They had a pretty decent selection of beers available, and I was impressed that you could get pretty much any type of beer as a singleton (versus having to buy a 4 pack or whatever). I did feel like the refrigerated section could have been a bit larger, but they did have a few good choices in there. They had a big selection of beers available on tap, and while I didn't partake this time, I was kind of tempted by the quadrupel :) The bartender was nice and helpful throughout my visit. Overall, if you're in the area, this seems like a nice place to stop and grab a beer. I've seen slightly better selection of beers elsewhere, but I do think you could find something you like here :)

And he walked all the way out to my car across the parking lot to retrieve the cart I was leaving. He was friendly and cared about my choices and escorted me to the proper area to find what I needed when I asked for help. One person was scary as he had no welcoming attitude and a fierce look. That particular man would be the only reason I might not go back. If I am an employer I would wonder if he was having a bad day, or just looks unwelcoming at all times? The store was quite pleasant and sizable inside. To get any deals you had to sign up with their rewards program, which I couldn't figure out how to do during my hurried visit. Thus, the prices that I found were on the higher side, but I got a lot of vegetables and fruits of quality ranging from good to marginal and a few niche special dietary items like banana milk. There was only one person working a register so I ended up finding the self-checkout, which worked out fine.

All of the shelves are 4-feet high so that employees can keep a keen eye on customers. So, if you are thinking about stuffing a gallon of Jim Beam down your pants, you might want to think twice! Compared to state-run stores that I am familiar with in both Virginia and Pennsylvania, this one offers little in terms of selection. Sure, they have all of the basic liquor that most people would ever want. However, in comparison, the state-run stores in Pennsylvania have extensive selections - I used to browse the isles looking for something new, something different. If that is your thing, you will most certainly be disappointed in this NC store. Odd location, ghetto interior, pretty light when it comes to "expanded offerings" - but if your looking for alcohol, I guess this place will have to do - it is the only legal way to buy it in North Carolina. I just love government run operations!

The bartender, Craig, was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. My husband got a beer flight. He really enjoyed it. The cost was very reasonable. They also have daily specials. The floral arrangements are plentiful and then right behind that is a large area where you can sit at a bar area and actually order a beer and watch TV plus sit at tables and have charcuterie type of food or get other food and just sit and relax while other people are grocery shopping. They also have lots of samples they give out. It's quite the set up more than just a grocery store. The aisles are spacious and the selection is really nice in the store. What I really love about HT is the brand awareness. For instance, if you like Chobani creamer - they carry almost every flavor. This is my go to store for many brands I'm particular about. I can't say that about all the stores in the area.
