Quality/Quantity - Got a few cases of beer, as drinking the WHOLE day in a few wineries and breweries was not enough.... Atmosphere - A block away from our Rosenblum winery, so very convenient for us. Open 7 days a week from 9am to 8, 9 or 10pm. See Yelp or website. Parking across the street with a security guard. This might actually be the worst BevMo ever in terms of customer service. The store itself is OK and generally well stocked. Except for the cheese section, apparently, they sort of gave up on that a couple of years ago. The staff is so unhelpful, I just witnessed the checker berating a customer, because she neglected to ring up his last and final large item. She flat out said "it's not my job" to him - all while she was multitasking and chatting on her phone to her friend. Insane. I was afraid to go through her line but she was the only one there - she was nice enough to us. Clearly she was having a bad day and some drama happening on the other end of her cell phone. They also don't seem to have any baskets are carts, which is super annoying when you're shopping. horrible shady store! Ordered a bottle of Stagg at 9:43pm on 8/13 and got confirmation at 9:07 am on 8/14 that my order was ready for pickup. Then at 8:10am on 8/15 my order was cancelled! How is that even possible?! Someone had to pack the order and then mark it as ready so it should have been there. And the next day they just happened to be checking all of their fulfilled orders that are bagged and sealed and noticed that mine wasn't there anymore? Sounds to me like one of their employees saw there was a heavily allocated bottle that they wanted for themselves or for a friend, took it and cancelled the order. Bevmo - my go to place for judgment free alcohol purchases in bulk. Tired of that friendly but annoying lady at Safeway bagging your groceries saying "back for more beer again?" in a shocked voice.... well, no need to deal with that come here were adult beverage enthusiasts unite. Very nice location convenient to many other popular points of interest. Store has variety - anything you could ever want as any bevmo - but this location happens to be larger than some. Its good to go into a store like this when you aren't running dangerously low on any alcohol at home - gives more time to browse and you don't have to focus on 'necessities.' I remember once at a friends house drinking something like a Guinnes but from Japan. Next time I'm around I'm sure a helpful person there will help me find what I'm looking for. read more

Aww man, I had a good experience here. I was shopping for my friends 40th surprise birthday party. I wanted to buy a nice whiskey for us to sip on before dinner. It was nice that several customers offered me recommendations. And, the "bevologist" that helped me was super knowledgeable. He showed me several different options and seemed super patient every time I asked him a question. Even when he didn't know much about cigars he gave me a recommendation based on what customers always seem to purchase. This to me is excellent customer service - when you don't know the answer to a question you ensure that you find out the answer and/or you provide another helpful resource. You don't just say, "I'm not sure..." or "I don't know..." The cashier was also very kind. He wasn't in a stinky mood and when he wasn't sure about something he asked for help and apologized for any inconvenience. Parking was convenient - it's just across the street (they have a BevMo lot). I purchased $70 worth of stuff. Way more money than I intended on spending. I got a gift set of whiskey for $20, two cigars for $11 each, and a bottle of Jameson for $20. We had a great time that night! So, it was worth it! Thanks BevMo staff! This is a 1-star review for Bevmo, not GoPuff which resides inside Bevmo. In summary, the Bevmo staffs are incredibly lazy--making me do their job for them! I came to pick up a GoPuff order at the dedicated order pick-up station. Behind the cashier, there were at least 3 people hiding behind the partition talking loudly about their personal lives. In the meantime, there was a long line with only 1 person at the cashier. I called out to them for pick-up order assistance--I was ignored. A super tall guy was either avoiding eye contact or pretending to look at the cashier far behind me. I called out for the second time, ignored again. The third time, finally, the guy took notice and asked one of the female staffs for help. The lady told me to go get my order at the back with the double-red doors. Uhh no? I went to the back anyways and met a sign that stated along the lines, "Employees Only" behind the storage room. Apparently, the Bevmo staff told me to DO THEIR JOB that were paid to do! Normally Bevmo staff were supposed to grab the order for me while I'm waiting at the pick-up station. Luckily I found a GoPuff staff in the aisle to help me grab someone inside the storage room. A GoPuff lady was super welcome and friendly--a completely different vibe from Bevmo staff earlier! I felt that she saw me as a person, not just a typical customer. She made my day a lot better. Looking at the past reviews, it's very true that some Bevmo staffs here does NOT want to do their job. Rather, they want to have customers do the basic job for them. This is ridiculous. read more

