I primarily visit the Copperfield location but I was in Willowbrook for dinner so I stopped at this one instead. Store packed with fellow liquor enthusiasts stocking up for NYE. I went Friday night and still need to go to Copperfield for something this location doesn't carry! It was a mad house so I really don't want to go Saturday which is actually NYE. Even still, I had a couple nice ladies ask if I needed help finding anything and one gentleman that halfway helped me but it was obvious that he did not want to. You can order for pickup online but I like to peruse for new libations so I add what I know I want in my cart then find it in the store since the website posts where items are located. Very disappointed in their service. I ordered ahead of time for my sister in laws birthday. A special basket with variety of wines. Picked Wednesday December 10, for delivery between 6:00-8:00 p.m. I was receiving text messages the evening of the delivery. It was saying they were on their way and tracking driver. Then when I checked at 8:45 p.m., I received a message that they were unable to make delivery. My brother was also receiving these same messages. He ended up calling the local store & asking why delivery was not made, that they have been home all evening & no one person attempted delivery. He told them he has cameras & no one showed up. The store then agreed to make delivery the following night on Thursday. Again, no attempt to deliver was made. I received an email stating they could not resend. I called their 1-800 customer service. I asked why they could not just resend order. Not knowing my brother had been talking with them as well, I was told order needed to be canceled & then reordered. I questioned why that was necessary & why could they not just resend. So customer service canceled order, I got online to reorder & was given a message that the basket is ordered was no longer in stock. I called back to customer service & they said I would need to contact the store. Little did I know that my brother had stopped by the store & was told I canceled the order. That's when I found out all the crap he had gone through and he found out that I was told that I needed to cancel & reorder. So customer service transferred me to the store in which I questioned where was the basket I had originally ordered to being told I needed to speak to a manager. Well, once manager was on the line, she played he game that she couldn't hear me & hung up. That's when I decided to call Spec's & order from them. They were very accommodating & my brother was able to pick up from the store so that my sister in law could have in time for her birthday. We still don't know what happened to the Total Wine & more order, I'm guessing the delivery person decided to keep it for themselves. But my suggestion is, go to Spec's & skip Total Wine & More because their delivery service & customer service sucks!!!! You're better off ordering from a company that will follow through (Spec's) as opposed to a company who could care less about their customers (Total Wine & More) read more

Came here to look for La Gritona Tequila for my friend's birthday and the gentleman who was restocking the alcohol was super helpful. (I forgot to ask for his name) When it came to the cashier part they were horrible. The lady held up the line since there was only one lane open to call the manager to do an ID check on me which I don't take offense to it because I can look a bit young plus no make up. We had to wait a few minutes for him to come up and the line was getting longer, folks were getting annoyed which I don't blame them. He came up and ask me how old I am, I'm sorry but do you think I'd be dumb enough to come into a Total Wine with a fake ID? Let alone be confident enough to show you proof on screenshots, with proof of my age on legal documents I was about to pull up. I get that it's their job but if the cashier can't tell if it's a real driver's license then I'm not sure if she can hold the position as a cashier, maybe restocking alcohol will be a better fit for her! She even left the stand while I was standing after throwing two bags of liquor at me. When she came back she asked why I was still there. My question is, why is she still there? Clearly she hates it. What a great little find! I was having a hard time finding a place in Houston that carried the wine I was looking to buy, and I discovered this shop typically carries the items that not all the chains do. The salesperson was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about wines, and let me know they do tastings every Saturday from 2-4pm. I can't wait to go back and see what other choices I can make to try some different wines. They do carry spirits but I couldn't speak about that since I didn't really look at them. The last time I went to Total Wine & More was when it first opened. I wasn't that impressed with their prices, but I had to admit their selection was, at the time, pretty comprehensive. This last time, though, I was VERY impressed with their prices - and their selection has gotten even better. We specifically went there looking for one particular craft beer that's made in a San Diego-area brewery. Found it! And then we found some more. And some more! We went out with quite a few six packs of beer, every one of them at a very reasonable price. While I didn't browse the rest of the store (wine, spirits), I could see that the options in those areas was equally as wide. Only disappointment was that they were sold out of a particular brew we would have like to have grabbed and they didn't carry a specialty mixer that I was almost certain they would have. All in all, a great store with friendly service, excellent prices and a nice selection of a variety of items. We will be back. You can drink to that! read more

