Worst place to shop at in the Town of Apex. You have managers yelling at Customers. Specifically Erin, should be fired if she worked for me and yelled at my customers she would be jobless. Harris teeter needs to do a better job at hiring managers. Customer service means treating people with respect not yelling at them or having a bad attitude. Erin word of advice you pick where you apply to work if you don't know how to talk to people don't work in customer service. My family spends a lot of money at this store but after what we witnessed on Easter Sunday never again will we shop at Harris Teeter again. read more

I ventured off my usual beaten path and decided to shop at this Harris Teeter. My expectations were high because this Harris Teeter's outside facade and nearby restaurants and shops make it look prestigious and classy. Well....NOPE! First of all, not one single employee (with the exception of the cashier) that I passed while shopping didn't say hello, make eye contact, give me a nod, NOTHING! I've been in other Harris Teeter stores and the employees will always ask, "Hi, how are you, are you finding everything okay?" It was so bad at this Harris Teeter, the employees wouldn't even move aside when going down the aisles. For example, I'd be looking at a product (push my cart to the side and go look at the products) and they would walk right in front of me. What am I expecting? A simple, "Hi", or "Excuse me" or anything! Especially when employees are stocking the produce, or other aisles. Unfortunately, which the store cannot help, well maybe they could if they were nicer, the customers were equally awful. It's like the whole store is full of Zombies. So disappointing. Thursday, 5:30pm. Busy time and lady at deli counter ignored me until I decided to give up and walk. I should not have to ask for help when I am the only customer at the counter. Then, the self checkout lines were long, and only two manned registers. Again, 5:30pm, a busy time. Two managers approached me and directed me to a check out line. How about instead of telling me which line to get in you actually get behind a register and open it up to move people along? We stop by this Harris Teeter location occasionally. In the past, we always appreciated- and often took advantage of - the fresh hot deli rotisserie chickens, that would be on sale for $4.99 each on Sundays. However, when I went there today (Sun 8/21), I was disappointed to see this special no longer seems to be offered? Not a huge deal, in the grand scheme of things, but still a bit disappointed- especially since grocery prices are so much on the rise these days in general. Guess I'll be sticking to Costco for rotisserie chickens from now on, where you get a much better chicken for a more reasonable price. read more

I am indeed a fan of this Harris Teeter! It's clean, bright and friendly, and it's not very crowded on weekend mornings. The vegetables and fruit in the produce section are usually very fresh. The prices are a bit higher (and sometimes a lot higher!) than at Food Lion or Wal-Mart, so I take advantage of their VIC card deals. I'll spend a little extra at their seafood and meat departments, though, because I have confidence in the freshness. Finally, it's always fun to walk through the wine/beer aisle. You never know what you'll find, and the VIC sales are good there, too! read more

I love this store. People are super friendly and always asking if I need help. So opposite that at Lowes across the street!!!! We've boycotted them for close to 2 years now. They never say hello, thank you, goodbye, can I help you, OR apologize for their mistakes. Rude. So rude. Makes me appreciate Walgreens when I walk in their door and immediately get a friendly greeting! HT is very good with customer service and so friendly!! A little crowded in the back when stocking but that is not something that can be totally avoided. Could rearrange the milk juice corner perhaps. Pre-order and curb service rocks too!!! Used at the holiday time and was great! Prices are a bit higher than food lion but I pay for convenience sometimes. And know their fresh made deli stuff is well worth it! Love my HT! read more

I've been a Harris Teeter customer for 20 years, and this store is nothing like the others I've visited. Upon first inspection, it looks great...clean, bright, smiling faces. However, that's the best things I can say about this store. The shelves are consistently unstocked, and you might as well forget finding the items on sale. They are never on the shelves, and for that matter, the sale items may not even be in the system to give you the discount you are hoping for. We literally just bought three items that weren't in the system and had to bring it up to the cashier to get the discount. That was a difference of about $10. TEN DOLLARS! Now, I wonder how many times I didn't check the prices and got ripped off. The produce section is sub par as well. It's not pleasing to have to go through four bags of brussel sprouts to find an acceptable one or to pick through the spotty citrus to bring home some fruit. The meat selection is as thin as the steak cuts they offer, and the flowers...wow. The wine section is alright, but I have seen a Teeter or two with a much better selection. I typically stop at the store in Durham on my way home rather than suffer this one, but I tend to suck it up on the weekends and realize I have to grin and bear it since it's the only one I'm close to around here. Not a fan of Lowe's Foods, but I'm seriously thinking about checking out Publix when it comes to Cary at the end of the month. read more

This is by far the worst Harris Teeter in the company. Employees are too task oriented to help, They don't even make eye contact. One register open and a line back into the aisle while two managers talked in the office. I asked them to open another register and neither even looked at me. Another customer asked a third manager who was walking across the front to open another one and she took him right away, ignoring the rest of us that had been waiting in line. I left my cart there and will not be back, they are to many choices for groceries for me to put up with this. read more

Today my wife and I went shopping at your store around 1pm and our shopping experience was great as always until we went to check out. Drew was out cashier and he did an outstanding job and was VERY friendly interacting with us. Our bad experience came when Jack the manager came over to help package the items we bought and did not acknowledge us at ALL when we said hello, no only once, twice and three times. He did not say a word which was VERY rude. In fact when we were exiting the store he was coming the opposite way and made a U-turn to avoid us. This person should not be interacting with the public especially if he has no social skills. The rest of the staff has always been friendly and helpful. In fact the guys in the produce dept helped us shuck corn and as we were walking to the back of the store, Michelle who we assume was a manager greeted us and asked how we were doing. I really do not recommend Harris Teeter's online ordering during this COVID-19 crisis. I placed my order on a Tuesday afternoon and the first available slot for pick up was Sunday at 7:00 pm. After waiting that long I got a call Sunday evening to tell me that about 22 items, from my list of 28, were not available! Don't bother ordering from them. read more

