The universe knows exactly what its doing because Kiphanie was pouring up a few champagnes. Her recommendations were incredible! The Emeryville Total Wine is a huge location, just make sure to bring your ID if you're purchasing alcohol. There is plenty of parking available and the store is super clean. Prices are comparable to Bevmo. The staff or manager who explained the tasting experience was very friendly and welcoming. We had trouble finding a specific liquor but the staff explained it with detail and made sure we were able to locate it. read more

This is my sister's favorite spot for wines and spirits. There are two in San Jose and she goes all of the time. Unfortunately, it's not near where she lives so I didn't get to visit. This place is nice and it has everything. I was in my feels because this is the type of place that you find in suburban monied areas, like TJs. But like TJs, they also made their way to Emeryville which is good. This place does not have as much Cider as I'd like, but they have so much of everything else. We came in and I got a couple of bottles of wine and walked away satisfied with my haul. My hubby was looking for something and they didn't have it. The guy helping us looked the item up online and said that they'd try to get it. What?!? I hope they last longer than the other places that have occupied this space. Giving them 2 stars and that is because they have helpful customer service agents via the 1-800 number. I know they're helpful because I've called them a few times. Love that they have a delivery option but they don't seem to care if they give you the correct order at all. Today they gave me the order of a different person, last time they only delivered one third of my order and forgot to give the driver about $200 in merch. Total Wines is my go to store for wine, spirits and beer. The nearest location for me were in Pleasanton and San Ramon. It was exciting to hear that a new store had opened at the East Bay Bridge shopping center in Emeryville at the former Decathlon and Toys R Us location. To make local area residents aware of this new location, they sent discount flyers with various discount amounts. I took advantage of the $100 off a $250 purchase and picked up some nice bottles of cabernet sauvignons. Workers are friendly and asking if you need any assistance. I am a fan of Total Wines with prices comparable or better than the warehouse store and better than the other big box competitor. I am happy that a location is a lot closer to me. read more

I am glad I did not allow earlier reviews to deter me from visiting this location. I have been awaiting the opening of Total Wine in Emeryville. Pleasant Hill is closer to my residence, but I find myself in the Emeryville-ish area more frequently. Shopping in the Emeryville location presented the same experience I have when I shop Pleasant Hill. Staff are usually friendly, asking if I need assistance or sharing their favorite brand or type of spirit/wine. I did not have anyone following me closely or interfere with my browsing. I shopped for the selection I went for and added two recommendations from staff to my checkout. Total Wine will definitely see a lot more of me now that this location is here and open. It is in the same shopping plaza court as Michael's, a few steps away. I really enjoyed my experience and appreciate the vast array of options than that of Bev Mo. read more

I called ahead and the person I spoke with confirmed that they had an ample supply of what I was looking for in stock. When I arrived, one of the clerks asked if I needed help, then led me to the item. I did not have time to linger, although I will most certainly do so on future visits, so it was great to know one can get in and out quickly if necessary. Having been a regular customer of total wine for years and a regular visitor to the Pleasant Hill store. I was very glad that a store opened in Emeryville. However, I have been there four times since it opened and I always like to buy 2 boxes of Fever Tree Light Tonic 8 X 16.9 Fl oz, about once every 4-6 weeks. But, on all four occasions they were unable to supply these. I was told today by assistant to contact "management". So I tried that and they said it could be special ordered for me.