I went in today and had a coupon for $15 off of $100 purchase and when i got to the cashier I was immediately met with her attitude. I gave her my phone number that i knew with 100% certainty was my only number for my Bevmo account and she kept telling me it didnt work and thats when the explosion of her screaming at me, telling me my coupon was no good, even though the coupon sale started one day ago. I asked her to ask her manager to do something and she again started screaming at me that he wont do nothing. Well guess what? This is without a doubt, the biggest Bev-Mo I've ever been in. It's located in Jack London Square right across the street from the big parking garage. But they have their own small private parking lot next to the store. Hard to find beer and wine can be found here, (Beer for me), cause they have room for everything. If you make large purchases, they will put your items in a box for easier carrying. There prices, well, they range from standard to kinda pricey, and the service is just average. OK so the no shopping carts thing I learned from. You order online and drive to the pick-up for them to walk out to your car. Drove up, parked. Checked in on the BevMo app. And waited. Waited. Customers were going in the front door, customers were going out. There was no long line, no one really there. After 20 minutes I went into the store and there were a bunch of BevMo employees arguing amongst themselves. All of them were up front by the register, just talking. This is one of the smaller stores in the area which was shocking upon this return visit, however, I used to hangout when it was the only BevMo in the area. I rarely bought food here, but came for the wine. They had fanstatic sales and I could find harder to find liquor regularly. I liked that! This store feel quite cramped compared to the Pinole, Emeryville, and Albany locations. I went to see what cider's they were carrying and I saw that a huge part of the floor was uncovered. It was strange, because there was no indication that they were going to fill it up with anything. The beer/cider section is much smaller than it used to be and I wondered about that. Really poor customer service. An in-store mistake was made but rather than dealing with it, the assistant manager pushed me off on corporate. It was very simple but has now become very complicated. The error still has not been corrected, more than 24 hours has passed. The ONLY reason they get a two star review is because the cashier was very nice and tried to correct the problem immediately. Management has been very slow. I'm very patient, even more so because of the pandemic. This issue isn't because of Covid, this is just a case of really poor customer service. I like this BevMo. It's super close to my neighborhood and right next to a bunch of great stores. Also next to it is the Jack London Ferry where you can book and board. It is located right on the main street in Jack London square where the train crosses the road. Every so often the freight trains and Amtrak will come blaring their horns and lock you at the stop sign for A while but it's nice to watch, unless you happen to be in a rush then it can be annoying. This BevMo has their own parking lot. The size is not super large but they still manage to keep everything on hand. Even if it is not stocked, just ask an employee for assistance they will check the inventory and they seem to always have everything extra in the back also. Super friendly service and extra cautious and sanitary every since Covid has arrived. FYI tip not all stores mainly here, if you forget your coupon they will honor it anyways because their store WiFi service is horrible. And sometimes they let you break your order in half depending on how much you are buying and you can use the 10$ off coupon twice but only SOMETIMES! . read more

Lets start with their biggest problem, their prices are almost exactly 20% higher than Total Wine. If there was a total wine within 15 miles of Oakland, this store would be out of business in 24 hours. BevMo does price match with local stores but only on one item per order, which is so nonsensical I don't know where to begin. Items are often mispriced or mislabeled and no one seems to care. The staff there does seem like they are trying to do their best but they are understaffed and dealing with an inferior product offering. After many many years of shopping at local BevMo's, I think I'm giving up and driving the extra distance to a store who respects and is willing to compete for my business. read more

This location is a behemoth that sells everything and anything you could possibly need or want and at a pretty great price. They literally stock any type of wine, liquor, beer, moonshine; they have it all. Not only do the carry pretty much any alcohol you may need, but just about anything that goes with it. Mixers, beer pong sets, birthday cards, cheese, crackers, salami, chocolates, candy, chips, salsa, queso. ANYTHING. I'm sure if you thought of something and they didn't have it, they'd make sure to stock it. Although BevMo is a huge chain they do stock indie enabling you still can shop local. This Bev Mo is huge! Never been to this one before and they have a great selection. Even found my favorite Malbec which I couldn't find in other Bev Mo. They also have the forty seven monkey gin which is brewed in Germany. Expensive but probably the best gin I have had, better than Hendricks or tanqueray. Anyway, they have cheese and crackers , chips, charcuterie, chocolates, travel size of your liquor choice. They also have a separate section of just beer selections.
