The image showed on Total Wine's site, the app said it was in stock. When I arrived, it was the old image with the new version of the Garden Spritz. Staff took the time to investigate and follow up with my inquiry. I appreciate the service and engagement I have and receive with each visit. This is my sister's favorite spot for wines and spirits. There are two in San Jose and she goes all of the time. Unfortunately, it's not near where she lives so I didn't get to visit. But, I fell in love with this place when I visited one in Tacoma, WA. I ordered some bubbly and then I went to a location in their mall and was mightily impressed. This place is nice and it has everything. I was in my feels because this is the type of place that you find in suburban monied areas, like TJs. But like TJs, they also made their way to Emeryville which is good. This place does not have as much Cider as I'd like, but they have so much of everything else. We came in and I got a couple of bottles of wine and walked away satisfied with my haul. My hubby was looking for something and they didn't have it. The guy helping us looked the item up online and said that they'd try to get it. What?!? I hope they last longer than the other places that have occupied this space. I wish them a long time here and hope that the Toys R Us curse has been finally broken. read more

The Emeryville Total Wine is a huge location, just make sure to bring your ID if you're purchasing alcohol. There is plenty of parking available and the store is super clean. Prices are comparable to Bevmo. The staff or manager who explained the tasting experience was very friendly and welcoming. It was exciting to hear that a new store had opened at the East Bay Bridge shopping center in Emeryville at the former Decathlon and Toys R Us location. To make local area residents aware of this new location, they sent discount flyers with various discount amounts. I took advantage of the $100 off a $250 purchase and picked up some nice bottles of cabernet sauvignons. Workers are friendly and asking if you need any assistance. I am a fan of Total Wines with prices comparable or better than the warehouse store and better than the other big box competitor. I am happy that a location is a lot closer to me. read more

The only store in the Bay Area that I know that stocks Cruzan Blackstrap Rum. I used to have to drive over to Colma/Daly City for it so was happy when TW opened in Emeryville. Giving them 2 stars and that is because they have helpful customer service agents via the 1-800 number. I know they're helpful because I've called them a few times. Love that they have a delivery option but they don't seem to care if they give you the correct order at all. Today they gave me the order of a different person, last time they only delivered one third of my order and forgot to give the driver about $200 in merch. I think I've only received the correct items one time so I guess shame on me for continuing to order delivery thinking they'll eventually get it right. read more

I wish their shitty app worked the way it was supposed to, but it doesn't. It's slow and confusing and impossible to navigate. And it won't let you set a delivery address, but defaults to your mailing address, which may not be appropriate for a delivery of alcoholic beverages. I'm not sure who designed their app or maintains it, but they need to step up. It was my first time at this location and I love total wine but will not be returning to this location due to the rude delivery of the information. Fantastic store! I love the one in Pleasant Hill as well, but the Emeryville store is much closer to us. I called ahead and the person I spoke with confirmed that they had an ample supply of what I was looking for in stock. When I arrived, one of the clerks asked if I needed help, then led me to the item. I did not have time to linger, although I will most certainly do so on future visits, so it was great to know one can get in and out quickly if necessary. However, I have been there four times since it opened and I always like to buy 2 boxes of Fever Tree Light Tonic 8 X 16.9 Fl oz, about once every 4-6 weeks. But, on all four occasions they were unable to supply these. I was told today by assistant to contact "management". So I tried that and they said it could be special ordered for me.
