, and all went smoothly. We had a great beet salad at Root Down, and a great flight back East. This is a SMALL business. Realize that. Joe's a good man. I wish he were in Boston,as we could use him a LOT. Even the best here tend to simply "forget you", or when you call, show up AFTER you've had to leave. A++. Just realize that if YOU don't allow enough time, and traffic issues ensue, that's not your driver's problem. Having driven in every major city in this country, and many abroad, Denver's traffic can be "interesting." Even more so with snow. Joe's our guy in any kind of weather. Joe was great! He arrived early -- as did my flight -- then patiently waited because we got stuck on the ramp because of lightning nearby. Once that passed, we got to our gate ... but then baggage took for-freakin-EV-er (which is why I hate checking bags) Bottom line: I got to the curb more than an hour after our plane landed ... but Joe was there, in good humor, and didn't charge for the extra waiting time (neither of our faults, but many car services do). Joe had bottled water to sip and things to read (if I hadn't wanted to chat), but I was quite happy to talk. He was entertaining and informative on our ride into Denver, and even suggested a way to get to a Rockies game that was going on that night if I'd wanted to go. For just a couple of bucks more than a nasty cab, Total Transportation made me feel welcome and important -- even if Joe was in a Hawaiian shirt and not a dark suit. Based on all the reviews Joe looked like the way to get to the airport for our 8:30 a.m. flight. I've made better choices. Possibly the most unprofessional service ever. I called Joe directly to check his price the morning before our flight. I was told the cost was $65. His price of $65 (watch this number) was comparable to others, and I booked him. He requested I send all my credit card information to him via text message. My friend was a bit queasy about sending all that information via text, but I did it. That turned out to be the least of our problems! Joe told me we needed to be ready by 6:30 a.m. to get to the airport on time. We were waiting out front at 6:15 a.m. 6:30 a.m. rolled by and no sight of Joe. At 6:35 I called Joe. The call went to voicemail. Nervous. I then sent a text message. He called me at 6:37 to say he was about 15 minutes away. At 6:52 I get a text saying 2 minutes. He finally shows up a bit after 7:00!! The Denver airport is 30 - 40 minutes from downtown. I'm very upset. He apologizes profusely, and says his alarm didn't go off. Good thing I called him. He tells me he is going to give me a discount on my credit card. Needless to say, we did not tip him. We get to the airport to find the longest check-in line anyone has ever seen at Denver! It seems the whole town is flying this morning. We barely make it to our gate as the plane is beginning to board. Joe sends me a text telling me he is going to give me a 50% refund. That should be half of $65, right? I check my credit card charges, and I discover he charged me $80!!! I send him a text message to ask why the charge is $80 not the $65 he quoted me. He replies and tells me the $80 includes his tip!! WHAT?? A $15 tip I was not told about when I booked?? That is a 23% tip. I'm a good tipper, but 23%?? For a ride that almost made us miss our plane? To his credit he did issue a full refund of the $80. If Joe is going to run an airport shuttle service, he needs to get a better idea of how to run a business. He is a very nice older gentleman, but this was almost a disaster for us. I suppose everyone screws up once in awhile and oversleeps. I was actually ready to forgive that, but the $80 charge when he quoted me $65 with no mention of the automatic $15 additional tip put me over the top of my patience. If you take the chance on Joe, be sure you call him when you get up in the morning to give him time to get out of bed and arrive on time, and ask about that 23% tip! read more

Reliable, on time, reasonable rates, the whole 9! My wife and I used this car service to bring us to the airport to conclude our honeymoon, and even though we were sad to leave Colorado, Joe made it an enjoyable experience. In NYC we're used to drivers not saying a word, but Joe was so nice, I felt like I had a new friend by the time we got to the airport. Hopefully we'll be back to CO soon and will definitely use them again! read more

Overall ok experience. I booked my trip online a day before my visit. The website was easy to use although it wasn't quite effective. I put in all my info and requested the service around 10am... It said I'd be contacted very shortly and at 4pm, I reached out to them. - on the website I selected my preferred as text.... I only received emails - a credit card # is required to confirm reservation.... Website does not ask for cc# - the emails I did receive were seriously abbreviated and I didn't always understand what it was asking - joe was very friendly and on time, but picks up on the top level of the airport where you normally do departure drop offs... It was not easy to find - joe had his golf clubs in the trunk.. Thankfully I travel light or else that would be a major issue that his clubs took up most of the trunk space - an air freshener for the car wouldn't be a bad thing Possibly if the website could get straightened out it may be easier to schedule and wouldn't cause so many touches for me. I want to reserve the service and be Dione with it, so ask me all the details up front. read more

