However if you're coming up from Oregon to get discount prices, you will not be amused by Wa states inconceivable sales tax on liquor of 20.5% Anything we thought we'd saved because of their prices were eroded by the tax. Alcohol MEGA store! If you are hunting for something specific - you are very likely to find it here. There is just so, so much. It can be a tad overwhelming, but wonderful at the same time. I wouldn't go here for your first time if you don't have some real time to kill. You are going to want to walk around for a while and take it all in (and of course, tastings!). I would say the wine selection takes up a large portion of the store (it is called Wine and More, after all), but the beer section is quite impressive as well. We found several beers in here that we have not been able to find anywhere else (other than the actual breweries themselves). Color me impressed!! There was a ton of staff when I was in (it was Christmas season) and I was asked several times if I needed help finding anything (which I did). This place is definitely worth the stop if you are searching for a good place to pick up some of that poison we all love. I kind of can't wait to go back. I went here with a friend and had the absolute worst experience ever. The staff was inattentive to say the least while we were shopping. The cigar selection was mediocre to poor I should add. Also, when we went to the check stand their chip reader was down but it managed to run my card and a friends card for an amount that surpassed $100 when we were attempting to make a $24 purchase. The manager on duty, Angela didn't even apologize. She referred me to her direct manager, Guy when I asked for her area manager. He could care less blaming the technology. It appears to me that everyone else has this technology so why should it not work for you? It seems this store just doesn't care about its customers. Here's my biggest problem: this place suffocates you. Whatever you do, don't make eye contact with employees. They have someone telling them what to say in their little headsets (at least that's what I hope!) At least the store is clean and well-lit...but so is your average Walmart. The minute you walk in, you're greeted about 7 times (not making this up). The wine section is so big that I bet they lose more revenue through people giving up than through people coming in for the big selection. Same goes for spirits...but at least those are categorized in a more traditional manner. The beer...oh where do I start. The beer selection baffles me. They have probably 1/4 or more of the store devoted to beer (at least according to bottle count). Some is cold, most is not. That's fine, but it's unorganized. I know what I'm looking at better than probably 90% of the people going in and I'm an explorer personality. It drives me bonkers. Some sections are by country, some are by style. Still others are by...who knows? You're likely to find the same can or bottle in 4 different spots. The cool thing is that you can get growlers of a lot of things, but it's about 1/10th as cool as getting it from, oh, I don't know, a brewer? And again, the overwhelming presence of the staff all the time. They are probably nice people, but the corporate concept is so bad. SO BAD for this part of the country. Then, if you want to give up, you can't come out the way you came in...no, you HAVE TO go through the one (been here thrice, and true all 3 times), yes ONE of probably 10+ registers open by the exit door. The lanes are narrow and you literally have to wait in the checkout line to get out ...even if you don't buy anything. I'm all for taking liquor sales away from the Unconstitutional State Government Monopoly in favor of private sales and competition and free choice...I'm just not for the manipulation of places like this. I have a love/hate relationship. I come here for 1 maybe 2 things, and end up walking out with a cart full! They sucker you in with the amazing deals when you buy 6 or more. And that's on top of their super cheap prices! This is like a candy store of adults! So many choices! They have like every kind of wine, beer, and ciders!! I am making this 1 star rating because I am pretty damned annoyed. I am a Jameson drinker, but 3 sales associates accosted me to convince me that their new Kilbrin Irish Whiskey was far superior. I took their advice and bought it, but it is crap, with a distinct vodka-like aroma and palate and a very thin mouth feel. At a minimum, they should have said it was a nonstandard Irish Whiskey. I understand that the corporate overlords likely need to push this product, but it all smacks of poor service to the customer. Caveat emptor with recommendations from their sales associates going forward. I plan to stop giving my member number when I go in as well, as it gets me nothing anyway. Mind blown! Having grown up in Portland, OR I never knew the majesty that was warehouse spirits. One step in the door and I was a changed woman. Total Wine has a selection that is unparalleled at a price that is more than reasonable. Though Washington has some pretty hefty taxes on liquor these days they seem to adjust their prices to make it more palatable. They also have a well trained staff who are always willing to make recommendations when you're between a few options. One thing that would be nice would be a membership type option like what Bevmo offers that allows you to earn points toward a discount. Pros: huge selection, the option to request a specific wine, beer or spirit, good pricing, friendly knowledgeable staff and convenient location. This was my absolute favorite liquor/beer store in southern California. I was really happy to hear that they had one in the PNW, and only 20 minutes from my house. Just like the other one I've been to, this place is excellent. There are always a ton of employees on the floor who are very helpful and friendly, which is nice if you're looking for a recommendation or if you need help finding something. The wine, spirit and beer selection under one roof is unrivaled in my opinion. Sure, I've come here looking for something specific that they didn't carry but most of the time they gave exactly what I wanted. Even better, they have such a wide selection of beers that I always leave with something new to try. They also recognize Oregon drivers licenses for the tax discount on beer and wine (why not save some money?) The prices on spirits are much lower in Washington than Oregon, but after the liquor tax it about evens out. Ordered some beer and wine for delivery today. Door Dash driver Stephanie arrived with it, but the two bottles of wine were missing. She was great and tried to check on the situation. After we sat on the porch for 20 minutes trying to, first get help from Door Dash unsuccessfully, then Total Wines with multiple delays, it was revealed that the person at Total Wines had simply neglected to pack them. I cancelled my plans, and waited another half hour for Stephanie to pick them up and deliver them. Real waste of time. No apology (yet) from Total Wine. They need a special line that drivers can use for immediate help in situations like this. Also a double-check system before sending out a driver with a missing product. read more