The grown MEN workers are very rude and inconsiderate especially Brad i think his name was, he was really tall and i only remember cus he almost trampled over me not once but twice and i had to say EXCUSE ME really loudly so he wont walk over me and all he said was "pardon me ahaha". This store discriminated against my younger sister and I the whole time we were here. We were constantly stared at as I shopped. By the time we got to the front, they refused service to us. Granted, my younger sister is a minor but she had no intent of purchasing any alcohol. The older caucasian cashier proceeded to ask for our IDs and we explained to her that I (23F) was the one carrying out the purchase the manager was called to the floor and began to say i would not be served since i was with my younger sister. I have been to countless stores where this was never the case, this isn't even Texas law. I am my sister's legal guardian. This store will never see my face again because i felt blatantly disrespected as a younger black woman. If my sister being in the store was an issue, she should've been carded and stopped at the door. She should've been sent out while I was shopping. These people are terribly insensitive. read more

I've shopped at Total Wine for several years now for their amazing selection, even though I prefer Spec's for their customer service and local ownership. Recently, I decided to use Total Wine's delivery service to save time in ordering beverages for my Thanksgiving dinner guests. That decision will mark the last time I do business with Total Wine. I placed the order several days before Thanksgiving and scheduled it to arrive at noon the Wednesday before the holiday. Around that time, a car pulled up to our house, someone jumped out, left a box on the front walkway, and sped away. They never came to the door to check my ID or to give me a chance to verify the accuracy of my order. When I retrieved the box from the door, I found that they'd left someone else's order. I called TW customer service immediately and told them what had happened. They seemed put out, but they did some checking and assured me that they would have my order out to me later that day. I even agreed to stay around the house the rest of the day to make certain I could meet their driver. Needless to say, no one ever showed. Even worse, no one even called to check to see if I'd been taken care of as they promised they would. I ended up having to ask my guests to BYOB for Thanksgiving dinner. Not good. When I called the Willowbrook TW the day after Thanksgiving to find out why they never showed, they informed me that my order was complete and the matter settled. Worse still, they referred me to their "customer care" people in some national call center. I wasn't happy. I'm unhappy enough, in fact, to become a Spec's shopper again, even though they don't have quite the selection that Total Wine sports. I'd rather have good customer service and be certain that I will get the goods for which I paid than ever deal with the slapdash service at Total Wine again. read more

Total Wine & More is awesome! Each time I've come in, I've been greeted with a very warm hello. You walk in & it's like the skies have parted with the warm glow of lighting & cool AC! It's very spacious and though it can get pretty busy, I never really feel like I'm crowded in. Not having to squeeze between other customers while trying not to knock anything off the shelves. It's very well organized and very easy to find what you're looking for. There's a separate counter for orders placed online which is great. Go in, pick up your order & out the door you go. Their high end cabinet looks great, as well as their cigar room. I don't smoke, but they must be of good quality as I've always seen at least 2 or 3 folks in there each of my visits. Their options are endless! Be it tequila, cava, whiskey, champagne to craft beers, you can find it here. If you're not sure about things, you can always ask someone on the floor to help you out. Was looking to try a new rum option & the guy helping me out didn't make feel silly for asking questions. The prices here are better in general on most products I've seen. If not better, it's the same as competitors. It's a good place to go if you're trying to set up for a party or just a special treat for yourself. Give it a try if you're in the area. I've seen Total Wine locations on both ends of 1960-Humble and Willowbrook--but wouldn't actually give them a try for nearly two years. I visited for the first time in 2019 at the Willowbrook location, and I fell in love instantly. I saw drinks that I thought I'd never see again, as well as many brands, both high and low end, that I had never heard of. Total Wine is sort of a Walmart of alcohol to Spec's Walgreens, a superstore wall-to-wall with anything you could possibly want or want to *make.* I would even compare them to HEB, in that they have dedicated booths that host tastings and tutorials. Of the two locations I mentioned, I visited this one in 2019 (before coronavirus) in search of Boone's Farm--yes, THAT Boone's Farm. It was my 30th birthday, and I wanted an old favorite, no matter how gauche. I found both Strawberry Hill and Blue Hawaiian, my ultimate favorite, thanks to the clerk at the front of the store who knew exactly where it was, down to the very bay. My experience was satisfying enough for me to go ahead and become a rewards member. I fell in love with Total Wine so much so that they were an immediate choice when it came time to buy drinks for New Year's; that time, I went to the Humble location closer to home, which I'll discuss in a separate review. read more