I booked Joe's shuttle to get to Denver Airport. He was prompt and on time for pick up. The car was neat and clean with some cookies and flowers. My experience was much less than expected. The car was damaged and when I called to see if a driver was available for an extra round trip was informed the driver was tired. (found a taxi willing to do the RT without trouble) Really well below the level of service I expected. Waste of my money. I recommend avoiding them. Price was decent. Car was very clean. Included water - what a plus! They were always on time, helped with baggage. Quality service. If you are looking for a taxi, this by far beats the any service in Denver. Main issue is the lack of a functional website, and receipt service. In order to get the $25 off promotional you need to give Joe your credit card number over the phone, and you never really receive a hard copy of your receipt. The driver who picked us up didn't have it and I needed to contact Joe a couple of times to actually receive a copy of the receipt. Never really received an official itemized receipt either, just a picture of the receipt he drew up at home. It was difficult to get the car reimbursed via my company. However I should note that I had to change my location and times several times the day before my pick-up. Joe was very accommodating and understanding and I was able to get to the airport on time. The fact that you are getting serviced my local professionals, helped us avoid all the traffic to the airport for sure. As a side note, I didn't know Denver had a shuttle from the airport for only $22. Loved the service, but for only a third of the price, I might choose that next time. read more

This is a very delayed review. I am only doing it now because am on the hunt again for a good but not insanely expensive private shuttle service to DIA. We used this company last April and did not have the stellar experience many of the reviewers did. On our way out, we had the understanding he would call or text us to let us know he when he was a few minutes away from our home. Nothing. Started getting nervous and called him. He sounded flustered and apologetic, picked us up about 15 minutes later than pre-arranged time. Granted it was the ungodly hour of 4:45 AM. The car was cleaner than most taxi's but had some trash and half-empty water bottle left over from a prior customer in the back seat and an awful air freshener smell. If you are going to have that then use a neutral universally pleasing scent like cedar or New Car or something. Not the gag-inducing-whatever-it-was. On our return trip pickup was great and very efficient. BUT the gentleman looked absolutely exhausted and he at times swerved toward other lanes of traffic and had trouble keeping his eyes open. Not kidding. It was a bit unnerving. This was around 11:00 at night so possibly a very long day for him. In that case he needs to hire another driver or two, if only for safety reasons. He is a nice older gent but the above incidents made the whole thing less professional and won't be using them again. A couple of other reviewers noted his automatic addition of a tip. He tried that with me too, but at least told me ahead of time before running my credit card. I told him we'll tip in cash AFTER the service is provided. It's not like we were a huge party to take care of with tons of luggage; it was two of us. I don't think it is proper to tip himself before even rendering the service. read more

Ok, here's my story...My VP had a very important last minute meeting in Denver, a fly in and out, and wanted car service to make sure he was there on time. We're located in San Francisco, so, like all of us do, I researched yelp and found a RockStar in Joe in Denver. My VP was flying in on a Friday morning, I called Joe the day before, Thursday eve. He answered,(I so wanted to talk to a live person) and I told him my dilemma, I gave him the basic info, airlines and arrival time. Joe assured me it wouldn't be a problem, he'd get my VP where he needed to be in plenty of time. This is where Joe earned his RockStar status...I was to text the rest of the info, flight #, name of my VP, cell # of my VP, etc, etc...You know the really important stuff. Well, I did text all the info, but when my VP called me that Friday from the airport asking where his car service was, yes, panic set in. I told him to hold on, I'd call him right back. I looked at the # I used to text...I used the WRONG NUMBER!!! I found the correct # and called Joe. Get this, Joe was at the airport, waiting!! He went on good faith, knowing I would realize my mistake and call him. He told me where to have my VP meet him and they'd be on their way. WHO does that in this time? He was even willing to take the fall for me and my brainf&$t :) What a Sweetheart! But I fessed up to my VP, if he wasn't such an understanding guy, I may have taken Joe up on his offer ;-D Joe even sent me a text when they got to their destination, Whew! His cars are very comfortable and the back seats even have seat warmers (great in the winter)! He takes great pride in what he does and adds that personal touch whenever possible. Very pleasant experience. Although communication through the website was slow (I received my quote only after my second request), transportation itself was perfect. I got a confirmation text one day before flying to DIA. Arriving at the gate, I received another text message from our driver Sam, introducing himself and letting us know where to meet him. He helped us with our bags, and while driving us to our destination, talked about the city and the area without being intrusive. The SUV we had requested was impeccable as well as Sam's driving. Same with the return trip to DIA: a text the night before our flight confirming pick-up. Sam arrived on time and got us safe to the airport. I would not hesitate to request Joe's / Sam's services again, even though I wished billing was clearer: the quote mentions one amount plus toll plus tip - which leaves you guessing what you will be charged in the end. The dispatcher was super friendly and nice. They said they would txt me on pick up location/driver. They did not. I had to call them which was fine The car was dirty and hot upon arrival. I chose not to use them for the return with plenty of notice. It took them a week to process the $ return and and they charged me a 40% tip without my approval. When I called to ask about it, "JOE" proceeded to tell me it was "fair" and he didn't have time to deal with me. I apparently was in interruption to his day. WOW! My 77yo mother is technologically challenged, and was flying in and out of Denver from Michigan during a very snowy period. Joe made sure that he was at the airport on time to pick her up, found her when she was having trouble with cell phone service, and then delivered her easily to her destination. For Mom's return, Joe notified her in advance about needing an earlier pick-up time to avoid weather delays. He kept her well-informed throughout the process and she made her flight without having to rush. He also kept me in the loop so that I could confirm everything with her.