Total Wine & More is the second happiest place on earth. When I walk in I'm definitely grabbing a cart because once I realize that time hasn't actually stopped and I have somewhere else to be; it's been 2 hours and I'm holding 5 or 6 bottles of wine (at least) that I can't live without. Most recently I stocked up on a few bottles of Molly Dooker "The Boxer" which I plan to give as a few Christmas gifts. The price is the best I've seen anywhere including online. They have every varietal (well, VERY MANY) in all price ranges. They also carry beer & spirits. I like the mix & match single beers for times when I can't commit to a 6-pack. For this Washington location however, I pity you people and your "SLT" state liquor tax. You chumps are paying a few bucks more per bottle than your CA friends. I'll buy my liquor outside of WA thank you. But you can bet I'll be here stocking up on wine every time I visit Vancouver! read more

This is alcohol heaven. I hear angels singing whenever I walk through the sliding door. They have the largest selection of wine, craft beer, and liquor of anywhere in the greater Vancouver area. At least that I've patronized, anyway. They have a rewards program that gets you discounts and free stuff. There is a blast chiller in the front of the store so you can stick your bottles in there while you shop and leave with freezing cold beverages. Make sure to sign up for their rewards program. A wide selection of single beers or chilled six packs, a growler filling station (though, they do not allow/offer tasting) and good selection of a variety of spirits and accessories. I have found that I prefer Total Wine to other comparable institutions for organizational and customer service purposes. I ordered some items online yesterday. I set my order for curbside pick-up, and the entire experience was easy and pleasant. The email confirmation was specific and instructive. My set to time for pick-up was 5-7pm tonight, but they had the order ready hours ahead of time and sent me an email saying I could come in earlier than my set time. When I got there and parked in the curbside space, I notified them by email, and it was literally 2 minutes before a nice employee was approaching my car. He was pleasant and courteous. If this place doesn't have it, it doesn't exist! But what really separates this place from other stores like it is the customer service. All of the employees are knowledgeable and can make great recommendations on pairing with food, or just a great bottle to share with friends. Furthermore, I recently purchased a bottle of rosé that was corked, and they gladly replaced it. The second bottle also happened to be corked. After that bottle they recommended a comparable rosé of cost and style and gladly refunded me the difference in cost between the bottles. They have wine from all over the world varying in quality starting at boxed wine all the way up to aged $400 wine. The employees here awesome too. Was completely miss lead on the availability of a product. Called several weeks back regarding a particular whiskey for a Christmas gift. Was told by the employee that she could take my name and number and reserve a bottle when it arrived in on December 15th or 16th. I called on the 15th and spoke with another employee who informed me they don't "reserve" orders. He said they will, however, be getting that brand in on the next day between 9 and 11 am, so feel free to come by and pick up a bottle. So, I called the next day and spoke with another employee who told me it was only going to be sold through a raffle system at the end of the year!!! I am super frustrated because this was a special Christmas gift for a dear friend. I could have ordered it through another source. My recommendation is to find what you need at another location, or at least one that has employees cognitive of their policies. read more

I just came home from the best wine, beer, and spirit store, maybe ever. I had read about the opening of the store in the paper and wanted to see what it was about. They have everything!!! They have kegs. They have beer, cider, and the bottle of pink voodoo donut beer. They have every kind of wine imaginable, including a $2,800 bottle of wine. They have spirits galore. I have tried to find Van Gogh gin anywhere in the Portland, Vancouver area, and guess what? They have that too. Of course. It's across the street from the Vancouver Mall, and if you are anywhere near that neighborhood, and like any of the above-mentioned items, you must go in and check it out. I live in Portland. Drove 30 minutes and picked up a mixed case a few weeks ago. The prices here are good, sometimes the best in the country. The winery direct wines that we tried were mostly overrated, but there were a few good values. My problem is, the two most expensive wines we bought were completely heat damaged and undrinkable. To return these, I was told I had to bring them back with the remaining wine in the bottle. This is not an uncommon policy, but it's not going to work for me when I live 30 minutes away and have to make a dedicated trip. Heat damage is the responsibility of the retailer. It's either TW's fault or the fault of a TW distributor. Two bottles in ten is just unacceptable. Not worth the risk. read more

The beer at the Vancouver WA store is not being cared for. In the last 2 months I've made 6 trips at roughly $40 a shot, and each time has become more disappointing than the next. The beer being sold is kept way too warm, which results in an over carbonated beer. I've been home brewing for 5 years and have had pro brewer friend pass down his knowledge. So it's safe to say I have an idea of what effects and brings out bad characters in beer. Me and 8 friends are boycotting this store. Fix this now! read more