This is my go to liquor store, specially if I'm hosting a party or gathering I can find what I need here. They have amazing deals on a variety of wines, beers, bottles of your poison and spirits. I've gotten a bottle of Bacardi for $14 , also get emails on great choices and I've tried a few of their selection whiskeys and they happen to be so delicious, you can join free and start earning points for your purchases as well. I like their choices and I will continue purchasing them. I also always find my favorite beer on sale, Stella Artois is not cheap but I have gotten great deals on it and on Foster beer as well. She came over and started asking me questions with what I like, then told me all about the different tastes and where the products were from too. HIGHLY professional and knowledgable. I know all the stores now a days are just focused on sells, but this lady was actually focused on her customer. With customer service DYING now more than ever, it is SO nice for someone to take a few minutes to HELP you. If I could give this lady a raise I would! This place was POPPING btw. My first time ever visiting a Total Wine was in San Antonio and I was so mad that we didn't have one in Houston.. until now! Finally! Total Wine is seriously the best place to go for all your alcohol needs. 100x BETTER than Specs. So many better deals than Specs. New Years Eve, I visited a Total Wine and they had my favorite Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label champagne on sale for $39/bottle VS Spec's and Kroger which had it for $60/bottle. That's a dramatic difference. The other thing I love about Total Wine is their interior design, so much more life given to the building than the dad and run down Specs. The decor is nice and you can tell the company took time to design their store model. Total Wine also has experts that know a lot about their wines, I was in this particular location yesterday and I could not find a specific wine for a friend. It wasn't a common brand and after showing the expert a picture of it she found it in less than 3 minutes. The locations are slowly popping up throughout Houston with some in Willowbrook and Galleria that I know of for now. Until they open one up in Cypress I may have to just commute over to this location. Definitely check it out, again, best bargains in town for the same brands at other liquor places. read more

Nicely designed new store selling mostly wines and spirits. I thought their beer selection was kinda small, and their deli and soda selection is even smaller. They have a rewards program which you need to go online to sign up for. They were offering samples on a few different products and I tried some decent mezcal. Before I came, I compared their prices online with Spec's for several liquors and they are beating Spec's prices by about $1.50-2.00 for nearly every spirit I researched. Total was about 50 cents higher on the cordials though. Let's see if they can keep the low prices or are they just low during their opening then will raise them after a few months in town. As far as in store experts, they didn't have any that knew much about Rum in this location. Spoke with 2 employees and both were sorta clueless. I had to find the product myself for both different types of rum I asked for. Needless to say, I'm not a believer quite yet. read more

These guys are very new to Houston (from Wisconsin, I think), and they are moving in fast. There are more store locations opening around town very soon. If you see one, I would stop by and check out their liquor prices. I thought their prices were pretty good from my experience. The Beer and Liquor I bought was several dollars cheaper than Specs. Very large wine selection, very clean restrooms, and a polite staff, Overall a comfortable place to shop for your liquor needs. They are located in a strip center Northeast of Willowbrook Mall, next to Academy. BTW, I didn't see any meats or cheeses. Happy Super Bowl Weekend! read more

Great selection but I was asked to show my ID FIVE TIMES within a no more than 20 minute span in the store. I understand the need to verify the age of younger-looking customers, but when it gets to the point where I am searching in my purse for my ID more than I'm browsing for wine, it's too excessive and almost condescending. If management is really that concerned with underage buyers, there should be someone at the door checking IDs and marking hands or handing out wristbands so that customers aren't repetitively harassed while trying to support your business. After a certain point, it's hard to not take offense. I really liked the selection but doubt I will go back because of the excessive ID policy. Management- FIX THIS PROBLEM.
