Actually unbelievable how horrible my experience was. I was just enjoying a nice day with my girlfriend when the cashier was abnoxiously rude to my girlfriend. She shoved the alcohol into her armpit and yelled at us to get out of the store because my girlfriend was 20... even though I was 23. At this point I didn't want the alcohol anymore because it was deep in her stinky arm pits. I decided to go to ABC liquor instead. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. read more

As far as Total Wine stores go this is not a favorite location. The main reason is the craft beer aisle are a hodge podge and not as well planned as many other locations. They also had many IPA's and Double IPA's that were well out of date. Now that may be because the surrounding area doesn't have a taste for such hoppy beers but if that's the case the store should not order / keep them around so long. There is nothing better than a fresh IPA and nothing worse than an old one that is just bitter with no hop aroma. But overall if you're in the area and want to have a variety check them out just keep your eyes on the bottle date for certain beer styles. read more

You want beer variety? Total Wine has it...... from singles to odd 6-Packs and including kegs they seem to cover it all. Need a handful of .99 shot bottles? They have racks and racks of them. I had the worst customer experience at your Lakewood Ranch Sarasota store. Linda and your store manager Rodney are not helpful. I am a rewards member and I shop at your store exclusively for all our wine. I came in today for one $50 bottle of wine for my husband and to use your $7 off $34.99 or more. At checkout Linda had a bad attitude to begin with. Then I was told my coupon was only for winery direct wine by your manager. I had no idea what that meant. So I had to get out of line and wait in a long line a second time. Why he couldn't honor my coupon instead of letting a huge 20 person deep line form behind me is beyond me. Target and other top notch stores do this. After I went to get the right bottle for the coupon, A customer in front of me had a similar issue with the coupon and again Linda had a poor attitude toward him and kept repeating how she doesn't know any of the coupons that are currently out. How your staff aren't aware of what coupons are current blows my mind! How about posting them or training your staff? I'm beyond frustrated bc it took over 30 minutes to buy one bottle of wine. Why don't your managers have the ability to honor reward members coupons without a coupon? Why did I have to get out of line and wait again? Why was I treated poorly when I'm a reward customer who spend at least $100/wrk at your store? Due to this experience I may buy all my wine at Costco from now on. read more

We LOVE Total Wine, especially this location. My family and I shop here and stock up on all kinds of delicious craft beers and our favorite wines. Erica, the wine manager is so helpful. She went above and beyond to help me locate multiple cases of wine that I needed last minute. I really appreciate the staff, their knowledge on the products they sell and the time they spend with their customers. It goes a long way and keeps my family and I coming back. I love this place - I visit SRQ about 4-5 times a year since I have very close friends who live in Sarasota/Lido Key. This is a must stop for me every time I come to visit...their selection is great, prices are fantastic, they've even increased their selection of beers, service is friendly, people are generally knowledgeable about the locations of their items in the store as well as wine regions, aisles are spacious, brightly lit... I have to knock them down a star for the fact that it's generally very warm in the store and every time I buy wine, I leave with semi-warm wine. I know it's expensive, but they really should drop the temperature of the store a few degrees which would be much better for the wine...which is their focus product obviously. The Sarasota location of the Total Wine chain just opened, and it's a very nice addition to the area. The prices are very competitive. The store carries everything from lower end domestic wines to trophy bottles, sorted by countries, regions and varietals. The place even has an aisle with recommended wines for a specific mood or occasion, a nice touch for those who are not necessarily knowledgeable but want to buy the right bottle. There is also a decent beer and spirits section, and weekly tastings. read more

Total Wine has a massive selection of microbrews, hard to get liquors, and some of the best prices in the area. One of my favorite things about about Total Wine is that they always have some wines and champagnes to taste. On the weekends, you can count on there being at least 1 or 2 other liquors or beers to try. I am a grappa drinker and they have at least 6 different varieties of grappa, compared to your average liquor store that *may* carry one or two. Total Wine added a rewards program this year and it hasn't really paid off too much, but we will see how it goes throughout the year and the coupons that get sent, based on your total purchase history. I find myself here wondering around like a kid at Disney World! I could spend hours looking at the different bottles and brands! I'm a huge fan of tequila and buy and try new and old favorites. They usually have everything I'm looking for in stock. I'm not a big wine drinker but like having several bottles on hand for friends and family and Total Wine makes it easy to do just that. They also have a huge selection of mixers and accoutrements to keep a proper home bar stocked. Staff has always been friendly and always helpful finding things you are looking for! My favorite place to shop for the best wines or unique beers! The sheer size and supply seems overwhelming at first, but the staff is very helpful and friendly. If one pays attention, there are great deals to be had as well! I have found some great deals on Cabernet Sauvignons, Pinot Noirs, and other wines. It's also got a great beer selection and as a result, I have tried some I didn't know about and found some I had been wanting to try, too. Check it out if there's one near you! read more

Some lady there tried to sell me on the idea that a 3 liter box of Chardonnay for 10.99 was the most economical way to get drunk. There were bottles of it for 2.97. I'm not sure where she got her math skills from but I'm pretty sure 3 one liter bottles @ 2.97 is a better deal that the one 3 liter box for 10.99. Nate, Saharr and I believe Rodney were fantastic and saved the day after an epic DoorDash delivery fail. I had arranged for a large delivery of items and Total Wine & More leveraged DoorDash to do the delivery. The delivery person dropped off the wrong order- a $60 box of Papst Hard Coffee and Prosecco vs the $216 worth of items ordered and the name/address were for someone in another part of town. The DoorDash mgmt and driver were basically "not our problem" with me as well as Total Wine & More team even though the DoorDash driver clearly misdelivered. The Total Wine &More crew went out of their way to call me with updates in their quest to get the driver to correct the delivery. At this point Driver stopped taking their calls so the Total Wine team repicked my order and the manager delivered the order. They basically felt that while the issue was caused by Door Dash driver it was still their responsibility to address their customers needs. That is a good team! Got a keg for my wedding here and when I went to return the keg, tap and tub, they would not give me my deposit back without the original receipt. No one told me that I would need the receipt, and I didn't think it was needed. The associate was a complete jerk about the whole situation, but agreed to give me a gift card for the amount. I mean really, they knew it was their keg, tap and tub, what did they think, I stole one from somebody and was trying to get a free deposit? I now have a 125.00 gift card from a place I won't ever go back to. read more

We went here a couple of years ago to purchase wines and bubbles for our wedding and they worked with us on selection and pricing and also had some great feedback on quantity of alcohol per person and per type (red vs wine). When I made an inquiry about a particular item, the woman to whom I spoke, upon seeing my ID, was very rude and pointed me to another location. The manager was equally belligerent to me.