This store used to be great. When Mark was the store mgr there, everything was organized and clean. Produce was fresh and high quality. Not sure what happened but now it's common place to find disorganization in the aisles, the front end and Customer Service area cluttered, and rotten and/or moldy produce. My spouse and I have been Harris teeter customers since the store in Apex Peakway opened; my wife has been a customer of HT exclusively when she lived in Cary for 20 years. We used to find about anything we wanted for food and the pharmacy had very rarely been "Backordered" on our medications. The management, and the cashiers used to greet us by name since we usually shopped there two to five times a week. We actually looked forward to seeing our "friends" when we shopped our closest grocers. HT used to have extremely good perks related to the VIC card, and HT seemed to recognize, and be extra grateful for the dedication of the shoppers in our HT store. Then came KROGER, a store we had both avoided since we decided they were disorganized, cluttered, dirty, and the management unfriendly. This decision was based on two to three stores in the Apex, Cary, and Morrisville area when we shopped them. I cannot blame the Teeters for selling the local icon name and stores to Kroger at the 2.5 billion or so they were paid. It did not take long for the store inventory to dwindle, the produce to start looking old, the aisles to become confusing because they have moved "sale items" into carts placed in aisles and rows by the pharmacy. We now have to check expiration dates on every item because we continually find expired items in about every department, including dairy with yogurt long expired right on the shelf. This is particularly true when the shelf "happens" to be stocked with product. I mean really!-Baked beans next to candy corns and yard items randomly placed on the shelves in the pharmacy area. Now we are sometimes elated to actually find what we went into the store to restock supplies in our home. This is especially true when it is not out dated, and purposely put on the shelf with a short shelf life left. The management has changed for the worse. Mark and his department managers went out of their way to assist everyone they could, as a team they could not be better suited to their positions. Now the management is very unfriendly, rude, and seems to think they are the only grocer and pharmacy in the area. Look around Kroger and people, PUBLIX will soon open on Olive Chapel Road. You may be very lonesome when that occurs. We did not have a high regard for Publix either, but they seemed to have cleaned up their customer service appearance after spreading out from Florida to us in NC. Now for the pharmacy. Regardless of how good the pharmacist is and how well liked they are by customers, the central supply depot alienates customers by holding back the medications to send to other stores. This pharmacy, or rather the business model, and procedures, the pharmacists have to follow now seems bent on running off any stable and consistent customers. The constant BACKORDER (caused by Kroger policies) borders on criminal when it comes to denying medications that are monthly replenishments and have been for over 10 years. The routine order or special orders are rejected, or put aside, by the central Kroger distributor, or our pharmacist is "TOLD" to send it back to the distribution center. They have not figured out (or they do not care) this is a hardship on people that need the medications and may cause setbacks because of the extra wait times, or making the customer travel around to other pharmacies that have the product. Amazingly the competitor that has the product lets out there is no backorder situation from the available supply from the same manufacturer. Hopefully the Publix will open and care about their customers before the store gets someone deathly ill. read more

It's a good grocery store with a very good selection of items, decent specials (with their loyalty card) and a reasonably attractive and comfortable store. It's also a 24-hour location, which is really convenient. The one thing that keeps it from getting five stars (and actually, the main reason I've been shopping more at the remodeled Lowe's Foods across the street lately) is that management, somehow, just can't handle customer lines at this store- and it's been a multi-year problem, and I'm tired of it. Sunday afternoon, busy, crowded store? You'll wait in line a lot for want of a cashier (I've waited in line for 15-20 minutes before at these times- half the registers are open, while multiple employees are walking around checking dog food inventory, laughing with each other in the back, etc.). Monday morning at 10 am? There will be one register open, and you'll wait in line a lot for want of a cashier. You pick the day and time, I'll predict with astonishing accuracy that you'll wait in a far longer line than the current customer load would ordinarily suggest you would. And my sense is that all the employees and management remain semi-permanently oblivious to the problem; no one cares, plain and simple. So yeah, I still shop there, but not as much as I used to. I've gotten used to the sense of feeling myself physically aging in the check-out line, too. read more

The women's restrooms always smell like the sewer is backed up, and there is some moldy looking stuff on the water pipes next to the sink. I remember when Harris Teeter used to be a high end grocery store that made you feel valued as a customer. It made grocery shopping almost a pleasant experience, and I was willing to pay more for the general aesthetics, variety and courtesy. Not at this location! When I consider how much I spend on groceries per year for our family ($12,000+) and how many times in a given month I visit this store (8 maybe?), I would expect SOMEONE/ANYONE to greet me, and maybe one day even recognize me. After 10 years, and what, 1,000 visits?, I have officially given up on this store. I completely echo the other reviewers comments about the pitiful produce, the empty store shelves, and the understaffed deli. Thankfully Costco is now in the area, and I already feel like a welcome customer every time I enter the store. I'll drive the 5 miles to the Harris Teeter in Cary (High House/Cornerstone) when I need regular grocery items. THAT is how a Harris Teeter is supposed to operate! read more
